עמוס 1
| דברי עמוס אשר היה בנקדים מתקוע אשר חזה על ישראל בימי עזיה מלך יהודה ובימי ירבעם בן יואש מלך ישראל שנתים לפני הרעש׃ | 1 |
The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
| ויאמר יהוה מציון ישאג ומירושלם יתן קולו ואבלו נאות הרעים ויבש ראש הכרמל׃ | 2 |
And he said, Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem, and the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
| כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי דמשק ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על דושם בחרצות הברזל את הגלעד׃ | 3 |
Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.
| ושלחתי אש בבית חזאל ואכלה ארמנות בן הדד׃ | 4 |
But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
| ושברתי בריח דמשק והכרתי יושב מבקעת און ותומך שבט מבית עדן וגלו עם ארם קירה אמר יהוה׃ | 5 |
And I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and he who holds the scepter from the house of Eden, and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir, says Jehovah.
| כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי עזה ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על הגלותם גלות שלמה להסגיר לאדום׃ | 6 |
Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they carried away captive the whole people, to deliver them up to Edom.
| ושלחתי אש בחומת עזה ואכלה ארמנתיה׃ | 7 |
But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the palaces of it.
| והכרתי יושב מאשדוד ותומך שבט מאשקלון והשיבותי ידי על עקרון ואבדו שארית פלשתים אמר אדני יהוה׃ | 8 |
And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon. And I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the lord Jehovah.
| כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי צר ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על הסגירם גלות שלמה לאדום ולא זכרו ברית אחים׃ | 9 |
Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they delivered up the whole people to Edom, and did not remember the brotherly covenant.
| ושלחתי אש בחומת צר ואכלה ארמנותיה׃ | 10 |
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces of it.
| כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי אדום ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על רדפו בחרב אחיו ושחת רחמיו ויטרף לעד אפו ועברתו שמרה נצח׃ | 11 |
Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity. And his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever.
| ושלחתי אש בתימן ואכלה ארמנות בצרה׃ | 12 |
But I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
| כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי בני עמון ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על בקעם הרות הגלעד למען הרחיב את גבולם׃ | 13 |
Thus says Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.
| והצתי אש בחומת רבה ואכלה ארמנותיה בתרועה ביום מלחמה בסער ביום סופה׃ | 14 |
But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces of it, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.
| והלך מלכם בגולה הוא ושריו יחדו אמר יהוה׃ | 15 |
And their king shall go into captivity, he and his rulers together, says Jehovah.
