תהילים 97

1 יהוה מלך תגל הארץ ישמחו איים רבים׃

The Lord reigneth: let the earth be glad; let the multitude of isles rejoice.

2 ענן וערפל סביביו צדק ומשפט מכון כסאו׃

Clouds and thick darkness are round about him: righteousness and justice are the support of his throne.

3 אש לפניו תלך ותלהט סביב צריו׃

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up round about his adversaries.

4 האירו ברקיו תבל ראתה ותחל הארץ׃

His lightnings give light to the world: the earth seeth it, and trembleth.

5 הרים כדונג נמסו מלפני יהוה מלפני אדון כל הארץ׃

The mountains melt away like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

6 הגידו השמים צדקו וראו כל העמים כבודו׃

The heavens tell of his righteousness, and all the people his glory.

7 יבשו כל עבדי פסל המתהללים באלילים השתחוו לו כל אלהים׃

Made ashamed shall be all that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: unto him bow down all the gods.

8 שמעה ותשמח ציון ותגלנה בנות יהודה למען משפטיך יהוה׃

Zion heareth it, and rejoiceth; and glad are the daughters of Judah, because of thy decrees, O Lord.

9 כי אתה יהוה עליון על כל הארץ מאד נעלית על כל אלהים׃

For thou, O Lord, art the most high above all the earth: thou art greatly exalted above all gods.

10 אהבי יהוה שנאו רע שמר נפשות חסידיו מיד רשעים יצילם׃

Ye that love the Lord, hate ye the evil: he preserveth the souls of his pious ones; out of the hand of the wicked he ever delivereth them.

11 אור זרע לצדיק ולישרי לב שמחה׃

Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.

12 שמחו צדיקים ביהוה והודו לזכר קדשו׃

Rejoice, ye righteous, in the Lord, and give thanks to his holy memorial.
