1 कुरिन्थियों 14

1 इसलिये प्रेम का स्वभाव रखते हुए आत्मिक वरदानों की बड़ी इच्छा करते रहो—विशेष रूप से भविष्यवाणी करने के वर की.

Follow after love, and be emulous of spiritual [manifestations], but rather that ye may prophesy.

2 वह, जो अन्य भाषा में विचार प्रकट करता है, मनुष्यों से नहीं, परमेश्वर से बातें करता है. सच्चाई तो यह है कि कोई भी सुननेवाला उसकी भाषा नहीं समझता—वह पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई के द्वारा गूढ़ सच्चाई प्रकट करता है.

For he that speaks with a tongue does not speak to men but to God: for no one hears; but in spirit he speaks mysteries.

3 किंतु वह, जो भविष्यवाणी करता है, आत्मिक उन्‍नति, प्रोत्साहन तथा धीरज के लिए मनुष्यों को संबोधित करता है;

But he that prophesies speaks to men [in] edification, and encouragement, and consolation.

4 वह, जो अन्य भाषा में संदेश सुनाता है, मात्र स्वयं को उन्‍नत करता है किंतु वह, जो भविष्यवाणी करता है, कलीसिया को उन्‍नत करता है.

He that speaks with a tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies [the] assembly.

5 मैं चाहता तो हूं कि तुममें से हर एक को अन्य भाषाओं की क्षमता प्राप्‍त हो किंतु इसकी बजाय बेहतर यह होगा कि तुम्हें भविष्यवाणी की क्षमता प्राप्‍त हो; क्योंकि वह, जो भविष्यवाणी करता है, उस अन्य भाषा बोलनेवाले से, जो अनुवाद किए बिना अन्य भाषा में बातें करता है, बेहतर है क्योंकि अनुवाद किए जाने पर ही कलीसिया की उन्‍नति संभव हो सकती है.

Now I desire that ye should all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy. But greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interpret, that the assembly may receive edification.

6 प्रिय भाई बहनो, यदि मैं तुमसे अन्य भाषाओं में बातें करूं तो मैं इसमें तुम्हारा क्या भला करूंगा यदि इसमें तुम्हारे लिए कोई प्रकाशन या ज्ञान या भविष्यवाणी या शिक्षा न हो?

And now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I shall speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching?

7 निर्जीव वस्तुएं भी ध्वनि उत्पन्‍न करती हैं, चाहे बांसुरी हो या कोई तार-वाद्य. यदि उनसे उत्पन्‍न स्वरों में भिन्‍नता न हो तो यह कैसे मालूम होगा कि कौन सा वाद्य बजाया जा रहा है?

Even lifeless things giving a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they give not distinction to the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8 यदि बिगुल का स्वर अस्पष्ट हो तो युद्ध के लिए तैयार कौन होगा?

For also, if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for war?

9 इसी प्रकार यदि अन्य भाषा में बातें करते हुए तुम्हारे बोले हुए शब्द साफ़ न हों तो कौन समझेगा कि क्या कहा जा रहा है? यह तो हवा से बातें करना हुआ.

Thus also ye with the tongue, unless ye give a distinct speech, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye will be speaking to the air.

10 विश्व में न जाने कितनी भाषाएं हैं और उनमें से कोई भी व्यर्थ नहीं.

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of undistinguishable sound.

11 यदि मैं किसी की भाषा न समझ पाऊं तो मैं उसके लिए और वह मेरे लिए विदेशी हुआ.

If therefore I do not know the power of the sound, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks a barbarian for me.

12 इसी प्रकार तुम भी, जो आत्मिक वरदानों के प्रति इतने उत्सुक हो, उन क्षमताओं के उपयोग के लिए ऐसे प्रयासरत रहो कि उनसे कलीसिया का पूरी तरह विकास हो.

Thus ye also, since ye are desirous of spirits, seek that ye may abound for the edification of the assembly.

