1 यूहन्ना 3

1 विचार तो करो कि कैसा अथाह है हमारे प्रति परमेश्वर पिता का प्रेम, कि हम परमेश्वर की संतान कहलाएं; जो वास्तव में हम हैं. संसार ने परमेश्वर को नहीं पहचाना इसलिये वह हमें भी नहीं पहचानता.

See what marvellous love the Father has bestowed upon us--that we should be called God's children: and that is what we are. For this reason the world does not recognize us--because it has not known Him.

2 प्रिय भाई बहनो, अब हम परमेश्वर की संतान हैं और अब तक यह प्रकट नहीं किया गया है कि भविष्य में हम क्या बन जाएंगे किंतु हम यह अवश्य जानते हैं कि जब वह प्रकट होंगे तो हम उनके समान होंगे तथा उन्हें वैसा ही देखेंगे ठीक जैसे वह हैं.

Dear friends, we are now God's children, but what we are to be in the future has not yet been fully revealed. We know that if Christ reappears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

3 हर एक व्यक्ति, जिसने उनसे यह आशा रखी है, स्वयं को वैसा ही पवित्र रखता है, जैसे वह पवित्र हैं.

And every man who has this hope fixed on Him, purifies himself so as to be as pure as He is.

4 पाप में लीन प्रत्येक व्यक्ति व्यवस्था भंग करने का दोषी है—वास्तव में व्यवस्था भंग करना ही पाप है.

Every one who is guilty of sin is also guilty of violating Law; for sin is the violation of Law.

5 तुम जानते हो कि मसीह येशु का प्रकट होना इसलिये हुआ कि वह पापों को हर ले जाएं. उनमें पाप ज़रा सा भी नहीं.

And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

6 कोई भी व्यक्ति, जो उनमें बना रहता है, पाप नहीं करता रहता; पाप में लीन व्यक्ति ने न तो उन्हें देखा है और न ही उन्हें जाना है.

No one who continues in union with Him lives in sin: no one who lives in sin has seen Him or knows Him.

7 प्रिय भाई बहनो, कोई तुम्हें मार्ग से भटकाने न पाए. जो सही है वही जो करता है; धर्मी वही है जैसे मसीह येशु धर्मी हैं.

Dear children, let no one lead you astray. The man who acts righteously is righteous, just as He is righteous.

8 पाप में लीन हर एक व्यक्ति शैतान से है क्योंकि शैतान प्रारंभ ही से पाप करता रहा है. परमेश्वर-पुत्र का प्रकट होना इसलिये हुआ कि वह शैतान के कामों का नाश कर दें.

He who is habitually guilty of sin is a child of the Devil, because the Devil has been a sinner from the very beginning. The Son of God appeared for the purpose of undoing the work of the Devil.

9 परमेश्वर से उत्पन्‍न कोई भी व्यक्ति पाप में लीन नहीं रहता क्योंकि परमेश्वर का मूल तत्व उसमें बना रहता है. उसमें पाप करते रहने की क्षमता नहीं रह जाती क्योंकि वह परमेश्वर से उत्पन्‍न हुआ है.

No one who is a child of God is habitually guilty of sin. A God-given germ of life remains in him, and he cannot habitually sin--because he is a child of God.

10 परमेश्वर की संतान व शैतान की संतान की पहचान इसी से हो जाती है: कोई भी व्यक्ति, जिसका जीवन धर्मी नहीं है, परमेश्वर से नहीं है और न ही वह, जिसे अपने भाई से प्रेम नहीं है.

By this we can distinguish God's children and the Devil's children: no one who fails to act righteously is a child of God, nor he who does not love his brother man.

11 तुमने आरंभ ही से यह संदेश सुना है कि हममें आपस में प्रेम हो.

For this is the Message you have heard from the beginning--that we are to love one another.

12 हम काइन जैसे न हों, जो उस दुष्ट से था और जिसने अपने भाई की हत्या कर दी. उसने अपने भाई की हत्या किस लिए की? इसलिये कि उसके काम बुरे तथा उसके भाई के काम धार्मिकता के थे.

We are not to resemble Cain, who was a child of the Evil one and killed his own brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own actions were wicked and his brother's actions righteous.

13 यदि संसार तुमसे घृणा करता है, तो, प्रिय भाई बहनो, चकित न हो.

Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.

14 हम जानते हैं कि हम मृत्यु के अधिकार से निकलकर जीवन में प्रवेश कर चुके हैं, क्योंकि हममें आपस में प्रेम है; वह, जिसमें प्रेम नहीं, मृत्यु के अधिकार में ही है.

As for us, we know that we have already passed out of death into Life--because we love our brother men. He who is destitute of love continues dead.

15 हर एक, जो साथी विश्वासी से घृणा करता है, हत्यारा है. तुम्हें यह मालूम है कि किसी भी हत्यारे में अनंत जीवन मौजूद नहीं रहता. (aiōnios g166)

Every one who hates his brother man is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has the Life of the Ages continuing in him. (aiōnios g166)

16 प्रेम क्या है यह हमने इस प्रकार जाना: मसीह येशु ने हमारे लिए प्राणों का त्याग कर दिया. इसलिये हमारा भी एक दूसरे भाई बहनों के लिए अपने प्राणों का त्याग करना सही है.

We know what love is--through Christ's having laid down His life on our behalf; and in the same way we ought to lay down our lives for our brother men.

17 जो कोई संसार की संपत्ति के होते हुए भी साथी विश्वासी की ज़रूरत की अनदेखी करता है, तो कैसे कहा जा सकता है कि उसमें परमेश्वर का प्रेम मौजूद है?

But if any one has this world's wealth and sees that his brother man is in need, and yet hardens his heart against him--how can such a one continue to love God?

18 प्रिय भाई बहनो, हमारे प्रेम की अभिव्यक्ति वचन व मौखिक नहीं परंतु कामों और सच्चाई में हो.

Dear children, let us not love in words only nor with the lips, but in deed and in truth.

19 इसी के द्वारा हमें ढाढस मिलता है कि हम उसी सत्य के हैं. इसी के द्वारा हम परमेश्वर के सामने उन सभी विषयों में आश्वस्त हो सकेंगे.

And in this way we shall come to know that we are loyal to the truth, and shall satisfy our consciences in His presence

20 जब कभी हमारा अंतर्मन हम पर आरोप लगाता रहता है; क्योंकि परमेश्वर हमारे हृदय से बड़े हैं, वह सर्वज्ञानी हैं.

in whatever matters our hearts condemn us--because God is greater than our hearts and knows everything.

21 इसलिये प्रिय भाई बहनो, यदि हमारा मन हम पर आरोप न लगाए तो हम परमेश्वर के सामने निडर बने रहते हैं

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have perfect confidence towards God;

22 तथा हम उनसे जो भी विनती करते हैं, उनसे प्राप्‍त करते हैं क्योंकि हम उनके आदेशों का पालन करते हैं तथा उनकी इच्छा के अनुसार स्वभाव करते हैं.

and whatever we ask for we obtain from Him, because we obey His commands and do the things which are pleasing in His sight.

23 यह परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है: कि हम उनके पुत्र मसीह येशु में विश्वास करें तथा हममें आपस में प्रेम हो जैसा उन्होंने हमें आज्ञा दी है.

And this is His command--that we are to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He has commanded us to do.

24 वह, जो उनके आदेशों का पालन करता है, उनमें स्थिर है और उसके भीतर उनका वास है. इसका अहसास हमें उन्हीं पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा होता है, जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने हमें दिया है.

The man who obeys His commands continues in union with God, and God continues in union with him; and through His Spirit whom He has given us we can know that He continues in union with us.
