1 בני לוי גרשון קהת ומררי׃

The sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 ובני קהת עמרם יצהר וחברון ועזיאל׃

And, the sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 ובני עמרם אהרן ומשה ומרים ובני אהרן נדב ואביהוא אלעזר ואיתמר׃

And, the children of Amram, Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam, —and, the sons of Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

4 אלעזר הוליד את פינחס פינחס הליד את אבישוע׃

Eleazar, begat Phinehas, Phinehas, begat Abishua;

5 ואבישוע הוליד את בקי ובקי הוליד את עזי׃

and, Abishua, begat Bukki, and, Bukki, begat Uzzi;

6 ועזי הוליד את זרחיה וזרחיה הוליד את מריות׃

and, Uzzi, begat Zerahiah, and, Zerahiah, begat Meraioth;

7 מריות הוליד את אמריה ואמריה הוליד את אחיטוב׃

Meraioth, begat Amariah, and, Amariah, begat Ahitub;

8 ואחיטוב הוליד את צדוק וצדוק הוליד את אחימעץ׃

and, Ahitub, begat Zadok, and, Zadok, begat Ahimaaz;

9 ואחימעץ הוליד את עזריה ועזריה הוליד את יוחנן׃

and, Ahimaaz, begat Azariah, and, Azariah, begat Johanan,

10 ויוחנן הוליד את עזריה הוא אשר כהן בבית אשר בנה שלמה בירושלם׃

and, Johanan, begat Azariah, —he, it was who ministered as priest, in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem;

11 ויולד עזריה את אמריה ואמריה הוליד את אחיטוב׃

and Azariah begat Amariah, —and, Amariah, begat Ahitub;

12 ואחיטוב הוליד את צדוק וצדוק הוליד את שלום׃

and, Ahitub, begat Zadok, and, Zadok, begat Shallum;

13 ושלום הוליד את חלקיה וחלקיה הוליד את עזריה׃

and, Shallum, begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah, begat Azariah;

14 ועזריה הוליד את שריה ושריה הוליד את יהוצדק׃

and, Azariah, begat Seraiah, and, Seraiah, begat Jehozadak;

15 ויהוצדק הלך בהגלות יהוה את יהודה וירושלם ביד נבכדנאצר׃

and, Jehozadak, departed, when Yahweh carried away Judah and Jerusalem into captivity, —by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 בני לוי גרשם קהת ומררי׃

The sons of Levi, Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 ואלה שמות בני גרשום לבני ושמעי׃

And, these, are the names of the sons of Gershom, Libni and Shimei.

18 ובני קהת עמרם ויצהר וחברון ועזיאל׃

And, the sons of Kohath, were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 בני מררי מחלי ומשי ואלה משפחות הלוי לאבותיהם׃

The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi. And, these, are the families of Levi by their fathers:

20 לגרשום לבני בנו יחת בנו זמה בנו׃

To Gershom, pertained Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 יואח בנו עדו בנו זרח בנו יאתרי בנו׃

Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

22 בני קהת עמינדב בנו קרח בנו אסיר בנו׃

The sons of Kohath, Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son;

23 אלקנה בנו ואביסף בנו ואסיר בנו׃

Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son;

24 תחת בנו אוריאל בנו עזיה בנו ושאול בנו׃

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 ובני אלקנה עמשי ואחימות׃

And, the sons of Elkanah, Amasai, and Ahimoth.

26 אלקנה בנו אלקנה צופי בנו ונחת בנו׃

As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah, Zophai his son, and Nahath his son;

27 אליאב בנו ירחם בנו אלקנה בנו׃

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

28 ובני שמואל הבכר ושני ואביה׃

And, the sons of Samuel, the firstborn, [Joel], and, the second, Abiah.

29 בני מררי מחלי לבני בנו שמעי בנו עזה בנו׃

the sons of Merari, Mahli, —Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son;

30 שמעא בנו חגיה בנו עשיה בנו׃

Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 ואלה אשר העמיד דויד על ידי שיר בית יהוה ממנוח הארון׃

And, these, are they whom David caused to stand, as the servants of song, in the house of Yahweh, when he had given rest unto the ark;

32 ויהיו משרתים לפני משכן אהל מועד בשיר עד בנות שלמה את בית יהוה בירושלם ויעמדו כמשפטם על עבודתם׃

so they became attendants before the habitation of the tent of meeting, with song, until Solomon built the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, —and they took their stand according to their prescribed manner over their work.