13 इसलिये वह, जो अन्य भाषा में बातें करता है, प्रार्थना करे कि उसे उसका वर्णन तथा अनुवाद करने की क्षमता भी प्राप्‍त हो जाए.

Wherefore let him that speaks with a tongue pray that he may interpret.

14 जब मैं अन्य भाषा में प्रार्थना करता हूं तो मेरी आत्मा तो प्रार्थना करती रहती है किंतु मेरा मस्तिष्क निष्फल रहता है,

For if I pray with a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15 तो सही क्या है? यही न कि मैं आत्मा से प्रार्थना करूं और समझ से भी. मैं आत्मा से गाऊंगा और समझ से भी गाऊंगा.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing also with the understanding.

16 यदि तुम सिर्फ आत्मा में स्तुति करते हो तो वहां उपस्थित अनजान व्यक्ति तुम्हारे धन्यवाद के अंत में “आमेन” कैसे कहेगा, क्योंकि उसे तो यह मालूम ही नहीं कि तुम कह क्या रहे हो?

Since otherwise, if thou blessest with [the] spirit, how shall he who fills the place of the simple [Christian] say Amen, at thy giving of thanks, since he does not know what thou sayest?

17 निःसंदेह तुमने तो सुंदर रीति से धन्यवाद प्रकट किया किंतु इससे उस व्यक्ति का कुछ भी भला नहीं हुआ.

For thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 मैं परमेश्वर का आभारी हूं कि मैं तुम सबसे अधिक अन्य भाषाओं में बातें करता हूं.

I thank God I speak in a tongue more than all of you:

19 फिर भी कलीसिया सभा में शिक्षा देने के उद्देश्य से मैं सोच समझकर मात्र पांच शब्द ही कहना सही समझता हूं इसकी बजाय कि मैं अन्य भाषा के दस हज़ार शब्द कहूं.

but in [the] assembly I desire to speak five words with my understanding, that I may instruct others also, [rather] than ten thousand words in a tongue.

20 प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुम्हारी समझ बालकों के समान नहीं, सयानों के समान हो. तुम सिर्फ बुराई के लिए बालक बने रहो.

Brethren, be not children in [your] minds, but in malice be babes; but in [your] minds be grown [men].

21 पवित्र शास्त्र का लेख है: मैं अन्य भाषा बोलने वालों तथा अनजान लोगों के मुख से अपनी प्रजा से बातें करूंगा; फिर भी वे मेरी न सुनेंगे; यह प्रभु का वचन है.

It is written in the law, By people of other tongues, and by strange lips, will I speak to this people; and neither thus will they hear me, saith the Lord.

22 इसलिये अन्य भाषाओं में बातें करना विश्वासियों के लिए नहीं परंतु अविश्वासियों के लिए चिह्न का रूप है किंतु भविष्यवाणी करना अविश्वासियों के लिए नहीं परंतु मसीह के विश्वासियों के लिए चिह्न स्वरूप है.

So that tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to unbelievers; but prophecy, not to unbelievers, but to those who believe.

23 यदि सारी कलीसिया इकट्ठा हो और प्रत्येक व्यक्ति अन्य भाषा में बातें करने लगे और उसी समय वहां ऐसे व्यक्ति प्रवेश करें, जो ये भाषाएं नहीं समझते या अविश्वासी हैं, तो क्या वे तुम्हें पागल न समझेंगे?

If therefore the whole assembly come together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and simple [persons] enter in, or unbelievers, will not they say ye are mad?

24 किंतु यदि सभी भविष्यवाणी करें और वहां कोई ऐसा व्यक्ति प्रवेश करे, जिसे यह क्षमता प्राप्‍त न हो, या वहां कोई अविश्वासी प्रवेश करे तो उसे अपनी पाप की अवस्था का अहसास हो जाएगा, वह अपने विवेक को टटोलेगा

But if all prophesy, and some unbeliever or simple [person] come in, he is convicted of all, he is judged of all;

25 और उसके हृदय के भेद खुल जाएंगे. तब वह यह घोषणा करते हुए कि निश्चय ही परमेश्वर तुम्हारे बीच मौजूद हैं, दंडवत हो परमेश्वर की वंदना करने लगेगा.

the secrets of his heart are manifested; and thus, falling upon [his] face, he will do homage to God, reporting that God is indeed amongst you.

