שופטים 13

1 ויספו בני ישראל לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה ויתנם יהוה ביד פלשתים ארבעים שנה׃

And they repeated [the] people of Israel to do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he gave them Yahweh in [the] hand of [the] Philistines forty year[s].

2 ויהי איש אחד מצרעה ממשפחת הדני ושמו מנוח ואשתו עקרה ולא ילדה׃

And he was a man one from Zorah from [the] clan of the Danite[s] and name his [was] Manoah and wife his [was] barren and not she had borne children.

3 וירא מלאך יהוה אל האשה ויאמר אליה הנה נא את עקרה ולא ילדת והרית וילדת בן׃

And he appeared [the] angel of Yahweh to the woman and he said to her here! please you [are] barren and not you have borne children and you will conceive and you will bear a son.

4 ועתה השמרי נא ואל תשתי יין ושכר ואל תאכלי כל טמא׃

And therefore take care please and may not you drink wine and strong drink and may not you eat any unclean [thing].

5 כי הנך הרה וילדת בן ומורה לא יעלה על ראשו כי נזיר אלהים יהיה הנער מן הבטן והוא יחל להושיע את ישראל מיד פלשתים׃

For here you [will be] pregnant and you will bear a son and a razor not it will go up on head his for a Nazirite of God he will be the lad from the womb and he he will begin to deliver Israel from [the] hand of [the] Philistines.

6 ותבא האשה ותאמר לאישה לאמר איש האלהים בא אלי ומראהו כמראה מלאך האלהים נורא מאד ולא שאלתיהו אי מזה הוא ואת שמו לא הגיד לי׃

And she went the woman and she said to husband her saying man of God he came to me and appearance his [was] like [the] appearance of angel of God awesome very and not I asked him where? from this [was] he and name his not he told to me.

7 ויאמר לי הנך הרה וילדת בן ועתה אל תשתי יין ושכר ואל תאכלי כל טמאה כי נזיר אלהים יהיה הנער מן הבטן עד יום מותו׃

And he said to me here you [will be] pregnant and you will bear a son and therefore may not you drink - wine and strong drink and may not you eat any uncleanness for a Nazirite of God he will be the lad from the womb until [the] day of death his.

8 ויעתר מנוח אל יהוה ויאמר בי אדוני איש האלהים אשר שלחת יבוא נא עוד אלינו ויורנו מה נעשה לנער היולד׃

And he prayed Manoah to Yahweh and he said pardon me O Lord [the] man of God whom you sent let him come please again to us so he may teach us what? will we do for the lad who is about to be born.

9 וישמע האלהים בקול מנוח ויבא מלאך האלהים עוד אל האשה והיא יושבת בשדה ומנוח אישה אין עמה׃

And he listened God to [the] voice of Manoah and he came [the] angel of God again to the woman and she [was] sitting in the field and Manoah husband her not [was] with her.

10 ותמהר האשה ותרץ ותגד לאישה ותאמר אליו הנה נראה אלי האיש אשר בא ביום אלי׃

And she made haste the woman and she ran and she told to husband her and she said to him here! he has presented himself to me the man who he came on the day to me.

11 ויקם וילך מנוח אחרי אשתו ויבא אל האיש ויאמר לו האתה האיש אשר דברת אל האשה ויאמר אני׃

And he arose and he went Manoah after wife his and he came to the man and he said to him ¿ [are] you the man who you spoke to the woman and he said I.

12 ויאמר מנוח עתה יבא דבריך מה יהיה משפט הנער ומעשהו׃

And he said Manoah now it will come words your what? will it be [the] manner of the lad and work his.

13 ויאמר מלאך יהוה אל מנוח מכל אשר אמרתי אל האשה תשמר׃

And he said [the] angel of Yahweh to Manoah from all that I said to the woman she will take care.

14 מכל אשר יצא מגפן היין לא תאכל ויין ושכר אל תשת וכל טמאה אל תאכל כל אשר צויתיה תשמר׃

Any of all that it comes forth from [the] vine of the wine not she will eat and wine and strong drink may not she drink and any uncleanness may not she eat all that I commanded her she will keep.

15 ויאמר מנוח אל מלאך יהוה נעצרה נא אותך ונעשה לפניך גדי עזים׃

And he said Manoah to [the] angel of Yahweh let us detain please you so we may prepare before you a kid of goats.

16 ויאמר מלאך יהוה אל מנוח אם תעצרני לא אכל בלחמך ואם תעשה עלה ליהוה תעלנה כי לא ידע מנוח כי מלאך יהוה הוא׃

And he said [the] angel of Yahweh to Manoah if you will detain me not I will eat in food your and if you will make a burnt offering to Yahweh you will offer up it for not he knew Manoah that [was] [the] angel Yahweh it.

17 ויאמר מנוח אל מלאך יהוה מי שמך כי יבא דבריך וכבדנוך׃

And he said Manoah to [the] angel of Yahweh who? [is] name your if it will come (word your *Q(K)*) and we will honor you.

18 ויאמר לו מלאך יהוה למה זה תשאל לשמי והוא פלאי׃

And he said (to him *L(abh)*) [the] angel of Yahweh why? this are you asking to name my and it [is] incomprehensible.

19 ויקח מנוח את גדי העזים ואת המנחה ויעל על הצור ליהוה ומפלא לעשות ומנוח ואשתו ראים׃

And he took Manoah [the] kid of the goats and the grain offering and he offered [it] up on the rock to Yahweh and an extraordinary thing to do and Manoah and wife his [were] looking.

20 ויהי בעלות הלהב מעל המזבח השמימה ויעל מלאך יהוה בלהב המזבח ומנוח ואשתו ראים ויפלו על פניהם ארצה׃

And it was when went up the flame from on the altar the heavens towards and he went up [the] angel of Yahweh in [the] flame of the altar and Manoah and wife his [were] looking and they fell on faces their [the] ground towards.

21 ולא יסף עוד מלאך יהוה להראה אל מנוח ואל אשתו אז ידע מנוח כי מלאך יהוה הוא׃

And not he repeated again [the] angel of Yahweh to appear to Manoah and to wife his then he knew Manoah that [was] [the] angel of Yahweh it.

22 ויאמר מנוח אל אשתו מות נמות כי אלהים ראינו׃

And he said Manoah to wife his certainly we will die for God we have seen.

23 ותאמר לו אשתו לו חפץ יהוה להמיתנו לא לקח מידנו עלה ומנחה ולא הראנו את כל אלה וכעת לא השמיענו כזאת׃

And she said to him wife his if he had desired Yahweh to kill us not he accepted from hand our a burnt offering and a grain offering and not he showed us all these [things] and about this time not he caused to hear us like this.

24 ותלד האשה בן ותקרא את שמו שמשון ויגדל הנער ויברכהו יהוה׃

And she bore the woman a son and she called name his Samson and he grew up the lad and he blessed him Yahweh.

25 ותחל רוח יהוה לפעמו במחנה דן בין צרעה ובין אשתאל׃

And it began [the] spirit of Yahweh to stir him in Mahaneh Dan between Zorah and between Eshtaol.
