1 कुरिन्थियों 9

1 क्या मैं स्वतंत्र नहीं? क्या मैं प्रेरित नहीं? क्या मैंने हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह को साक्षात नहीं देखा? क्या तुम प्रभु में मेरे परिश्रम का फल नहीं?

Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

2 भले ही मैं अन्यों के लिए प्रेरित नहीं किंतु तुम्हारे लिए तो हूं क्योंकि तुम प्रभु में मेरी प्रेरिताई की मोहर हो.

If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

3 जो मुझ पर दोष लगाते हैं, उनसे अपने पक्ष में मेरा यह कहना है:

My defence to them that examine me is this.

4 क्या हमें तुम्हारे भोजन में भाग लेने का अधिकार नहीं?

Have we no right to eat and to drink?

5 क्या अन्य प्रेरितों, प्रभु के भाइयों तथा कैफ़स के समान ही हमें भी अपने साथ अपनी विश्वासी पत्नी को ले जाने का अधिकार नहीं?

Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

6 क्या बारनबास और मैं ही ऐसे हैं, जो खुद अपनी कमाई करने के लिए मजबूर हैं?

Or I only and Barnabas, have we not a right to forbear working?

7 कौन सैनिक ऐसा है, जो सेना में सेवा करते हुए अपना खर्च स्वयं उठाता है? कौन है, जो दाख की बारी को लगाता तो है और स्वयं उसका फल नहीं खाता? या कौन ऐसा पशु पालक है, जो अपने पशुओं के दूध का उपयोग न करता हो?

What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

8 क्या मैं यह सिर्फ मनुष्य की रीति से कह रहा हूं? क्या व्यवस्था भी यही नहीं कहती?

Do I speak these things after the manner of men? or saith not the law also the same?

9 जैसा कि मोशेह की व्यवस्था में लिखा है: दांवनी करते बैल के मुख को मुखबन्धनी न बांधना. क्या परमेश्वर को मात्र बैलों का ही ध्यान है?

For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. Is it for the oxen that God careth,

10 क्या वह यह हमारे लिए भी नहीं कह रहे थे? निःसंदेह यह हमारे हित में ही लिखा गया है: उचित है कि किसान आशा में खेत जोते तथा जो भूसे से अनाज अलग करनेवाला उपज का भाग पाने की आशा करे.

or saith he it assuredly for our sake? Yea, for our sake it was written: because he that ploweth ought to plow in hope, and he that thresheth, [to thresh] in hope of partaking.

11 यदि हमने तुममें आत्मिक बीज बोए हैं तो क्या तुमसे भौतिक उपज की आशा करना ज्यादा उम्मीद करना है?

If we sowed unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we shall reap your carnal things?

12 यदि तुम पर दूसरों का अधिकार है तो क्या तुम पर हमारा अधिकार उन सबसे बढ़कर नहीं? फिर भी हमने इस अधिकार का उपयोग नहीं किया. इसके विपरीत हम सब कुछ धीरज के साथ सहते रहे कि मसीह के ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार के प्रचार में कोई बाधा न आए.

If others partake of [this] right over you, do not we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right; but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

13 क्या तुम्हें मालूम नहीं कि मंदिर में काम करनेवालों का भरण-पोषण मंदिर से ही होता है और जो बलि वेदी पर चढ़ाई जाती है, वे उसी बलि में से अपना भाग प्राप्‍त करते हैं?

Know ye not that they that minister about sacred things eat [of] the things of the temple, [and] they that wait upon the altar have their portion with the altar?

14 इसी प्रकार प्रभु की आज्ञा है कि वे, जो ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का प्रचार करते हैं, उसी के द्वारा अपनी रोज़ी रोटी कमाएं.

Even so did the Lord ordain that they that proclaim the gospel should live of the gospel.

15 किंतु मैंने इनमें से किसी भी अधिकार का उपयोग नहीं किया और न ही मैं इस उद्देश्य से लिख रहा हूं कि मेरे लिए कुछ किया जाए. इसके बजाय कि कोई मुझे मेरे इस गौरव से वंचित करे, मैं मर जाना उचित समझता हूं,

But I have used none of these things: and I write not these things that it may be so done in my case; for [it were] good for me rather to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

16 तो यदि मैं ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का प्रचार करता हूं तो इसमें घमंड कैसा! यह तो मुझे सौंपी गई ज़िम्मेदारी है! धिक्कार है मुझ पर यदि मैं ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का प्रचार न करूं.

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.

17 यदि मैं अपनी इच्छा से प्रचार करता हूं तो मुझे उसका प्रतिफल प्राप्‍त होगा किंतु यदि मैं प्रचार बिना इच्छा के करता हूं तो यह मात्र ज़िम्मेदारी पूरी करना ही हुआ.

For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine own will, I have a stewardship intrusted to me.

18 तब क्या है मेरा प्रतिफल? यही कि मैं ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का प्रचार मुफ्त में करता रहूं और इससे संबंधित अपने अधिकारों का उपयोग न करूं.

What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel.

19 यद्यपि मैं किसी के भी अधीन नहीं हूं फिर भी मैंने स्वयं को सबका दास बना लिया है कि मैं ज्यादा से ज्यादा को जीत सकूं.

For though I was free from all [men], I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.

20 मैं यहूदियों के लिए यहूदियों जैसा बन गया कि मैं उन्हें जीत सकूं. व्यवस्था के अधीनों के लिए मैं व्यवस्था के अधीन बन गया—यद्यपि मैं स्वयं व्यवस्था के अधीन नहीं—कि मैं उन्हें जीत सकूं, जो व्यवस्था के अधीन हैं.

And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, not being myself under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

21 जो व्यवस्था के अधीन नहीं हैं, मैं उन्हीं के समान बन गया—यद्यपि मैं स्वयं परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था से स्वतंत्र नहीं, मसीह की व्यवस्था के अधीनस्थ हूं कि मैं उन्हें जीत सकूं, जो व्यवस्था के अधीन नहीं हैं.

to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law.

22 दुर्बलों के लिए मैं स्वयं दुर्बल बन गया कि मैं उन्हें जीत सकूं—मैं हर एक प्रकार के व्यक्ति के लिए उन्हीं के अनुरूप बन गया कि किसी न किसी रीति से मेरे हर एक प्रयास द्वारा कुछ का उद्धार हो जाए.

To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak: I am become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

23 मैं यह सब ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार के लिए करता हूं कि मैं इसमें अन्यों का सहभागी बन जाऊं.

And I do all things for the gospel’s sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof.

24 क्या तुम नहीं जानते कि प्रतियोगिता में दौड़ते तो सभी हैं किंतु पुरस्कार मात्र एक को ही मिलता है. तुम ऐसे दौड़ो कि पुरस्कार तुम्हें प्राप्‍त हो.

Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain.

25 हर एक प्रतियोगी, जो प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेता है, कठोर संयम का पालन करता है. वे तो नाशमान मुकुट प्राप्‍त करने के उद्देश्य से यह सब करते हैं किंतु हम यह सब अविनाशी मुकुट प्राप्‍त करने के लिए करते हैं.

And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they [do it] to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 मैं लक्ष्यहीन व्यक्ति के समान नहीं दौड़ता. मैं हवा में घूंसे नहीं मारता.

I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air:

27 मैं अपने शरीर को कष्ट देते हुए अपने वश में रखता हूं—ऐसा न हो कि मैं दूसरों को तो उपदेश दूं और स्वयं अयोग्य करार हो जाऊं.

but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
