1 कुछ समय बाद दावीद ने फिलिस्तीनियों को युद्ध में हराया और फिलिस्तीनियों के कब्जे के गाथ और उसके आस-पास के गांव उनके अधिकार से छीन लिए.
And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them; and he took Gath and its dependent towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 दावीद ने मोआब देश को भी हराया और मोआब के लोग दावीद के सेवक हो गए. वे दावीद को कर देने लगे.
And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.
3 दावीद ने ज़ोबाह के राजा हादेदेज़र को भी हामाथ तक जाकर हराया क्योंकि हादेदेज़र फरात नदी के तट पर एक स्मारक बनाने की योजना बना रहा था.
David also smote Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, at Chamath, as he went to establish his dominion at the river Euphrates.
4 दावीद ने हादेदेज़र से 1,000 रथ, 7,000 घुड़सवार और 20,000 पैदल सैनिक छीन लिए और रथों के घोड़ों के पैंरो की प्रमुख नस काट दी, किंतु सौ रथों में इस्तेमाल के लिए पर्याप्त घोड़ों को छोड़ दिया.
And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot; and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.
5 जब ज़ोबाह के राजा हादेदेज़र की सहायता के लिए दमेशेक से अरामी वहां आए, दावीद ने 22,000 अरामियों को मार दिया.
And the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 दावीद ने दमेशेक के अरामी सैनिकों के बीच एक रक्षक सेना ठहरा दी. अरामी दावीद के सेवक बन गए और उन्हें कर देने लगे, दावीद जहां कहीं गए, उन्हें याहवेह की सहायता मिलती रही.
Then did David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became unto David servants, bringing presents. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
7 हादेदेज़र के सेवकों द्वारा ले जाई गई सोने की ढालों को दावीद ने लाकर येरूशलेम में रख दिया.
And David took the quivers of gold that were on the servants of Hadar'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 इसके अलावा दावीद हादेदेज़र के नगर तिभाह और कून से भारी मात्रा में कांसा ले आए, जिनसे शलोमोन ने पानी रखने के बर्तन, खंभे और दूसरे बर्तन बनाए थे.
And from Tibchath, and from Kun, cities of Hadar'ezer, did David take exceedingly much copper; thereof made Solomon the copper sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of copper.
9 जब हामाथ के राजा तोऊ ने यह सुना कि दावीद ने ज़ोबाह के राजा हादेदेज़र की संपूर्ण सेना को हरा दिया है,
And when To'u the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah:
10 उसने अपने पुत्र हादरोम को राजा दावीद से भेंट करने के लिए भेजा, कि वह राजा को बधाई दे सके; क्योंकि दावीद ने हादेदेज़र से युद्ध कर उसे हरा दिया था. हादेदेज़र तोऊ से युद्ध करता रहा था. राजा तोऊ ने अपने पुत्र के साथ सोने, चांदी और कांसे की तरह-तरह की वस्तुएं भेजी थी.
Then did he send Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadar'ezer, and smitten him: for Hadar'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'u; and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and copper.
11 राजा दावीद ने इन सभी वस्तुओं को उन वस्तुओं के साथ याहवेह को समर्पित कर दी, जो वह उन सभी पराजित देशों यानी एदोम, मोआब, अम्मोन के वंशजों, फिलिस्तीनियों और अमालेक से लेकर आए थे.
Also these did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he had carried away from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek.
12 इसके अलावा ज़ेरुइयाह के पुत्र अबीशाई ने नमक की घाटी में 18,000 सैनिकों की एदोमी सेना को हराया.
And Abshai the son of Zeruyah smote of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand [men].
13 दावीद ने एदोम में गढ़ रक्षक सेना बना दी; सभी एदोमवासी दावीद के सेवक हो गए. दावीद जहां कहीं हमला करते थे, याहवेह ने उन्हें सफलता प्रदान की.
And he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants unto David. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
14 दावीद सारे इस्राएल के शासक थे, उन्होंने अपनी सारी प्रजा के लिए न्याय और सच्चाई की व्यवस्था की थी.
And David reigned over all Israel, and he did what is just and right unto all his people.
15 ज़ेरुइयाह के पुत्र योआब सेना पर अधीक्षक था और अहीलूद के पुत्र यहोशाफ़ात लेखापाल था;
And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud, recorder.
16 अहीतूब के पुत्र सादोक और अबीयाथर के पुत्र अहीमेलेख पुरोहित थे और शावसा उनका सचिव था;
And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Abimelech the son of Ebyathar, were [the] priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
17 यहोयादा का पुत्र बेनाइयाह केरेथि और पेलेथी नगरवासियों पर मुख्य अधिकारी बनाया गया था; दावीद के पुत्र दावीद के साथ उच्च अधिकारी थे.
And Benayahu the son of Jehoyada' was over the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the first at the side of the king.
