1 राजा 11
1 फ़रोह की पुत्री के अलावा शलोमोन को अनेक विदेशी स्त्रियों से प्रेम हो गया था: मोआबी, अम्मोनी, एदोमी, सीदोनी, और हित्ती स्त्रियों से.
But king Solomon loved many foreign women, in addition to the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2 ये वे राष्ट्र थे, जिनके विषय में याहवेह ने इस्राएल को चेतावनी देते हुए कहा था, “तुम न तो उन जनताओं से कोई वैवाहिक संबंध रखना, और न उनका ही तुम्हारे साथ किसी प्रकार का संबंध हो, क्योंकि यह तय है कि वे तुम्हारा हृदय अपने देवताओं की ओर लगा ही लेंगे.” शलोमोन को इन स्त्रियों से गहरा प्रेम हो गया था.
Of the nations concerning which the LORD said to the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon held fast to these in love.
3 शलोमोन ने सात सौ राजकुमारियों से विवाह किया और उनकी तीन सौ उपपत्नियां थी! उनकी पत्नियों ने उनका हृदय परमेश्वर से दूर कर दिया.
And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
4 क्योंकि जब शलोमोन की उम्र ढलने लगी, उनकी पत्नियों ने उनका हृदय पराए देवताओं की ओर कर दिया; उनका हृदय याहवेह, उनके परमेश्वर के लिए पूरी तरह सच्चा नहीं रह गया, जैसे उनके पिता दावीद का था.
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5 शलोमोन ने सीदोनिवासियों की देवी अश्तोरेथ और अम्मोनियों के घृणित देवता मिलकाम की आराधना करनी शुरू कर दी.
For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
6 यह करते हुए शलोमोन ने वह किया जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत था. अब वह पूरी तरह याहवेह के मार्गों पर नहीं चल रहे थे, जैसा दावीद, उनके पिता ने किया था.
And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
7 शलोमोन ने येरूशलेम की पूर्वी पहाड़ी पर मोआब देश के घृणित देवता खेमोश और अम्मोनियों के घृणित देवता मोलेख के आदर में पूजा घर बनवाए.
Then Solomon built an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
8 यही उन्होंने अपनी सभी विदेशी पत्नियों के लिए किया, जो इन पर अपने-अपने देवताओं के लिए बलि चढ़ाया करती और धूप जलाया करती थीं.
And likewise did he for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
9 इन कामों के कारण याहवेह शलोमोन से क्रोधित हो गए, क्योंकि उनका मन याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर से, जिन्होंने दो बार उन्हें दर्शन दिए थे, दूर हो गया था,
And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
10 जिन्होंने उन्हें यह आदेश दिया था कि वह पराए देवताओं के पीछे न चलें. मगर उन्होंने याहवेह के इस आदेश का पालन न किया.
And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
11 इसलिये याहवेह ने शलोमोन से कहा, “तुम्हारे इसी काम के कारण, और इसलिये कि तुमने मेरी वाचा और विधियों का पालन नहीं किया, जिनका मैंने तुम्हें आदेश दिया था, यह तय है कि मैं तुम्हारा राज्य तुमसे छीनकर तुम्हारे सेवक को दे दूंगा.
Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done by thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom away from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12 फिर भी, तुम्हारे पिता दावीद के कारण मैं यह तुम्हारे जीवनकाल में नहीं करूंगा. बल्कि मैं यह तुम्हारे पुत्र के हाथ से छीन लूंगा.
However in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
13 फिर भी मैं पूरा राज्य नहीं छीनूंगा. मैं एक गोत्र तुम्हारे पुत्र के लिए छोड़ दूंगा; मेरे सेवक दावीद और मेरे चुने गए नगर येरूशलेम के कारण.”
Yet I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
14 इसके बाद याहवेह ने शलोमोन के लिए एक शत्रु खड़ा किया; एदोमी हदद, जो एदोम राजा के वंश से था.
And the LORD stirred up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom.
15 जब दावीद एदोम देश में थे और सेनापति योआब मरे हुओं को मिट्टी देने वहां गए हुए थे, उन्होंने एदोम देश के हर एक पुरुष का वध कर दिया था.
