איוב 28
| כי יש לכסף מוצא ומקום לזהב יזקו׃ | 1 |
For there for silver [is] a mine and a place for gold [which] people refine.
| ברזל מעפר יקח ואבן יצוק נחושה׃ | 2 |
Iron from [the] dust it is taken and stone someone pours out copper.
| קץ שם לחשך ולכל תכלית הוא חוקר אבן אפל וצלמות׃ | 3 |
An end - someone puts to the darkness and to every outermost part he [is] searching for [the] stone of gloom and deep darkness.
| פרץ נחל מעם גר הנשכחים מני רגל דלו מאנוש נעו׃ | 4 |
He breaks open a shaft - away from with a sojourner forgotten from foot they hang down away from humankind they swing.
| ארץ ממנה יצא לחם ותחתיה נהפך כמו אש׃ | 5 |
[the] earth From it it comes forth food and under it it is turned over like fire.
| מקום ספיר אבניה ועפרת זהב לו׃ | 6 |
[are] a place of Sapphire stones its and dust of gold [belong] to it.
| נתיב לא ידעו עיט ולא שזפתו עין איה׃ | 7 |
[the] path Not it knows it a bird of prey and not it catches sight of it [the] eye of a hawk.
| לא הדריכהו בני שחץ לא עדה עליו שחל׃ | 8 |
Not they tread it [the] sons of pride not it passes by on it a lion.
| בחלמיש שלח ידו הפך משרש הרים׃ | 9 |
On the flint he stretches out hand his he overturns from [the] root mountains.
| בצורות יארים בקע וכל יקר ראתה עינו׃ | 10 |
In the rocks shafts he splits open and every precious thing it sees eye his.
| מבכי נהרות חבש ותעלמה יצא אור׃ | 11 |
From weeping rivers he restrains and secret her he brings out light.
| והחכמה מאין תמצא ואי זה מקום בינה׃ | 12 |
And wisdom from where? will it be found and where? this [is the] place of understanding.
| לא ידע אנוש ערכה ולא תמצא בארץ החיים׃ | 13 |
Not he knows humankind valuation its and not it is found in [the] land of the living [ones].
| תהום אמר לא בי היא וים אמר אין עמדי׃ | 14 |
[the] deep It says not [is] in me it and [the] sea it says not [it] [is] with me.
| לא יתן סגור תחתיה ולא ישקל כסף מחירה׃ | 15 |
Not it will be given fine gold for it and not it will be weighed out silver price its.
| לא תסלה בכתם אופיר בשהם יקר וספיר׃ | 16 |
Not it will be paid in [the] gold of Ophir in onyx precious and sapphire.
| לא יערכנה זהב וזכוכית ותמורתה כלי פז׃ | 17 |
Not it will be comparable to it gold and glass and [is] exchange its a vessel of pure gold.
| ראמות וגביש לא יזכר ומשך חכמה מפנינים׃ | 18 |
Corals and crystal not it is remembered and [the] price of wisdom [is] more than pearls.
| לא יערכנה פטדת כוש בכתם טהור לא תסלה׃ | 19 |
Not it will be comparable to it topaz of Cush in gold pure not it will be paid.
| והחכמה מאין תבוא ואי זה מקום בינה׃ | 20 |
And wisdom from where? does it come and where? this [is the] place of understanding.
| ונעלמה מעיני כל חי ומעוף השמים נסתרה׃ | 21 |
And it has been concealed from [the] eyes of every living [thing] and from [the] bird[s] of the heavens it has been hidden.
| אבדון ומות אמרו באזנינו שמענו שמעה׃ | 22 |
Abaddon and death they say with ears our we have heard report its.
| אלהים הבין דרכה והוא ידע את מקומה׃ | 23 |
God he understands way its and he he knows place its.
| כי הוא לקצות הארץ יביט תחת כל השמים יראה׃ | 24 |
For he to [the] ends of the earth he looks under all the heavens he sees.
| לעשות לרוח משקל ומים תכן במדה׃ | 25 |
To make for the wind weight and [the] waters he has measured with a measure.
| בעשתו למטר חק ודרך לחזיז קלות׃ | 26 |
When made he for the rain a decree and a path for [the] storm of thunder claps.
| אז ראה ויספרה הכינה וגם חקרה׃ | 27 |
Then he saw it and he recounted it he established it and also he examined it.
| ויאמר לאדם הן יראת אדני היא חכמה וסור מרע בינה׃ | 28 |
And he said - to humankind here! [the] fear of [the] Lord that [is] wisdom and to turn from evil [is] understanding.
