1 राजा 16

1 हनानी के पुत्र येहू के पास बाशा के विरुद्ध याहवेह का यह संदेश आया:

And the word of the Lord came to Jehu, son of Hanani, protesting against Baasha and saying,

2 “इसलिये कि मैंने धूल से उठाकर तुम्हें प्रतिष्ठित किया, और अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल का मुखिया चुना, मगर तुम्हारा स्वभाव यरोबोअम के समान ही रहा है. तुमने मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल को पाप की ओर उकसाया और उनके पाप के द्वारा तुमने मेरे क्रोध को भड़काया है.

Because I took you up out of the dust, and made you ruler over my people Israel; and you have gone in the ways of Jeroboam, and made my people Israel do evil, moving me to wrath by their sins;

3 अब देख लेना कि मैं बाशा के वंश को मिटा दूंगा और तुम्हारे वंश को नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम के समान कर दूंगा.

Truly, I will see that Baasha and all his family are completely brushed away; I will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.

4 यदि बाशा के किसी भी संबंधी की मृत्यु नगर के भीतर होती है, तो उसका शव कुत्तों का भोजन हो जाएगा; यदि किसी की मृत्यु खुले मैदान में होती है, तो वह आकाश के पक्षियों का भोजन हो जाएगा.”

Anyone of the family of Baasha who comes to death in the town, will become food for the dogs; and he to whom death comes in the open country, will be food for the birds of the air.

5 बाशा की बाकी उपलब्धियां, उसके द्वारा किए गए काम और उसके शौर्य का ब्यौरा इस्राएल के राजाओं की इतिहास नामक पुस्तक में है.

Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his power, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

6 बाशा की मृत्यु हुई, और वह तिरज़ाह नगर में गाड़ा गया, और उसके स्थान पर उसका पुत्र एलाह राजा बना.

And Baasha went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth at Tirzah; and Elah his son became king in his place.

7 इसके अलावा, हनानी के पुत्र भविष्यद्वक्ता येहू के द्वारा याहवेह का संदेश बाशा और उसके सारे परिवार के विरुद्ध ये दोनों ही कारणों से भेजा गया: उसने यरोबोअम के परिवार के समान वे काम करके, जो याहवेह दृष्टि में गलत थे, याहवेह का क्रोध भड़काया और दूसरा, उसने यरोबोअम के वंश को खत्म कर डाला.

And the Lord sent his word against Baasha and his family by the mouth of the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani, because of all the evil he did in the eyes of the Lord, moving him to wrath by the work of his hands, because he was like the family of Jeroboam, and because he put it to death.

8 यहूदिया पर राजा आसा के शासन के छब्बीसवें साल में बाशा के पुत्र एलाह ने इस्राएल पर, तिरज़ाह नगर में रहते हुए अपना शासन शुरू किया. उसने दो साल शासन किया.

In the twenty-sixth year that Asa was king of Judah, Elah, the son of Baasha, became king of Israel in Tirzah, and he was king for two years.

9 किंतु उसके सेवक ज़िमरी ने, जो आधी रथ सेना का मुखिया था, उसके विरुद्ध षड़्‍यंत्र रचा. जब एलाह तिरज़ाह में राजघराने के अधिकारी अरज़ा के घर में नशे में था,

And his servant Zimri, captain of half his war-carriages, made secret designs against him: now he was in Tirzah, drinking hard in the house of Arza, controller of the king's house in Tirzah.

10 ज़िमरी ने आकर उस पर वार कर उसकी हत्या कर दी. और उसके स्थान पर शासन करने लगा. यह यहूदिया के राजा आसा के शासनकाल के सत्ताईसवें साल की घटना है.

And Zimri went in and made an attack on him and put him to death, in the twenty-seventh year that Asa was king of Judah, and made himself king in his place.

11 जब उसने शासन शुरू किया, सिंहासन पर बैठते ही उसने बाशा के परिवार के सारे सदस्यों की हत्या कर दी. उसने परिवार और मित्रों के परिवारों में एक भी पुरुष को जीवित न छोड़ा.

