1 दावीद और सेनापतियों ने मिलकर आसफ, हेमान और यदूथून के पुत्रों को अलग कर दिया कि जब वे नेबेल और किन्‍नोर नामक वाद्य यंत्र और झांझ बजाएं, वे भविष्यवाणी किया करें. जिन्हें इस सेवा की जवाबदारी सौंपी गई थी, उनकी सूची इस प्रकार है.

Then David and the magistrates of the army set apart, for the ministry, the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with harps and psalteries and cymbals, in accord with their number, having been dedicated to their appointed office.

2 आसफ के पुत्रों में से: ज़क्‍कूर, योसेफ़, नेथनियाह और आषारेलाह. आसफ के पुत्र खुद आसफ की अगुवाई में सेवा करते थे, आसफ राजा के आदेश पर भविष्यवाणी करते थे.

From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, prophesying beside the king.

3 यदूथून-वंशज: यदूथून के वंशज थे गेदालियाह, ज़ेरी, येशाइयाह, शिमेई, हशाबियाह और मत्तीथियाह, ये छः अपने पिता यदूथून के साथ किन्‍नोर वाद्य यंत्र के संगीत में याहवेह की स्तुति करते, उनके प्रति धन्यवाद प्रकट करते और भविष्यवाणी करते थे.

Then of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, and Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hand of their father Jeduthun, who was prophesying with stringed instruments, while confessing and praising the Lord.

4 हेमान वंशज: हेमान के पुत्र थे बुक्कियाह, मत्तनियाह, उज्ज़िएल, शुबेल और येरीमोथ, हननियाह, हनानी, एलियाथाह, गिद्दालती और रोमामती-एत्सर, योषबेकाषाह, मल्लोथी, होथीर, माहाज़ीयोथ.

Also, of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, and Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

5 (ये सभी राजा के दर्शी हेमान के पुत्र थे. इनकी जवाबदारी थी परमेश्वर के आदेश के अनुसार उनकी स्तुति करते रहना; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हेमान को चौदह पुत्र और तीन पुत्रियां दी थी.)

All these were the sons of Heman, the seer of the king in the words of God, in order to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 ये सभी याहवेह के भवन में उनके पिता की ही अगुवाई में, परमेश्वर के भवन की आराधना में झांझों, नेबेलों और किन्‍नोरों के संगीत पर गाने के लिए चुने गये थे. आसफ, यदूथून और हेमान राजा के सामने उनकी अगुवाई में काम करते थे.

All these, under their father’s hand, were distributed in order to sing in the temple of the Lord, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, in the ministry of the house of the Lord beside the king, specifically, Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman.

7 सभी कुशल संगीतकारों और याहवेह के लिए गाने के लिए निपुण गायकों की, उनके संबंधियों के साथ कुल संख्या 288 थी.

Now the number of these, with their brothers, who were instructing in the song of the Lord, all the teachers, were two hundred eighty-eight.

8 इन सभी ने अपनी ज़िम्मेदारियों का ज़िम्मा लेने के उद्देश्य से पासे फेंके-सभी ने, चाहे खास हो या सामान्य, शिक्षक हो या विद्यार्थी.

And they cast lots in their turns, the elder equally with the younger, the learned together with the unlearned.

9 पहला संकेत आसफ से योसेफ़ के लिए था, उसके पुत्र और संबंधी, कुल 12 व्यक्ति, दूसरा गेदालियाह, उसके पुत्र और संबंधी, कुल 12 व्यक्ति,

And the first lot went forth to Joseph, who was of Asaph; the second went forth to Gedaliah, to him and his sons and his brothers, twelve.

10 तीसरे में ज़क्‍कूर, उसके पुत्र और संबंधी, कुल 12 व्यक्ति,

The third went to Zaccur, to his sons and brothers, twelve.

11 चौथे में इज़री, उसके पुत्र और संबंधी, कुल 12 व्यक्ति,

The fourth went to Izri, to his sons and brothers, twelve.

12 पांचवें में नेथनियाह, उसके पुत्र और संबंधी, कुल 12 व्यक्ति,

The fifth went to Nethaniah, to his sons and brothers, twelve.