33 ואלה העמדים ובניהם מבני הקהתי הימן המשורר בן יואל בן שמואל׃

Yea, these, are they who stood, with their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites, Heman the singer, son of Joel, son of Samuel,

34 בן אלקנה בן ירחם בן אליאל בן תוח׃

son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah, —

35 בן ציף בן אלקנה בן מחת בן עמשי׃

son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai: —

36 בן אלקנה בן יואל בן עזריה בן צפניה׃

son of Elkanah, son of Joel, son of Azariah, son of Zephaniah, —

37 בן תחת בן אסיר בן אביסף בן קרח׃

son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah; —

38 בן יצהר בן קהת בן לוי בן ישראל׃

son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel.

39 ואחיו אסף העמד על ימינו אסף בן ברכיהו בן שמעא׃

And, his brother Asaph who stood on his right hand, Asaph son of Berechiah, son of Shimea, —

40 בן מיכאל בן בעשיה בן מלכיה׃

son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah, —

41 בן אתני בן זרח בן עדיה׃

son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah; —

42 בן איתן בן זמה בן שמעי׃

son of Ethan, son of Zimmah, son of Shimei, —

43 בן יחת בן גרשם בן לוי׃

son of Jahath, son of Gershom, son of Levi.

44 ובני מררי אחיהם על השמאול איתן בן קישי בן עבדי בן מלוך׃

And, the sons of Merari, their brethren, on the left hand, Ethan son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch; —

45 בן חשביה בן אמציה בן חלקיה׃

son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah, —

46 בן אמצי בן בני בן שמר׃

son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer; —

47 בן מחלי בן מושי בן מררי בן לוי׃

son of Mahli, son of Mushi, son of Merari, son of Levi.

48 ואחיהם הלוים נתונים לכל עבודת משכן בית האלהים׃

Howbeit, their brethren, the Levites, were given, for all the work of the habitation, of the house of God.

49 ואהרן ובניו מקטירים על מזבח העולה ועל מזבח הקטרת לכל מלאכת קדש הקדשים ולכפר על ישראל ככל אשר צוה משה עבד האלהים׃

But, Aaron and his sons, were to make perfume upon the altar of ascending-sacrifice, and upon the altar of incense, according to all the service of the holy of holies, —even for putting a propitiatory-covering over Israel, according go all that, Moses, the servant of God, commanded.

50 ואלה בני אהרן אלעזר בנו פינחס בנו אבישוע בנו׃

And, these, are the sons of Aaron, —Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son, —

51 בקי בנו עזי בנו זרחיה בנו׃

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son, —

52 מריות בנו אמריה בנו אחיטוב בנו׃

Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son, —

53 צדוק בנו אחימעץ בנו׃

Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 ואלה מושבותם לטירותם בגבולם לבני אהרן למשפחת הקהתי כי להם היה הגורל׃

And, these, are their dwelling-places, according to their encampments, in their boundary, —pertaining to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, for, theirs, was the lot:

55 ויתנו להם את חברון בארץ יהודה ואת מגרשיה סביבתיה׃

so they gave them Hebron, in the land of Judah, and the pasture lands thereof, round about it;

56 ואת שדה העיר ואת חצריה נתנו לכלב בן יפנה׃

but, the field-land of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb son of Jephunneh.

57 ולבני אהרן נתנו את ערי המקלט את חברון ואת לבנה ואת מגרשיה ואת יתר ואת אשתמע ואת מגרשיה׃

And, to the sons of Aaron, gave they, the cities of refuge—Hebron, and Libnah, with her pasture lands, —and Jattir and Eshtemoa, with her pasture lands;

58 ואת חילז ואת מגרשיה את דביר ואת מגרשיה׃

and Hilen with her pasture lands, Debir, with her pasture lands;

59 ואת עשן ואת מגרשיה ואת בית שמש ואת מגרשיה׃

and Ashan, with her pasture lands, and Bethshemesh, with her pasture lands;

60 וממטה בנימן את גבע ואת מגרשיה ואת עלמת ואת מגרשיה ואת ענתות ואת מגרשיה כל עריהם שלש עשרה עיר במשפחותיהם׃

and, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba, with her pasture lands, and Allemeth, with her pasture lands, —and Anathoth, with her pasture lands; —all their cities, were thirteen cities, throughout their families.

