1 בן חכם מוסר אב ולץ לא שמע גערה׃

2 מפרי פי איש יאכל טוב ונפש בגדים חמס׃

from fruit lip man to eat good and soul: appetite to act treacherously violence

3 נצר פיו שמר נפשו פשק שפתיו מחתה לו׃

to watch lip his to keep: guard soul: life his to open lips his terror to/for him

4 מתאוה ואין נפשו עצל ונפש חרצים תדשן׃

to desire and nothing soul his sluggish and soul sharp to prosper

5 דבר שקר ישנא צדיק ורשע יבאיש ויחפיר׃

word: because deception to hate righteous and wicked to stink and be ashamed

6 צדקה תצר תם דרך ורשעה תסלף חטאת׃

righteousness to watch integrity way: conduct and wickedness to pervert sin

7 יש מתעשר ואין כל מתרושש והון רב׃

there to enrich and nothing all be poor and substance many

8 כפר נפש איש עשרו ורש לא שמע גערה׃

9 אור צדיקים ישמח ונר רשעים ידעך׃

light righteous to rejoice and lamp wicked to put out

10 רק בזדון יתן מצה ואת נועצים חכמה׃

11 הון מהבל ימעט וקבץ על יד ירבה׃

substance from vanity to diminish and to gather upon hand to multiply

12 תוחלת ממשכה מחלה לב ועץ חיים תאוה באה׃

hope to draw be weak: ill heart and tree life desire to come (in): fulfill

13 בז לדבר יחבל לו וירא מצוה הוא ישלם׃

to despise to/for word to destroy to/for him and afraid commandment he/she/it to complete

14 תורת חכם מקור חיים לסור ממקשי מות׃

instruction wise fountain life to/for to turn aside: depart from snare death

15 שכל טוב יתן חן ודרך בגדים איתן׃

understanding pleasant to give: give favor and way: conduct to act treacherously strong

16 כל ערום יעשה בדעת וכסיל יפרש אולת׃

17 מלאך רשע יפל ברע וציר אמונים מרפא׃

18 ריש וקלון פורע מוסר ושומר תוכחת יכבד׃

19 תאוה נהיה תערב לנפש ותועבת כסילים סור מרע׃

20 הלוך את חכמים וחכם ורעה כסילים ירוע׃

21 חטאים תרדף רעה ואת צדיקים ישלם טוב׃

22 טוב ינחיל בני בנים וצפון לצדיק חיל חוטא׃

23 רב אכל ניר ראשים ויש נספה בלא משפט׃

24 חושך שבטו שונא בנו ואהבו שחרו מוסר׃