For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host had gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
16 योआब और इस्राएल सेना वहां छः महीने तक ठहरी रही थी, जब तक एदोम के हर एक पुरुष की हत्या न कर दी गई.
(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom: )
17 मगर हदद मिस्र देश को भाग चुका था. उसके साथ उसके पिता के एदोमी सेवक भी थे. उस समय हदद सिर्फ छोटा बालक ही था.
That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
18 उसने मिदियान देश से चलना शुरू किया और पारान नामक स्थान पर आ पहुंचा. वहां से कुछ व्यक्तियों को अपने साथ लेकर वे मिस्र देश में फ़रोह की शरण में पहुंच गया. फ़रोह ने उसे एक घर और ज़मीन का टुकड़ा देकर उसके लिए नियमित भोजन की व्यवस्था भी कर दी.
And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them from Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt; who gave him an house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.
19 हदद फ़रोह का प्रिय बन गया, यहां तक कि फ़रोह ने उसका विवाह अपनी पत्नी तहपनीस की बहन से कर दिया.
And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him for a wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
20 उससे उसके एक पुत्र पैदा हुआ. उसका नाम गेनुबाथ रखा; फ़रोह के यहां रहते हुए ही इसने माता का दूध पीना छोड़ दिया था. गेनुबाथ राजमहल में फ़रोह के पुत्रों के साथ ही रहता था.
And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s household among the sons of Pharaoh.
21 मिस्र में रहते हुए ही जब हदद ने यह सुना कि दावीद अब नहीं रहे, और सेनापति योआब की भी मृत्यु हो गई है, हदद ने फ़रोह से विनती की, “मुझे आज्ञा दीजिए कि मैं अपने देश में जा रहूं.”
And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.
22 मगर फ़रोह ने उससे कहा, “मेरे यहां ऐसी क्या कमी है कि तुम अपने देश को जाना चाह रहे हो?” हदद ने उत्तर दिया, “कमी तो कुछ भी नहीं है, मगर फिर भी मुझे जाने दीजिए.”
Then Pharaoh said to him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thy own country? And he answered, Nothing: only let me go.
23 परमेश्वर ने शलोमोन के विरुद्ध एक और शत्रु खड़ा कर दिया: एलियादा का पुत्र रेज़ोन, जो ज़ोबाह के राजा हादेदेज़र अपने स्वामी से बचकर भागा था.
And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
24 दावीद द्वारा की गई हत्याओं के बाद उसने अपने साथ अनेक व्यक्ति जुटा लिए, और वह लूटमार करनेवाले झुण्ड़ का मुखिया बन गया. ये सब दमेशेक जाकर वहां बस गए. वहां इन लोगों ने उसे दमेशेक का राजा बना दिया.
And he gathered men to him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt in it, and reigned in Damascus.
25 शलोमोन के पूरे जीवनकाल में वह इस्राएल का शत्रु ही बना रहा. हदद ने इस्राएल की हानि ही की थी. इसके अलावा रेज़ोन अराम का शासक को इस्राएल से घोर नफरत थी.
And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
26 ज़ेरेदाह नगर से एक एफ्राईमवासी, नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम ने भी, जो शलोमोन का ही सेवक था, जिसकी माता का नाम ज़ेरुआह था, जो विधवा थी, राजा के विरुद्ध सिर उठाया.
And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he raised his hand against the king.
27 राजा के विरुद्ध उसके विद्रोह का कारण यह था: जब शलोमोन मिल्लो को बनवा रहा था और जब उनके पिता दावीद के नगर की शहरपनाह की मरम्मत की जा रही थी,
And this was the cause why he raised his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
28 राजा ने ध्यान दिया कि यरोबोअम शक्तिशाली जवान था, और राजा ने यह भी देखा कि वह मेहनती है, तो राजा ने उसे योसेफ़वंशी दासों का मुखिया बना दिया.
