1 पतरस 4
1 इसलिये कि मसीह ने शरीर में दुःख सहा, तुम स्वयं भी वैसी ही मनोभाव धारण कर लो, क्योंकि जिस किसी ने शरीर में दुःख सहा है, उसने पाप को त्याग दिया है.
Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, do you also warm yourselves with the same mind: for he who has suffered in the flesh, has ceased from sin;
2 इसलिये अब से तुम्हारा शेष शारीरिक जीवन मानवीय लालसाओं को पूरा करने में नहीं परंतु परमेश्वर की इच्छा के नियंत्रण में व्यतीत हो.
so that he no longer lives his remaining time in the flesh, to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 काफ़ी था वह समय, जो तुम अन्यजातियों के समान इन लालसाओं को पूरा करने में बिता चुके: कामुकता, वासना, मद्यपान उत्सव, व्यभिचार, रंगरेलियां तथा घृणित मूर्तिपूजन.
For the time which has passed of life, is sufficient to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, having walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excesses in wine, revelings, carousals, and abominable idolatries.
4 अब वे अचंभा करते हैं कि तुम उसी व्यभिचारिता की अधिकता में उनका साथ नहीं दे रहे. इसलिये अब वे तुम्हारी बुराई कर रहे हैं.
On which account they wonder that you do not run with them, into the same sink of debauchery, reviling you, --
5 अपने कामों का लेखा वे उन्हें देंगे, जो जीवितों और मरे हुओं के न्याय के लिए तैयार हैं.
who shall give account to him who is prepared to judge the living and the dead.
6 इसी उद्देश्य से ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार उन्हें भी सुनाया जा चुका है, जो अब मरे हुए हैं कि वे मनुष्यों के न्याय के अनुसार शरीर में तो दंडित किए जाएं किंतु अपनी आत्मा में परमेश्वर की इच्छानुसार जीवित रह सकें.
For, to this end of the gospel was preached to the dead, that they might, indeed, be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7 संसार का अंत पास है इसलिये तुम प्रार्थना के लिए संयम और सचेत भाव धारण करो.
Now the end of all things has approached; be, therefore, sober, and watch to prayer.
8 सबसे उत्तम तो यह है कि आपस में उत्तम प्रेम रखो क्योंकि प्रेम अनगिनत पापों पर पर्दा डाल देता है.
And above all things, have fervent love to one another; for love will cover a multitude of sins.
9 बिना कुड़कुड़ाए एक दूसरे का अतिथि-सत्कार करो.
Be hospitable to one another, without murmurings.
10 हर एक ने परमेश्वर द्वारा विशेष क्षमता प्राप्त की है इसलिये वह परमेश्वर के असीम अनुग्रह के उत्तम भंडारी होकर एक दूसरे की सेवा करने के लिए उनका अच्छी तरह से उपयोग करें.
Let every one, according as he has received a gift, minister it to the others, as good stewards of the manifold favor of God.
11 यदि कोई प्रवचन करे, तो इस भाव में, मानो वह स्वयं परमेश्वर का वचन हो; यदि कोई सेवा करे, तो ऐसी सामर्थ्य से, जैसा परमेश्वर प्रदान करते हैं कि सभी कामों में मसीह येशु के द्वारा परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद हो, जिनका साम्राज्य और महिमा सदा-सर्वदा है. आमेन. (aiōn g165)
If any one speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any one minister, let him do it as from the strength which God supplies; that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 प्रियो, उस अग्नि रूपी परीक्षा से चकित न हो जो तुम्हें परखने के उद्देश्य से तुम पर आएगी, मानो कुछ अनोखी घटना घट रही है,
Beloved, wonder not at the fiery trial among you, which is come upon you for a trial, as if some strange thing happened to you;
13 परंतु जब तुम मसीह के दुःखों में सहभागी होते हो, आनंदित होते रहो कि मसीह येशु की महिमा के प्रकट होने पर तुम्हारा आनंद उत्तम विजय आनंद हो जाए.
but, seeing you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice: that, also, at the revelation of his glory you may rejoice, with exceeding great joy.
14 यदि मसीह के कारण तुम्हारी निंदा की जाती है तो तुम आशीषित हो क्योंकि तुम पर परमेश्वर की महिमा का आत्मा छिपा है.
If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
15 तुममें से कोई भी किसी भी रीति से हत्यारे, चोर, दुराचारी या हस्तक्षेपी के रूप में यातना न भोगे;
By them, indeed, he is evil spoken of, but by you he is glorified. Wherefore, let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a malefactor, or as a meddling person.
16 परंतु यदि कोई मसीही विश्वासी होने के कारण दुःख भोगे, वह इसे लज्जा की बात न समझे परंतु मसीह की महिमा के कारण परमेश्वर की स्तुति करे.
However, if any one suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him even glorify God on that account.
17 परमेश्वर के न्याय के प्रारंभ होने का समय आ गया है, जो परमेश्वर की संतान से प्रारंभ होगा और यदि यह सबसे पहले हमसे प्रारंभ होता है तो उनका अंत क्या होगा, जो परमेश्वर के ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार को नहीं मानते हैं?
Indeed, the time is come that punishment must begin at the house of God; and if it begin first at us, what the end of them who do not obey the gospel of God?
18 और, “यदि धर्मी का ही उद्धार कठिन होता है तो भक्तिहीन व पापी का क्या होगा?”
And, if the righteous with difficulty escape, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear!
19 इसलिये वे भी, जो परमेश्वर की इच्छानुसार दुःख सहते हैं, अपनी आत्मा विश्वासयोग्य सृजनहार को सौंप दें, और भले काम करते रहें.
Wherefore, then, let those who suffer by the will of God, commit their own lives to him in well doing, as a faithful Creator.
