| אדם שת אנוש׃ | 1 |
Adam, Sheth, Enosh,
| קינן מהללאל ירד׃ | 2 |
Kenan, Mehalalel, Jered,
| חנוך מתושלח למך׃ | 3 |
Enoch, Methushelah, Lemech,
| נח שם חם ויפת׃ | 4 |
Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
| בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃ | 5 |
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Meshech, and Thirass.
| ובני גמר אשכנז ודיפת ותוגרמה׃ | 6 |
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenas, and Diphath, and Thogarmah.
| ובני יון אלישה ותרשישה כתים ורודנים׃ | 7 |
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tharshishah, Kittim, and Rodanim.
| בני חם כוש ומצרים פוט וכנען׃ | 8 |
The sons of Ham: Cush, and Misrayim, Put, and Canaan.
| ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתא ורעמא וסבתכא ובני רעמא שבא ודדן׃ | 9 |
And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Chavilah, and Sabta, and Ra'mah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Ra'mah: Sheba, and Dedan.
| וכוש ילד את נמרוד הוא החל להיות גבור בארץ׃ | 10 |
And Cush begat Nimrod: this one began to be a mighty man upon the earth.
| ומצרים ילד את לודיים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים׃ | 11 |
And Mizrayim begat the Ludim, and there the 'Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuchim,
| ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים׃ | 12 |
And the Pathrussim, and the Cassluchim, of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphthorim.
| וכנען ילד את צידון בכרו ואת חת׃ | 13 |
And Canaan begat Zidon, his first-born, and Heth.
| ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃ | 14 |
And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgashite,
| ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני׃ | 15 |
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
| ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי׃ | 16 |
And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Chamathite.
| בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם ועוץ וחול וגתר ומשך׃ | 17 |
The sons of Shem: 'Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and 'Uz, and Chul, and Gether, and Meshech.
| וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר׃ | 18 |
And Arpachshad begat Shelach, and Shelach begat 'Eber.
| ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃ | 19 |
And unto 'Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
| ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח׃ | 20 |
And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Chazarmaveth, and Jerach,
| ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה׃ | 21 |
And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
| ואת עיבל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא׃ | 22 |
And 'Ebal and Abimael, and Sheba,
| ואת אופיר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן׃ | 23 |
And Ophir, and Chavilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
| שם ארפכשד שלח׃ | 24 |
Shem, Arpachshad, Shelach,
| עבר פלג רעו׃ | 25 |
'Eber, Peleg, Re'u,
| שרוג נחור תרח׃ | 26 |
Serug, Nachor, Terach,
| אברם הוא אברהם׃ | 27 |
Abram, the same is Abraham.
| בני אברהם יצחק וישמעאל׃ | 28 |
The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishma'el.
| אלה תלדותם בכור ישמעאל נביות וקדר ואדבאל ומבשם׃ | 29 |
These are their generations: The first-born of Ishma'el, Nebayoth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
| משמע ודומה משא חדד ותימא׃ | 30 |
Mishma', and Dumah, Massa, Chadad, and Thema,
| יטור נפיש וקדמה אלה הם בני ישמעאל׃ | 31 |
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishma'el.
| ובני קטורה פילגש אברהם ילדה את זמרן ויקשן ומדן ומדין וישבק ושוח ובני יקשן שבא ודדן׃ | 32 |
And the sons of Keturah, the concubine of Abraham: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Yishbak, and Shuach. And the sons Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
| ובני מדין עיפה ועפר וחנוך ואבידע ואלדעה כל אלה בני קטורה׃ | 33 |
And the sons of Midian: 'Ephah, and 'Epher, and Chanoch, and Abida', and Elda'ah. All these are the sons of Keturah.
| ויולד אברהם את יצחק בני יצחק עשו וישראל׃ | 34 |
And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
| בני עשו אליפז רעואל ויעוש ויעלם וקרח׃ | 35 |
The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Re'uel, and Ye'ush, and Ya'lam, and Korach.
| בני אליפז תימן ואומר צפי וגעתם קנז ותמנע ועמלק׃ | 36 |
The sons of Eliphaz: Theman, and Omar, Zephi, and Ga'tam, Kenas, and Thimna', and 'Amalek.
| בני רעואל נחת זרח שמה ומזה׃ | 37 |
The sons of Re'uel: Nachath, Zerach, Shammah, and Mizzah.
| ובני שעיר לוטן ושובל וצבעון וענה ודישן ואצר ודישן׃ | 38 |
And the sons of Se'ir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zib'on, and 'Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
| ובני לוטן חרי והומם ואחות לוטן תמנע׃ | 39 |
And the sons of Lotan: Chori, and Homam: and the sister of Lotan: Thimna'.
| בני שובל עלין ומנחת ועיבל שפי ואונם ובני צבעון איה וענה׃ | 40 |
The sons of Shobal: 'Alyan, and Manachath, and 'Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zib'on: 'Ayah, and 'Anah.
| בני ענה דישון ובני דישון חמרן ואשבן ויתרן וכרן׃ | 41 |
The sons of 'Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Chamran, and Eshban, and Yithran, and Cheran.
| בני אצר בלהן וזעון יעקן בני דישון עוץ וארן׃ | 42 |
The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Za'avan, and Ja'akan. The sons of Dishan: 'Uz, and Aran.
| ואלה המלכים אשר מלכו בארץ אדום לפני מלך מלך לבני ישראל בלע בן בעור ושם עירו דנהבה׃ | 43 |
And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela' the son of Be'or; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
| וימת בלע וימלך תחתיו יובב בן זרח מבצרה׃ | 44 |
And Bela' died, and there reigned in his stead Jobab the son of Zerach of Bozrah.
| וימת יובב וימלך תחתיו חושם מארץ התימני׃ | 45 |
And Jobab died, and there reigned in his stead Chusham of the land of Theman.
| וימת חושם וימלך תחתיו הדד בן בדד המכה את מדין בשדה מואב ושם עירו עיות׃ | 46 |
And Chusham died and there reigned in his stead Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab; and the name of his city was 'Avith.
| וימת הדד וימלך תחתיו שמלה ממשרקה׃ | 47 |
And Hadad died, and there reigned in his stead Samlah of Massrekah.
| וימת שמלה וימלך תחתיו שאול מרחבות הנהר׃ | 48 |
And Samlah died, and there reigned in his stead Saul of Rechoboth by the river.
| וימת שאול וימלך תחתיו בעל חנן בן עכבור׃ | 49 |
And Saul died, and there reigned in his stead Ba'al-chanan the son of 'Achbor.
| וימת בעל חנן וימלך תחתיו הדד ושם עירו פעי ושם אשתו מהיטבאל בת מטרד בת מי זהב׃ | 50 |
And Ba'al-chanan died, and there reigned in his stead Hadad; and the name of his city was Pa'i; and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
| וימת הדד ויהיו אלופי אדום אלוף תמנע אלוף עליה אלוף יתת׃ | 51 |
Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were: Thimna', duke 'Alvah, duke Jetheth,
| אלוף אהליבמה אלוף אלה אלוף פינן׃ | 52 |
Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
| אלוף קנז אלוף תימן אלוף מבצר׃ | 53 |
Duke Kenas, duke Theman, duke Mibzar,
| אלוף מגדיאל אלוף עירם אלה אלופי אדום׃ | 54 |
Duke Magdiel, duke 'Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
