1 אדם שת אנוש׃

Adam, Seth, Enosh;

2 קינן מהללאל ירד׃

Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared;

3 חנוך מתושלח למך׃

Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech;

4 נח שם חם ויפת׃

Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5 בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

6 ובני גמר אשכנז ודיפת ותוגרמה׃

And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah.

7 ובני יון אלישה ותרשישה כתים ורודנים׃

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

8 בני חם כוש ומצרים פוט וכנען׃

The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתא ורעמא וסבתכא ובני רעמא שבא ודדן׃

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

10 וכוש ילד את נמרוד הוא החל להיות גבור בארץ׃

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

11 ומצרים ילד את לודיים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים׃

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

12 ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים׃

and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whence came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.

13 וכנען ילד את צידון בכרו ואת חת׃

And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth;

14 ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃

and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;

15 ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני׃

and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite;

16 ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי׃

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17 בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם ועוץ וחול וגתר ומשך׃

The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether., and Meshech.

18 וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר׃

And Arpachshad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

19 ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

20 ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח׃

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;

21 ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה׃

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah;

22 ואת עיבל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא׃

and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba;

23 ואת אופיר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן׃

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; All these were the sons of Joktan.

24 שם ארפכשד שלח׃

Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah;

25 עבר פלג רעו׃

Eber, Peleg, Reu;

26 שרוג נחור תרח׃

Serug, Nahor, Terah;

27 אברם הוא אברהם׃

Abram (the same is Abraham).

28 בני אברהם יצחק וישמעאל׃

The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

29 אלה תלדותם בכור ישמעאל נביות וקדר ואדבאל ומבשם׃

These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

30 משמע ודומה משא חדד ותימא׃

Mishma, and Dumah, Massa; Hadad, and Tema,

31 יטור נפיש וקדמה אלה הם בני ישמעאל׃

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 ובני קטורה פילגש אברהם ילדה את זמרן ויקשן ומדן ומדין וישבק ושוח ובני יקשן שבא ודדן׃

And the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

33 ובני מדין עיפה ועפר וחנוך ואבידע ואלדעה כל אלה בני קטורה׃

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34 ויולד אברהם את יצחק בני יצחק עשו וישראל׃

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau, and Israel.

35 בני עשו אליפז רעואל ויעוש ויעלם וקרח׃

The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

36 בני אליפז תימן ואומר צפי וגעתם קנז ותמנע ועמלק׃

The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 בני רעואל נחת זרח שמה ומזה׃

The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 ובני שעיר לוטן ושובל וצבעון וענה ודישן ואצר ודישן׃

And the sons of Seir; Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah, and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan.

39 ובני לוטן חרי והומם ואחות לוטן תמנע׃

And the sons of Lotan; Hori and Homam: and Timna was Lotan’s sister.

40 בני שובל עלין ומנחת ועיבל שפי ואונם ובני צבעון איה וענה׃

The sons of Shobal; Alian and Manahath and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah and Anah.

41 בני ענה דישון ובני דישון חמרן ואשבן ויתרן וכרן׃

The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Hamran and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran.

42 בני אצר בלהן וזעון יעקן בני דישון עוץ וארן׃

The sons of Ezer; Bilhan and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz and Aran.

43 ואלה המלכים אשר מלכו בארץ אדום לפני מלך מלך לבני ישראל בלע בן בעור ושם עירו דנהבה׃

Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah,

44 וימת בלע וימלך תחתיו יובב בן זרח מבצרה׃

And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

45 וימת יובב וימלך תחתיו חושם מארץ התימני׃

And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 וימת חושם וימלך תחתיו הדד בן בדד המכה את מדין בשדה מואב ושם עירו עיות׃

And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

47 וימת הדד וימלך תחתיו שמלה ממשרקה׃

And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 וימת שמלה וימלך תחתיו שאול מרחבות הנהר׃

And Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his stead.

49 וימת שאול וימלך תחתיו בעל חנן בן עכבור׃

And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

50 וימת בעל חנן וימלך תחתיו הדד ושם עירו פעי ושם אשתו מהיטבאל בת מטרד בת מי זהב׃

And Baal-hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Pai: and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.

51 וימת הדד ויהיו אלופי אדום אלוף תמנע אלוף עליה אלוף יתת׃

And Hadad died. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timna, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth;

52 אלוף אהליבמה אלוף אלה אלוף פינן׃

duke Oholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon;

53 אלוף קנז אלוף תימן אלוף מבצר׃

duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar;

54 אלוף מגדיאל אלוף עירם אלה אלופי אדום׃

duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