61 ולבני קהת הנותרים ממשפחת המטה ממחצית מטה חצי מנשה בגורל ערים עשר׃

And, unto the rest of the sons of Kohath—of the families of the tribe of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities.

62 ולבני גרשום למשפחותם ממטה יששכר וממטה אשר וממטה נפתלי וממטה מנשה בבשן ערים שלש עשרה׃

And, to the sons of Gershom, by their families—out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 לבני מררי למשפחותם ממטה ראובן וממטה גד וממטה זבולן בגורל ערים שתים עשרה׃

And, unto sons of Merari, by their families—out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, by lot twelve cities.

64 ויתנו בני ישראל ללוים את הערים ואת מגרשיהם׃

So then the sons of Israel gave, to the Levites, —the cities and the pasture lands thereof;

65 ויתנו בגורל ממטה בני יהודה וממטה בני שמעון וממטה בני בנימן את הערים האלה אשר יקראו אתהם בשמות׃

yea they gave, by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 וממשפחות בני קהת ויהי ערי גבולם ממטה אפרים׃

But, as for some of the families of the sons of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot, out of the tribe of Ephraim;

67 ויתנו להם את ערי המקלט את שכם ואת מגרשיה בהר אפרים ואת גזר ואת מגרשיה׃

and they gave unto them the cities of refuge—Shechem and her pasture lands, in the hill country of Ephraim, —and Gezer, with her pasture lands;

68 ואת יקמעם ואת מגרשיה ואת בית חורון ואת מגרשיה׃

and Jokmeam, with her pasture lands, and Beth-heron, with her pasture lands;

69 ואת אילון ואת מגרשיה ואת גת רמון ואת מגרשיה׃

and Aijalon, with her pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon, with her pasture lands;

70 וממחצית מטה מנשה את ענר ואת מגרשיה ואת בלעם ואת מגרשיה למשפחת לבני קהת הנותרים׃

and, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner, with her pasture lands, and Bileam, with her pasture lands, —for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

71 לבני גרשום ממשפחת חצי מטה מנשה את גולן בבשן ואת מגרשיה ואת עשתרות ואת מגרשיה׃

Unto the sons of Gershom—out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan, with her pasture lands, —and Ashtaroth, with her pasture lands.

72 וממטה יששכר את קדש ואת מגרשיה את דברת ואת מגרשיה׃

And, out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh, with her pasture lands, —Daberath, with her pasture lands;

73 ואת ראמות ואת מגרשיה ואת ענם ואת מגרשיה׃

and Ramoth, with her pasture lands, and Anem, with her pasture lands.

74 וממטה אשר את משל ואת מגרשיה ואת עבדון ואת מגרשיה׃

And, out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal, with her pasture lands, —and Abdon, with her pasture lands;

75 ואת חוקק ואת מגרשיה ואת רחב ואת מגרשיה׃

and Hukok, with her pasture lands, —and Rehob, with her pasture lands.

76 וממטה נפתלי את קדש בגליל ואת מגרשיה ואת חמון ואת מגרשיה ואת קריתים ואת מגרשיה׃

And, out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, with her pasture lands, and Hammon, with her pasture lands, —and Kiryathaim, with her pasture lands.

77 לבני מררי הנותרים ממטה זבולן את רמונו ואת מגרשיה את תבור ואת מגרשיה׃

Unto the rest of the sons of Merari—out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono, with her pasture lands, —Tabor, with her pasture lands.

78 ומעבר לירדן ירחו למזרח הירדן ממטה ראובן את בצר במדבר ואת מגרשיה ואת יהצה ואת מגרשיה׃

And, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east of the Jordan—out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness, with her pasture lands, —and Jahzah, with her pasture lands;

79 ואת קדמות ואת מגרשיה ואת מיפעת ואת מגרשיה׃

and Kedemoth, with her pasture lands, and Mephaath, with her pasture lands.

80 וממטה גד את ראמות בגלעד ואת מגרשיה ואת מחנים ואת מגרשיה׃

And, out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead, with her pasture lands, —and Mahanaim, with her pasture lands;

81 ואת חשבון ואת מגרשיה ואת יעזיר ואת מגרשיה׃

and Heshbon, with her pasture lands, and Jazer, with her pasture lands.
