1 राजा 21
1 येज़्रील में, शमरिया के राजा अहाब के राजघराने के पास येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ का एक दाख की बारी थी.
And it came to pass after these things, [that] Naboth the Jizreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jizreel, by the side of the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2 इन घटनाओं के बाद अहाब ने नाबोथ के सामने यह प्रस्ताव रखा, “मुझे अपना दाख की बारी दे दो. मैं इसे अपने लिए साग-पात का बगीचा बनाना चाहता हूं, क्योंकि यह मेरे घर के पास है. इसकी जगह पर मैं तुम्हें इससे बेहतर अंगूर का बगीचा दे दूंगा या अगर तुम्हें सही लगे तो मैं तुम्हें इसका पूरा दाम दे सकता हूं.”
And Ahab spoke to Naboth saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, for it is near, by the side of my house; and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; if it seem good to thee, I will give thee its value in money.
3 मगर नाबोथ ने अहाब को उत्तर दिया, “याहवेह यह कभी न होने दें कि मैं अपने पूर्वजों की मीरास आपको सौंप दूं.”
And Naboth said to Ahab, Jehovah forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to thee!
4 अहाब उदास और गुस्सा होता हुआ अपने घर को लौट गया, क्योंकि येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ ने उसे कहा था, “मैं अपने पूर्वजों की मीरास आपको सौंप नहीं सकता.” अहाब जाकर अपने बिछौने पर लेट गया, अपना मुंह फेर लिया और उसने भोजन भी न किया.
And Ahab came into his house sullen and vexed because of the word that Naboth the Jizreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he lay down on his bed, and turned away his face, and ate no bread.
5 मगर उसकी पत्नी ईजेबेल ने उसके पास आ उससे कहा, “आपके मन में ऐसी कौन सी उदासी है कि आप भोजन तक नहीं कर रहे!”
And Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, Why is thy spirit sullen, and thou eatest no bread?
6 राजा ने उसे उत्तर दिया, “इसलिये कि मैंने येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ से बातें की हैं और उसके सामने यह प्रस्ताव रखा, ‘अपनी दाख की बारी मुझे बेच दो या तुम चाहो तो मैं तुम्हें इसकी जगह पर एक दूसरी दाख की बारी दिए देता हूं,’ मगर उसने मुझे उत्तर दिया, ‘मैं तुम्हें अपनी दाख की बारी नहीं दे सकता.’”
And he said to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jizreelite and said to him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee a vineyard for it; and he said, I will not give thee my vineyard.
7 उसकी पत्नी ईजेबेल ने उत्तर दिया, “क्या इस्राएल के राजा आप नहीं हैं? उठिए, भोजन कीजिए कि आपके चेहरे पर चमक आ जाए. येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ की दाख की बारी आपको मैं दूंगी.”
And Jezebel his wife said to him, Dost thou now exercise sovereignty over Israel? arise, eat bread, and let thy heart be glad: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jizreelite.
8 इसके लिए ईजेबेल ने अहाब के नाम में पत्र लिखे, उन पर अहाब की मोहर लगा उन्हें नाबोथ के नगर के पुरनियों और बड़े लोगों को भेज दिया.
And she wrote a letter in Ahab's name, and sealed it with his seal, and sent the letter to the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9 पत्रों में उसने लिखा था: “उपवास की घोषणा करो और नाबोथ को मुख्य स्थान पर बैठाना.
And she wrote in the letter saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth at the head of the people;
10 नाबोथ के ही सामने दो दुष्ट लोगों को भी बैठा देना. वे नाबोथ पर यह आरोप लगाएं: ‘तुमने परमेश्वर और राजा को शाप दिया है.’ तब उसे ले जाकर पत्थराव द्वारा उसकी हत्या कर देना.”
and set two men, sons of Belial, before him, and they shall bear witness against him saying, Thou didst curse God and the king; and carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11 नाबोथ के नगरवासी पुरनियों और प्रमुखों ने ऐसा ही किया, जैसा ईजेबेल ने उन्हें आदेश दिया था; ठीक जैसा आदेश उन्हें पत्रों में ईजेबेल द्वारा दिया गया था.
And the men of his city, the elders and the nobles that dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letter that she had sent to them:
12 उन्होंने उपवास की घोषणा की और नाबोथ को लोगों के बीच मुख्य स्थान पर बैठाया.
they proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth at the head of the people.
13 दो दुष्टों ने आकर सबके सामने यह कहकर नाबोथ पर आरोप लगाया: “नाबोथ ने परमेश्वर और राजा को शाप दिया है.” तब वे नाबोथ को नगर के बाहर ले गए, और पत्थराव कर उसकी हत्या कर दी.
And there came the two men, sons of Belial, and sat before him; and the men of Belial witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth blasphemed God and the king. And they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14 इसके बाद उन्होंने ईजेबेल को यह सूचना भेज दी, “नाबोथ का पत्थराव किया चुका है; उसकी मृत्यु हो चुकी है.”