26 तब, प्रिय भाई बहनो, निष्कर्ष क्या निकला? जब तुम आराधना के लिए इकट्ठा होते हो, तो तुममें से कोई तो गीत प्रस्तुत करता है, कोई उपदेश देता है, कोई प्रभु के द्वारा दिया गया प्रकाशन प्रस्तुत करता है, कोई अन्य भाषा में बातें करता तथा कोई उसका अनुवाद करता है. प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुम जो कुछ करो वह कलीसिया की उन्‍नति के लिए हो.

What is it then, brethren? whenever ye come together, each [of you] has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.

27 जहां तक अन्य भाषा में बातें करने का प्रश्न है, अधिक से अधिक दो या तीन व्यक्ति ही क्रमानुसार यह करें तथा कोई व्यक्ति उसका अनुवाद भी करे.

If any one speak with a tongue, [let it be] two, or at the most three, and separately, and let one interpret;

28 यदि वहां कोई अनुवाद करनेवाला न हो तो वे चुप रहें और उनकी बातें उनके तथा परमेश्वर के बीच सीमित रहे.

but if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in [the] assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.

29 भविष्यवाणी मात्र दो या तीन व्यक्ति ही करें और बाकी उनके वचन को परखें.

And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.

30 यदि उसी समय किसी पर ईश्वरीय प्रकाशन हो, तो वह, जो इस समय भविष्यवाणी कर रहा है, शांत हो जाए,

But if there be a revelation to another sitting [there], let the first be silent.

31 तुम सब एक-एक करके भविष्यवाणी कर सकते हो कि सभी को शिक्षा और प्रोत्साहन प्राप्‍त हो सके.

For ye can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all be encouraged.

32 भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का अपनी आत्मा पर पूरा नियंत्रण रहता है.

And spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

33 परमेश्वर गड़बड़ी के नहीं, शांति के परमेश्वर हैं—पवित्र लोगों की सभी आराधना सभाओं के लिए सही यही है,

For God is not [a God] of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

34 कि सभाओं में स्त्रियां चुप रहें—उनको वहां बात करने की अनुमति नहीं है. व्यवस्था के अनुसार सही है कि वे अधीन बनी रहें.

Let [your] women be silent in the assemblies, for it is not permitted to them to speak; but to be in subjection, as the law also says.

35 यदि वास्तव में उनकी जिज्ञासा का कोई विषय हो तो वे घर पर अपने पति से पूछ लिया करें; क्योंकि आराधना सभा में स्त्री का कुछ भी बोलना ठीक नहीं है.

But if they wish to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is a shame for a woman to speak in assembly.

36 क्या परमेश्वर का वचन तुमसे निकला है? या सिर्फ तुम पर ही परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रकाशन हुआ है?

Did the word of God go out from you, or did it come to you only?

37 यदि कोई स्वयं को भविष्यवक्ता या आत्मिक व्यक्ति समझता है तो वह यह जान ले कि मैं तुम्हें जो कुछ लिख रहा हूं, वे सब प्रभु की आज्ञाएं हैं.

If any one thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognise the things that I write to you, that it is [the] Lord's commandment.

38 यदि कोई इस सच्चाई को नहीं मानता है, वह स्वयं भी माना न जाएगा.

But if any be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 इसलिये, प्रिय भाई बहनो, भविष्यवाणी करने की क्षमता की इच्छा करते रहो, अन्य भाषा बोलने से मना न करो.

So that, brethren, desire to prophesy, and do not forbid the speaking with tongues.

40 तुम जो कुछ करो, वह शालीनता तथा व्यवस्थित रूप में किया जाए.

But let all things be done comelily and with order.
