1 राजा 9

1 जब शलोमोन ने याहवेह के भवन, राजमहल और जो कुछ भी करने की योजना बनाई थी, और उसे पूरा कर चुके,

When Salomon had finished the building of the house of ye Lord, and the kings palace, and all that Salomon desired and minded to do,

2 तब याहवेह दूसरी बार शलोमोन के सामने प्रकट हुए, ठीक उसी प्रकार जिस प्रकार वह उनके सामने गिबयोन में प्रकट हुए थे.

Then the Lord appeared vnto Salomon the second time, as he appeared vnto him at Gibeon.

3 याहवेह ने उनसे कहा, “जो प्रार्थना तुमने मेरे सामने की है, वह मैंने सुन ली है. तुम्हारे द्वारा बनाए इस भवन को सदा-सर्वदा के लिए अपना नाम लगाने के द्वारा पवित्र बना लिया है, कि इस स्थान पर मेरी महिमा हमेशा बनी रहे, और मेरी दृष्टि और मेरा हृदय हमेशा यहीं लगे रहें.

And the Lord sayd vnto him, I haue heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I haue halowed this house (which thou hast built) to put my Name there for euer, and mine eyes, and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

4 “तुम्हारे बारे में मुझे यह कहना है: यदि तुम मेरे सामने चलते रहोगे, जैसे तुम्हारे पिता दावीद हृदय की सच्चाई और सरलता में चलते रहे, यदि तुम उन सभी आदेशों का पालन करते रहो, जो मैंने तुम्हें दिए हैं, और उन सभी नियमों और आदेशों का पालन करते रहो,

And if thou wilt walke before mee (as Dauid thy father walked in purenesse of heart and in righteousnesse) to doe according to al that I haue commanded thee, and keepe my statutes, and my iudgements,

5 तब तुम्हारे पिता दावीद से की गई इस प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार, ‘इस्राएल के सिंहासन को स्थिर करूंगा, और इस्राएल के सिंहासन पर बैठने के लिए तेरे वंश में पुरुष का अभाव न होगा.’

Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdome vpon Israel for euer, as I promised to Dauid thy father, saying, Thou shalt not want a man vpon the throne of Israel.

6 “यदि तुम और तुम्हारे वंशज मेरे उन सभी नियमों और आदेशों का अनुसरण करना छोड़ दो, जो मैंने तुम्हारे सामने रखे हैं, और जाकर अन्य देवताओं की सेवा और आराधना करने लगो,

But if ye and your children turne away from mee, and wil not keepe my commandements, and my statutes (which I haue set before you) but go and serue other gods, and worship them,

7 तब उस देश से, जो मैंने उन्हें दिया, इस्राएल को अलग कर दूंगा और उस भवन को, जो मैंने अपनी महिमा के लिए प्रतिष्ठित किया है, अपनी दृष्टि से दूर कर दूंगा, फलस्वरूप इस्राएल तब सभी लोगों के बीच उपहास और निंदा का पात्र बन जाएगा.

Then will I cutte off Israel from the lande, which I haue giuen them, and the house which I haue halowed for my Name, will I cast out of my sight, and Israel shall be a prouerbe, and a common talke among all people.

8 यह भवन खंडहरों का ढेर होकर रह जाएगा. तब हर एक व्यक्ति, जो उनके पास से होकर जाएगा, चकित हो सांस ऊपर खींच यह कह उठेंगे, ‘क्यों उन्होंने याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर को भुला दिया था.

Euen this hie house shall bee so: euery one that passeth by it, shalbe astonied, and shall hisse, and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus vnto this land and to this house?

9 याहवेह, जिन्होंने उनके पूर्वजों को मिस्र देश से बाहर निकाल लाया था. अब उन्होंने अन्य देवताओं का अनुसरण करने का निश्चय किया. उन्होंने उन देवताओं की सेवा और पूजा करनी आरंभ की. यही कारण है याहवेह ने उन पर यह सारी घोर विपत्ति डाल दी है.’”

And they shall answere, Because they forsooke the Lord their God, which brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and haue taken holde vpon other gods, and haue worshipped them, and serued them, therfore hath the Lord brought vpon them all this euill.

10 बीस साल खत्म होते-होते शलोमोन याहवेह का भवन और राजमहल बना चुके थे.

And at the ende of twentie yeeres, when Salomon had buylded the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the Kings palace,

11 तब तक सोर देश के राजा हीराम शलोमोन की इच्छा अनुसार देवदार और सनोवर की लकड़ी और सोने की आपूर्ति करते रहे. राजा शलोमोन ने हीराम को गलील क्षेत्र में बीस नगर दे दिए.

(For the which Hiram the King of Tyrus had brought to Salomon timber of cedar, and firre trees, and golde, and whatsoeuer he desired) then King Salomon gaue to Hiram twentie cities in the land of Galil.

12 किंतु जब हीराम ने आकर उन नगरों को देखा, उन्हें खुशी नहीं हुई.

And Hiram came out from Tyrus to see the cities which Salomon had giuen him, and they pleased him not.

13 उन्होंने शलोमोन से कहा, “मेरे भाई, तुमने मुझे ये कैसे नगर दे दिए हैं?” इसलिये आज तक वे नगर काबूल के नाम से जाने जाते हैं

Therefore hee sayde, What cities are these which thou hast giuen me, my brother? And hee called them the land of Cabul vnto this day.