And straight away when he became king and took his place on the seat of the kingdom, he put to death all the family of Baasha: not one male child of his relations or his friends kept his life.

12 इस प्रकार ज़िमरी ने याहवेह के संदेश के अनुसार, जो उन्होंने भविष्यद्वक्ता येहू के द्वारा बाशा के विरुद्ध कहा था, बाशा के पूरे परिवार को खत्म कर दिया!

So Zimri put to death all the family of Baasha, so that the word which the Lord said against him by the mouth of Jehu the prophet came about;

13 यह सब उन पापों के कारण हुआ जो बाशा और उसके पुत्र एलाह ने किए, और इस्राएल को भी यह पाप करने के लिए प्रेरित किया, और इसलिये भी की उन्होंने याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर को अपने बेकार के कामों द्वारा क्रोधित किया.

Because of all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath by their foolish acts.

14 एलाह की बाकी उपलब्धियों का और उसके सारे कामों का ब्यौरा इस्राएल के राजाओं की इतिहास नामक पुस्तक में किया गया है.

Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

15 यहूदिया के राजा आसा के शासन के सत्ताईसवें साल में तिरज़ाह नगर में ज़िमरी ने सात दिन शासन किया. सेना ने गिब्बथोन नगर की घेराबंदी की, जो फिलिस्तीनियों के अधीन में एक नगर था.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa, king of Judah, Zimri was king for seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were attacking Gibbethon in the land of the Philistines.

16 नगर की घेराबंदी की हुई. सेना ने किसी को यह कहते हुए सुना, “ज़िमरी ने षड़्‍यंत्र रचा है, और उसने राजा की हत्या कर दी है.” यह सुन सारे इस्राएल ने ओमरी को सेनापति बना दिया, यानी उसे उस दिन छावनी में ही इस्राएल का राजा घोषित कर दिया गया.

And news came to the people in the tents that Zimri had made a secret design and had put the king to death: so all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king that day in the tents.

17 इस्राएली सेना ने ओमरी के साथ गिब्बथोन से कूच किया और तिरज़ाह नगर को अधीन कर लिया.

Then Omri went up from Gibbethon, with all the army of Israel, and they made an attack on Tirzah, shutting in the town on every side.

18 जब ज़िमरी ने देखा कि नगर उसके हाथ से निकल चुका है, वह राजघराने के गढ़ में चला गया, और राजघराने में आग लगा ली, जिससे उसकी मृत्यु हो गई.

And when Zimri saw that the town was taken, he went into the inner room of the king's house, and burning the house over his head, came to his end,

19 यह उसके पापों के कारण हुआ. उसने वही किया, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत था, यरोबोअम के समान बुरी चाल चलने के द्वारा, जिसमें उसने इस्राएल को पाप करने के लिए उकसाया था.

Because of his sin in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord, in going in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel do.

20 ज़िमरी के बाकी कामों का ब्यौरा और उसके द्वारा रचे गए षड़्‍यंत्र का वर्णन इस्राएल के राजाओं की इतिहास नामक पुस्तक में किया गया है.

Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and the secret design he made, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

21 इस्राएली प्रजा दो भागों में बंट गई. आधे लोग गीनाथ के पुत्र तिबनी की तरफ हो गए, कि उसे राजा बना दें और आधे ओमरी के.

Then there was a division among the people of Israel; half the people were for making Tibni, son of Ginath, king, and half were supporting Omri.

22 ओमरी के समर्थकों ने गीनाथ के पुत्र तिबनी के समर्थकों को हरा दिया. इसमें तिबनी की मृत्यु भी हो गई, और ओमरी राजा बन गया.

But the supporters of Omri overcame those who were on the side of Tibni, the son of Ginath; and death came to Tibni and to his brother Joram at that time: and Omri became king in the place of Tibni.

23 यहूदिया के राजा आसा के शासनकाल के एकतीसवें साल में ओमरी ने इस्राएल पर शासन शुरू किया. इनमें से उसने छः साल तिरज़ाह नगर में शासन किया.

