אֶל־הָרוֹמִיִּים 3
| ועתה מה הוא יתרון היהודי ומה היא תועלת המילה׃ | 1 |
What then is the excellence of the Jihudoya, and what the profit of circumcision?
| הרבה מכל פנים בראשון כי הפקדו בידם דברי אלהים׃ | 2 |
Much in every thing: primarily that they had intrusted (to them) the words of Aloha.
| כי מה הוא אם מקצתם לא האמינו היבטל חסרון אמונתם את אמונת אלהים׃ | 3 |
For if some of them believed not, would their unbelief abolish the faithfulness of Aloha?
| חלילה אבל יהי האל הוא הנאמן וכל האדם כזב ככתוב למען תצדק בדברך תזכה בשפטך׃ | 4 |
Not so: for Aloha is true, and every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mayest be just in thy words, And triumph when they judge thee.
| ואם עולתנו תרומם את צדקת האלהים מה נאמר הכי יש עול באלהים המשלח חרון אפו לפי דרך בני אדם אנכי מדבר׃ | 5 |
But if our iniquity the righteousness of Aloha establisheth, what shall we say? Is Aloha evil, who bringeth his wrath? As a man do I speak.
| חלילה שאם כן איך ישפט האלהים את העולם׃ | 6 |
Not so; otherwise how shall Aloha judge the world?
| כי אם על ידי כזבי תרבה ותפרץ אמת אלהים לתהלתו למה זה אני אשפט עוד כחוטא׃ | 7 |
For if the truth of Aloha is promoted by my lie unto his glory, why then am I judged as a sinner?
| ולא נעשה כדבר מחרפינו ומקצת מוציאי דבה עלינו לאמר הנה אמרים נעשה הרע למען יצא הטוב אשר דינם יבא עליהם בצדק׃ | 8 |
Or why, as certain blaspheme concerning us, affirming that we say, Let us do evil, that good may come? they, whose condemnation is reserved by justice.
| ועתה מה הוא היש לנו מעלה יתרה לא במאומה כבר הוכחנו כי גם היהודים גם היונים כלם הם תחת החטא׃ | 9 |
What then, have we attained excellence? (No.) For before we decided of the Jihudoyee and of the Aramoyee that they are all under sin;
| ככתוב אין צדיק אין גם אחד׃ | 10 |
as it is written, None is righteous, not one.
| אין משכיל אין דרש את אלהים׃ | 11 |
None understandeth or seeketh Aloha.
| הכל סר יחדו נאלחו אין עשה טוב אין גם אחד׃ | 12 |
All have declined together and are reprobate, And there is none that doeth good, not one.
| קבר פתוח גרונם לשונם יחליקון חמת עכשוב תחת שפתימו׃ | 13 |
Open sepulchres are their throats, Their tongues have deceived, And the venom of asps is under their lips.
| אשר אלה פיהם מלא ומררות׃ | 14 |
Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness,
| רגליהם ימהרו לשפך דם׃ | 15 |
And their feet are swift to shed blood.
| שד ושבר במסלותם׃ | 16 |
Crushing and misery are in their ways;
| ודרך שלום לא ידעו׃ | 17 |
And the way of peace they have not known;
| אין פחד אלהים לנגד עיניהם׃ | 18 |
And the fear of Aloha is not before their eyes.
| ואנחנו ידענו כי כל מה שאמרה התורה מדברת אל אלה אשר תחת התורה למען יסכר כל פה והיה כל העולם מחיב לפני אלהים׃ | 19 |
BUT we know that whatever the law saith, to them who are under the law it saith: that every mouth may be shut, and all the world be guilty unto Aloha.
| יען אשר ממעשי התורה לא יצדק לפניו כל בשר כי על ידי התורה דעת החטא׃ | 20 |
Because by the works of the law no flesh is justified before him; for from the law sin is known.
| ועתה בבלי תורה צדקת אלהים לאור יצאה אשר העידו עליה התורה והנביאים׃ | 21 |
But now, without the law the righteousness of Aloha is revealed, and the law and the prophets (themselves) testify of it.
| והיא צדקת אלהים באמונת ישוע המשיח אל כל ועל כל אשר האמינו בו כי אין הבדל׃ | 22 |
But the righteousness of Aloha is by faith of Jeshu Meshiha, unto all and also upon all who believe in him. For there is no distinction:
| כי כלם חטאו וחסרי כבוד אלהים המה׃ | 23 |
for all have sinned, and have failed of the glory of Aloha;
| ונצדקו חנם בחסדו על ידי הפדות אשר היתה במשיח ישוע׃ | 24 |
and all are justified by grace freely, and (that) through the redemption which is in Jeshu Meshiha,
| אשר שמו האלהים לפנינו לכפרת על ידי האמונה בדמו להראות את צדקתו אחרי אשר העביר את החטאים שנעשו לפנים בעת חמלת אלהים׃ | 25 |
whom Aloha before ordained (to be) a propitiation through faith in his blood for our sins which from the first we had sinned, within the space which Aloha hath given to us in his patience,
| להראות את צדקתו בעת הזאת להיותו צדיק ומצדיק את בן אמונת ישוע׃ | 26 |
unto the manifestation of his righteousness which (is) in this time: that he might be just, and might justify in righteousness him who is in the faith of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
| ועתה איה ההתהללות הלא נשבתה ועל ידי תורת מה העל ידי תורת המעשים לא כי על ידי תורת האמונה׃ | 27 |
Where, then, is boasting? It is abolished. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith.
| לכן נחשב כי באמונה יצדק האדם בבלי מעשי תורה׃ | 28 |
We comprehend, therefore, that by faith man is justified, and not by the works of the law.
| או האלהים רק אלהי היהודים הלא גם אלהי הגוים אכן גם אלהי הגוים הוא׃ | 29 |
Is Aloha of the Jihudoyee only, and not of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also
| כי אחד האלהים המצדיק את המולים מתוך האמונה ואת הערלים על ידי האמונה׃ | 30 |
Because one is Aloha, who justifieth the circumcision by faith, also the uncircumcision by the same faith.
| ועתה המבטלים אנחנו את התורה על ידי האמונה חלילה אך מקימים אנחנו את התורה׃ | 31 |
Do we therefore the law abolish by faith? Not so, but the law itself we establish.