14 हीराम शलोमोन को लगभग चार हज़ार किलो सोना भेज चुके थे.

And Hiram had sent the King sixe score talents of gold.

15 शलोमोन ने जिन लोगों को ज़बरदस्ती काम पर लगाया था, उसका लेखा इस प्रकार है: उन्होंने याहवेह का भवन और राजमहल, मिल्लो, और येरूशलेम की शहरपनाह, और हाज़ोर, मगिद्दो और गेज़ेर नगर को बनाने का काम किया.

And this is the cause of the tribute why King Salomon raised tribute, to wit, to builde the house of the Lord, and his owne house, and Millo, and the wall of Ierusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 मिस्र देश के राजा फ़रोह ने गेज़ेर नगर को अपने अधीन कर उसे भस्म कर दिया था. उन्होंने वहां रह रहे कनान मूल के वासियों को मारकर नगर को भस्म कर दिया. फिर उसने यह नगर दहेज के रूप में अपनी पुत्री को दे दिया, जो शलोमोन की पत्नी थी.

Pharaoh King of Egypt had come vp, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slew the Canaanites, that dwelt in the citie, and gaue it for a present vnto his daughter Salomons wife.

17 तब शलोमोन ने गेज़ेर नगर को दोबारा से बसाया तथा घाटी क्षेत्र में बेथ-होरोन,

(Therefore Salomon builte Gezer and Beth-horon the nether,

18 बालाथ और मरुभूमि में स्थित तादमोर को भी बसाया.

And Baalath and Tamor in the wildernes of the land,

19 उन्होंने दूसरे भण्ड़ार नगरों को भी बनवाया जहां उनके रथ, घोड़े और घुड़सवार रखे गए थे. इनके अलावा उन्होंने येरूशलेम, लबानोन और सारे देश में अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार भवन बनवाए.

And all the cities of store, that Salomon had, euen cities for charets, and cities for horsemen, and all that Salomon desired and woulde build in Ierusalem, and in Lebanon and in all the land of his dominion)

20 शलोमोन ने इन सभी को ज़बरदस्ती दास बनाकर निर्माण काम में लगा दिया; अमोरी, हित्ती, परिज्ज़ी, हिव्वी और यबूसी. (ये इस्राएली नहीं थे.)

Al the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hiuites, and Iebusites, which were not of the children of Israel:

21 उनकी संतानों को भी शलोमोन ने दास बना लिये, जो उनके बाद उस देश में बचे रह गए थे, जिन्हें इस्राएली वध न कर सके थे; ये सब आज भी दास ही हैं.

To wit, their children that were left after them in the lande, whome the children of Israel were not able to destroy, those did Salomon make tributaries vnto this day.

22 मगर शलोमोन ने किसी भी इस्राएली को दास नहीं बनाया. वे सैनिक बनाए जाते थे, उन्हें सैन्य अधिकारी बनाया जाता था: योद्धा, कप्‍तान, रथ हाकिम और घुड़सवार.

But of the children of Israel did Salomon make no bondmen: but they were men of warre and his seruants, and his princes, and his captaines, and rulers of his charets and his horsemen.

23 सभी कामों के ऊपर शलोमोन ने 550 प्रमुख अधिकारी ठहरा दिए थे. ये सभी पद श्रमिकों के अधिकारी थे, जो भवन बनाने के काम में लगे हुए थे.

These were the princes of the officers, that were ouer Salomons worke: euen fiue hundreth and fiftie, and they ruled the people that wrought in the worke.

24 जब फ़रोह की पुत्री दावीद-नगर छोड़कर उस राजमहल में आ गई, जो शलोमोन द्वारा बनवाया गया था, तब शलोमोन ने उसके किए मिल्लो को बनवा दिया.

And Pharaohs daughter came vp from the citie of Dauid vnto the house which Salomon had built for her: then did he buylde Millo.

25 राजा शलोमोन साल में तीन बार उस वेदी पर होम और मेल बलि चढ़ाते थे, जो उन्होंने याहवेह के लिए बनाई थी. इस पर वह धूप जलाकर याहवेह के सामने की वेदी पर बलि चढ़ाते थे. इस प्रकार उन्होंने भवन निर्माण समाप्‍त किया.

And thrise a yere did Salomon offer burnt offringes and peace offrings vpon the altar which he built vnto the Lord: and hee burnt incense vpon the altar that was before the Lord, when hee had finished the house.

26 राजा शलोमोन ने एज़िओन-गेबेर में जलयानों का एक बेड़ा बनाया था. यह स्थान एदोम प्रदेश में लाल सागर के तट पर एलाथ नामक स्थान के पास है.

Also King Salomon made a nauie of ships in Ezeon-geber, which is beside Eloth, and the brinke of the red Sea, in the land of Edom.

27 राजा हीराम ने बेड़े के साथ अपने सेवक भेज दिए. इनमें ऐसे सेवक थे, जिन्हें समुद्र का ज्ञान था. इनके साथ शलोमोन के सेवक भी थे.

And Hiram sent with the nauie his seruats, that were mariners, and had knowledge of the sea, with the seruants of Salomon.

28 ये सभी ओफीर नगर को गए और वहां से वे लगभग चौदह हज़ार किलो सोना लेकर लौटे. उन्होंने यह शलोमोन को भेंट कर दिया.

And they came to Ophir and sette from thence foure hundreth and twentie talents of gold, and brought it to King Salomon.