And they sent to Jezebel saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
15 जैसा ही ईजेबेल को यह मालूम हुआ कि नाबोथ का पत्थराव किया गया और उसकी मृत्यु हो चुकी है, ईजेबेल ने अहाब से कहा, “उठिए! येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ की दाख की बारी को अब अपने अधिकार में ले लीजिए. इस दाख की बारी के लिए वह आपसे इसका मूल्य भी स्वीकार करने के लिए तैयार न था, अब वह जीवित नहीं, मर चुका है.”
And it came to pass when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jizreelite, which he refused to give thee for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16 जैसे ही अहाब ने यह सुना कि नाबोथ की मृत्यु हो चुकी है, अहाब उठकर येज़्रीलवासी नाबोथ की दाख की बारी की ओर चल पड़ा, कि उस पर अधिकार कर ले.
And it came to pass when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jizreelite, to take possession of it.
17 तिशबेवासी एलियाह को याहवेह का यह संदेश भेजा गया:
And the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18 “जाकर इस्राएल के राजा अहाब से, जो शमरिया में है, भेंटकरो. देखना इस समय वह नाबोथ की दाख की बारी में है, जहां वह उस पर अधिकार करने के लिए गया हुआ है.
Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to take possession of it.
19 तुम्हें उससे कहना, ‘यह याहवेह का संदेश है, तुमने हत्या की है, और अब अधिकार भी कर लिया न?’ फिर यह कहना होगा: ‘यह याहवेह का संदेश है, जहां कुत्तों ने नाबोथ का लहू चाटा है, वहीं वे तुम्हारा लहू भी चाटेंगे!’”
And thou shalt speak unto him saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him saying, Thus saith Jehovah: In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall the dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
20 अहाब ने एलियाह से कहा, “मेरे शत्रु, तुम फिर मेरे सामने आ गए!” एलियाह ने उत्तर दिया, “मुझे आना पड़ा, क्योंकि आपने अपने आपको उस काम के लिए समर्पित कर रखा है, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत है.
And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, mine enemy? And he said, I have found [thee]; because thou hast sold thyself to do evil in the sight of Jehovah.
21 याहवेह कहते हैं, ‘यह देखना, मैं तुम पर बहुत विपत्ति बरसाऊंगा. मैं तुम्हें पूरी तरह भस्म कर दूंगा और मैं इस्राएल में अहाब के परिवार से हर एक पुरुष को—बंधुआ हो या स्वतंत्र—मिटा दूंगा.
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab every male, and him that is shut up and left in Israel;
22 मैं तुम्हारे परिवार को नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम के समान और अहीयाह के पुत्र बाशा के समान बना दूंगा, क्योंकि तुमने मुझे क्रोध के लिए भड़काया और इस्राएल को पाप की ओर उकसाया है.’
and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
23 “हां, ईजेबेल के लिए भी याहवेह का संदेश है, ‘येज़्रील नगर की सीमा के भीतर ही कुत्ते ईजेबेल को खा जाएंगे.’
And of Jezebel also spoke Jehovah saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the moat of Jizreel.
24 “अहाब के किसी भी संबंधी की मृत्यु नगर में होगी वह कुत्तों का भोजन हो जाएगा, और जिस किसी की मृत्यु नगर के बाहर खुले मैदान में होगी, वह आकाश के पक्षियों का भोजन हो जाएगा.”
Him that dieth of Ahab in the city shall the dogs eat, and him that dieth in the field shall the fowl of the heavens eat.
25 (निःसंदेह ऐसा कोई भी न हुआ, जो याहवेह के सामने बुराई के लिए अहाब के समान लगा रहा—अहाब, जिसे उसकी पत्नी ईजेबेल उकसाती रहती थी.
(Surely there was none like to Ahab, who did sell himself to do evil in the sight of Jehovah, Jezebel his wife urging him on.
26 उसकी मूर्तियों की पूजा करना, जैसा अमोरी किया करते थे, जिन्हें याहवेह ने इस्राएली प्रजा के सामने से निकाल दिया था, बहुत ही घृणित काम था.)
And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Jehovah had dispossessed before the children of Israel.)
27 यह सुनकर अहाब ने अपने वस्त्र फाड़ दिए, और टाट लपेट लिया, उपवास किया, टाट पर ही सोने लगा और विलाप करते हुए ही अपना पूरा दिन गुज़ारने लगा.
And it came to pass when Ahab heard these words, that he rent his garments, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28 तिशबे एलियाह के पास याहवेह का यह संदेश पहुंचा,
And the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 “क्या तुमने देखा कि अहाब मेरे सामने कैसा विनम्र हो गया है? उसकी इस विनम्रता के कारण मैं यह विपत्ति उसके जीवनकाल में नहीं, बल्कि उसके पुत्र के शासनकाल में ही उसके परिवार पर डालूंगा.”
Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.