And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
29 जब यरोबोअम येरूशलेम से बाहर गया तो मार्ग में शीलो वासी भविष्यद्वक्ता अहीयाह से उसकी भेंट हो गई. अहीयाह ने नए कपड़े पहने हुए था. सिर्फ ये दोनों इस समय मैदान में खड़े हुए थे.
And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
30 अचानक ही अहीयाह ने अपने उस नए कपड़े को लिया, जिसे वह पहने हुए थे, और उसे फाड़ते हुए बारह भागों में बांट दिया.
And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces:
31 यरोबोअम से उन्होंने कहा, “अपने लिए इनमें से दस भाग उठा लो, क्योंकि याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर ने यह कहा है, ‘यह देख लेना कि मैं शलोमोन के हाथ से छीनकर तुम्हें दस गोत्रों का अधिकार दे दूंगा,
And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom from the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
32 मगर मेरे सेवक दावीद और येरूशलेम नगर के हित में, उसके लिए एक गोत्र दे दिया जाएगा, जिसे मैंने इस्राएल के सारे गोत्रों में से चुन लिया है,
(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel: )
33 क्योंकि उसने मुझे भुलाकर सीदोनियों की देवी अश्तोरेथ की, मोआब के देवता खेमोश की और अम्मोनियों के देवता मिलकाम की पूजा करना शुरू कर दिया है. उसने मेरे नियमों का पालन करना छोड़ दिया है. उसने अपने पिता दावीद के समान वह नहीं किया, जो मेरी नज़रों में सही है, और न ही उसने मेरी विधियों और नियमों का पालन ही किया है.
Because they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
34 “‘यह सब होने पर भी मैं उससे सारा राज्य नहीं छीनूंगा, मैं अपने सेवक दावीद के कारण उसे आजीवन शासक बना रहने दूंगा, जो मेरा चुना हुआ था, जो मेरे आदेशों और नियमों का पालन करता रहा,
Yet I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
35 मगर मैं यह राज्य उसके पुत्र से ज़रूर छीन लूंगा और ये दस गोत्र तुम्हें दे दूंगा.
But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it to thee, even ten tribes.
36 हां, उसके पुत्र को मैं एक गोत्र दे दूंगा, कि येरूशलेम में मेरे सामने मेरे सेवक दावीद का दीप हमेशा जलता रहे. येरूशलेम वह नगर है, जहां मैंने अपनी महिमा करना सही समझा है.
And to his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for me to put my name there.
37 मैं तुम्हें प्रतिष्ठित करूंगा, कि तुम अपनी इच्छा अनुसार शासन कर सकोगे. तुम इस्राएल देश के राजा बन जाओगे.
And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
38 और यदि तुम मेरे आदेश को सुनकर उनका पालन करोगे, मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानोगे, और वही सब करोगे जो मेरी नज़रों में सही है, जैसा मेरे सेवक दावीद ने मेरे नियमों और आदेशों का पालन करने में किया था, मैं तुम्हारे साथ रहूंगा और तुम्हारे वंश को स्थिर करूंगा, जैसा मैंने दावीद के साथ किया. तब मैं तुम्हें इस्राएल की प्रभुता सौंप दूंगा.
And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken to all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to thee.
39 ऐसा करके मैं दावीद के वंशजों को पीड़ित तो करूंगा, मगर यह पीड़ा हमेशा के लिए नहीं होगी.’”
And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
40 यह सुन शलोमोन ने यरोबोअम की हत्या करने की कोशिश की, मगर यरोबोअम मिस्र के राजा शिशाक की शरण में चला गया और शलोमोन की मृत्यु तक वहीं रहा.
Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
41 शलोमोन की बाकी उपलब्धि और उसके द्वारा किए गए सारे सुधारों का ब्योरा शलोमोन के काम नामक पुस्तक में लिखित है.
And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
42 सारे इस्राएल पर शलोमोन ने येरूशलेम से चालीस साल राज किया.
And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
43 शलोमोन अपने पूर्वजों के साथ हमेशा के लिए सो गए. उसका अंतिम संस्कार उसके पिता दावीद के नगर में किया गया. उसका स्थान पर उसका पुत्र रिहोबोयाम राजा बना.
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