In the thirty-first year of Asa, king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel, and he was king for twelve years; for six years he was ruling in Tirzah.

24 उसने चौंतीस किलो चांदी देकर शेमेर नामक व्यक्ति से शमरिया की पहाड़ी खरीद ली. उसने पहाड़ी को गढ़ में बदल दिया. उसने इस ज़मीन के मालिक शेमेर के नाम पर इस नगर का नाम शमरिया रख दिया.

He got the hill Samaria from Shemer for the price of two talents of silver, and he made a town there, building it on the hill and naming it Samaria, after Shemer the owner of the hill.

25 ओमरी ने वे काम किए, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत थे. ये काम उन सभी की तुलना में अधिक बुरे थे, जो ओमरी के पहले के राजाओं ने किए थे.

And Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord, even worse than all those before him,

26 उसका स्वभाव हर प्रकार से नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम समान था. जो पाप यरोबोअम ने किए थे, वे पाप उसने इस्राएली प्रजा को करने के लिए भी उकसाया. उन्होंने याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर को अपनी दुष्टता के द्वारा क्रोधित किया.

Copying all the evil ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and all the sins he did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath by their foolish ways.

27 ओमरी द्वारा किए गए बाकी कामों और उसके द्वारा दिखाए शौर्य का ब्यौरा इस्राएल के राजाओं की इतिहास नामक पुस्तक में किया गया है.

Now the rest of the acts which Omri did, and his great power, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?

28 ओमरी की मृत्यु हुई और उसे शमरिया में गाड़ा गया. उसकी जगह पर उसका पुत्र अहाब राजा बना.

So Omri went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria; and Ahab his son became king in his place.

29 यहूदिया के राजा आसा के शासनकाल के अड़तीसवें साल में ओमरी के पुत्र अहाब ने इस्राएल पर शासन शुरू किया. अहाब ने इस्राएल पर बाईस साल शासन किया.

In the thirty-eighth year that Asa was king of Judah, Ahab, the son of Omri, became king over Israel; and Ahab was king in Samaria for twenty-two years.

30 ओमरी के पुत्र अहाब ने वही सब किया, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत थे. यह सब उन सबसे कहीं अधिक गलत था, जो उसके पहले के राजाओं द्वारा किया गया था.

And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the eyes of the Lord, even worse than all who went before him.

31 इसके अलावा, मानो इतना काफ़ी न था, कि उसने वे ही पाप किए, जो नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम द्वारा किए गए थे, उसने सीदोनियों के राजा एथबाल की पुत्री ईजेबेल से विवाह कर लिया और फिर वह जाकर बाल की पूजा-अर्चना करने लगा.

And as if copying the evil ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, was a small thing for him, he took as his wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of Zidon, and became a servant and worshipper of Baal.

32 शमरिया में उसने बाल के लिए एक मंदिर बनवाया. इस मंदिर में उसने बाल के लिए एक वेदी भी बनवाई.

And he put up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he had made in Samaria.

33 अहाब ने अशेरा के खंभे की भी स्थापना की. यह सब करके अहाब ने याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर को उन सब की अपेक्षा अधिक क्रोधित किया, जो उसके पहले के राजाओं ने किया था.

And Ahab made an image of Asherah and did more than all the kings of Israel before him to make the Lord, the God of Israel, angry.

34 इन्हीं दिनों में बेथेल निवासी हिएल ने येरीख़ो नगर को बनाना शुरू किया और जब उसने इसकी नींव डाली तो उसके पहलौठे पुत्र अबीराम की मृत्यु हो गई. और जब वह नगर फाटक, लगवा रहा था, उसके छोटे पुत्र सेगूब की मृत्यु हो गई. यह याहवेह के वचन के अनुसार था, जो उन्होंने नून के पुत्र यहोशू द्वारा बताया था.

In his days Hiel made Jericho; he put its base in position at the price of Abiram, his oldest son, and he put its doors in place at the price of his youngest son Segub; even as the Lord had said by Joshua, the son of Nun.
