שמואל א 24
| ויהי כאשר שב שאול מאחרי פלשתים ויגדו לו לאמר הנה דוד במדבר עין גדי׃ | 1 |
and to be like/as as which to return: return Saul from after Philistine and to tell to/for him to/for to say behold David in/on/with wilderness Engedi Engedi
| ויקח שאול שלשת אלפים איש בחור מכל ישראל וילך לבקש את דוד ואנשיו על פני צורי היעלים׃ | 2 |

| ויבא אל גדרות הצאן על הדרך ושם מערה ויבא שאול להסך את רגליו ודוד ואנשיו בירכתי המערה ישבים׃ | 3 |
and to come (in): come to(wards) wall [the] flock upon [the] way: road and there cave and to come (in): come Saul to/for to cover [obj] foot his and David and human his in/on/with flank [the] cave to dwell
| ויאמרו אנשי דוד אליו הנה היום אשר אמר יהוה אליך הנה אנכי נתן את איביך בידך ועשית לו כאשר יטב בעיניך ויקם דוד ויכרת את כנף המעיל אשר לשאול בלט׃ | 4 |

| ויהי אחרי כן ויך לב דוד אתו על אשר כרת את כנף אשר לשאול׃ | 5 |

| ויאמר לאנשיו חלילה לי מיהוה אם אעשה את הדבר הזה לאדני למשיח יהוה לשלח ידי בו כי משיח יהוה הוא׃ | 6 |
and to say to/for human his forbid to/for me from LORD if: surely no to make: do [obj] [the] word: thing [the] this to/for lord my to/for anointed LORD to/for to send: reach hand my in/on/with him for anointed LORD he/she/it
| וישסע דוד את אנשיו בדברים ולא נתנם לקום אל שאול ושאול קם מהמערה וילך בדרך׃ | 7 |

| ויקם דוד אחרי כן ויצא מן המערה ויקרא אחרי שאול לאמר אדני המלך ויבט שאול אחריו ויקד דוד אפים ארצה וישתחו׃ | 8 |

| ויאמר דוד לשאול למה תשמע את דברי אדם לאמר הנה דוד מבקש רעתך׃ | 9 |

| הנה היום הזה ראו עיניך את אשר נתנך יהוה היום בידי במערה ואמר להרגך ותחס עליך ואמר לא אשלח ידי באדני כי משיח יהוה הוא׃ | 10 |

| ואבי ראה גם ראה את כנף מעילך בידי כי בכרתי את כנף מעילך ולא הרגתיך דע וראה כי אין בידי רעה ופשע ולא חטאתי לך ואתה צדה את נפשי לקחתה׃ | 11 |

| ישפט יהוה ביני ובינך ונקמני יהוה ממך וידי לא תהיה בך׃ | 12 |
to judge LORD between me and between you and to avenge me LORD from you and hand my not to be in/on/with you
| כאשר יאמר משל הקדמני מרשעים יצא רשע וידי לא תהיה בך׃ | 13 |
like/as as which to say proverb [the] eastern: older from wicked to come out: come wickedness and hand my not to be in/on/with you
| אחרי מי יצא מלך ישראל אחרי מי אתה רדף אחרי כלב מת אחרי פרעש אחד׃ | 14 |

| והיה יהוה לדין ושפט ביני ובינך וירא וירב את ריבי וישפטני מידך׃ | 15 |

| ויהי ככלות דוד לדבר את הדברים האלה אל שאול ויאמר שאול הקלך זה בני דוד וישא שאול קלו ויבך׃ | 16 |
and to be like/as to end: finish David to/for to speak: speak [obj] [the] word [the] these to(wards) Saul and to say Saul voice your this son: child my David and to lift: loud Saul voice his and to weep
| ויאמר אל דוד צדיק אתה ממני כי אתה גמלתני הטובה ואני גמלתיך הרעה׃ | 17 |
and to say to(wards) David righteous you(m. s.) from me for you(m. s.) to wean me [the] welfare and I to wean you [the] distress: evil
| ואת הגדת היום את אשר עשיתה אתי טובה את אשר סגרני יהוה בידך ולא הרגתני׃ | 18 |

| וכי ימצא איש את איבו ושלחו בדרך טובה ויהוה ישלמך טובה תחת היום הזה אשר עשיתה לי׃ | 19 |
and for to find man: anyone [obj] enemy his and to send: let go him in/on/with way: journey pleasant and LORD to complete you welfare underneath: because of [the] day: today [the] this which to make: do to/for me
| ועתה הנה ידעתי כי מלך תמלוך וקמה בידך ממלכת ישראל׃ | 20 |
and now behold to know for to reign to reign and to arise: establish in/on/with hand: power your kingdom Israel
| ועתה השבעה לי ביהוה אם תכרית את זרעי אחרי ואם תשמיד את שמי מבית אבי׃ | 21 |
and now to swear [emph?] to/for me in/on/with LORD if: surely no to cut: eliminate [obj] seed: children my after me and if: surely no to destroy [obj] name my from house: household father my
| וישבע דוד לשאול וילך שאול אל ביתו ודוד ואנשיו עלו על המצודה׃ | 22 |
and to swear David to/for Saul and to go: went Saul to(wards) house: home his and David and human his to ascend: rise upon [the] fortress
