לוּקָס 19
| ישוע הגיע ליריחו ועבר ברחובות העיר. | 1 |
Then Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.
| אדם אחד בשם זכי, אשר היה מנהל בכיר ברשויות המכס, בעל השפעה וכמובן עשיר גדול, | 2 |
And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich.
| רצה לראות את פניו של ישוע. אבל זכי היה נמוך־קומה, והקהל הרב הסתיר ממנו את ישוע. | 3 |
He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he could not do so because of the crowd, for he was a short man.
| זכי רץ לפני הקהל הרב וטיפס על עץ שיקמה בצד הדרך על מנת שיוכל להתבונן בישוע ללא הפרעה. | 4 |
So he ran on ahead and climbed a sycamore tree so that he could see him, because Jesus was about to pass by that way.
| כאשר עבר ישוע ליד העץ, הרים את עיניו והביט בזכי.”זכי, “קרא לו ישוע בשמו,”רד מהר מהעץ, כי היום עלי להתארח בביתך.“ | 5 |
When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and saw him. Then he said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at yoʋr house today.”
| זכי מיהר לרדת מהעץ וקיבל את פניו של ישוע בשמחה ובששון. | 6 |
So he hurried down and received Jesus with joy.
| הדבר לא מצא־חן בעיני הקהל.”ישוע עומד להתארח בביתו של חוטא ידוע!“רטנו. | 7 |
When all the people saw it, they grumbled, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinful man.”
| אולם זכי עמד לפני האדון ואמר:”אדוני, מהיום והלאה אתן את מחצית רכושי לעניים וכל מי שלקחתי ממנו כסף במרמה, אחזיר לו פי הארבע!“ | 8 |
But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my goods, Lord, I give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I will pay back four times the amount.”
| ”היום באה ישועה לבית הזה!“קרא ישוע.”כי זכי הוא בן־אברהם. | 9 |
Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man has shown that he too is a son of Abraham.
| ואכן בן־האדם בא לחפש ולהושיע את האובדים.“ | 10 |
For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
| כשהתקרבו לירושלים, ישוע סיפר לתלמידיו משל, כדי לתקן את הרושם המוטעה שהיה להם שמלכות האלוהים עומדת לבוא בכל רגע. | 11 |
Now as the people were listening to this, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.
| ”אציל אחד נקרא לארץ רחוקה כדי לקבל את כתר המלוכה על מחוז מגוריו. | 12 |
So he said, “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself and then return.
| לפני צאתו לדרך קרא לעשרה ממשרתיו, נתן לכל אחד מהם מטבע זהב ואמר:’השקיעו את הכסף וסחרו בו עד שאחזור‘. | 13 |
Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I return.’
| רבים מבני ארצו של המלך המיועד שנאו אותו, ואף שלחו בעקבותיו משלחת שהודיעה לו:’איננו רוצים שתמלוך עלינו!‘“ | 14 |
But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’
| ”מחאתם לא הועילה, והאציל הוכתר למלך. כשחזר המלך לביתו קרא אליו את עשרת המשרתים, ושאל אותם מה עשו בכסף שנתן להם וכמה הרוויחו. | 15 |
When he returned after receiving the kingdom, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out who had gained what by engaging in business.
| המשרת הראשון בא ואמר:’אדוני, ממטבע הזהב שנתת לי הרווחתי עשרה מטבעות זהב‘. | 16 |
The first came before him and said, ‘Master, yoʋr mina has made ten minas more.’
| ”’יפה מאוד, משרתי הטוב!‘שיבח אותו המלך.’מאחר שהוכחת את נאמנותך במעט שהפקדתי בידך, אני ממנה אותך שליט על עשר ערים‘. | 17 |
The king said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because yoʋ have been faithful in a very small matter, take authority over ten cities.’
| ”גם המשרת השני דיווח על רווח, פי חמישה ממה שקיבל. | 18 |
The second came and said, ‘Master, yoʋr mina has made five minas.’
| ”’אותך אני ממנה שליט על חמש ערים‘, אמר לו המלך. | 19 |
The king said to him, ‘Yoʋ are to be over five cities.’
| אחר כך בא המשרת השלישי ואמר:’אדוני, הנה המטבע שנתת לי; שמרתי אותו במטפחת ולא נגעתי בו. | 20 |
Another came and said, ‘Master, behold, here is yoʋr mina, which I kept put away in a piece of cloth.
| כי פחדתי ממך, מפני שאתה איש קשה; אתה לוקח מה שלא שייך לך וקוצר את מה שלא זרעת‘. | 21 |
For I was afraid of yoʋ, because yoʋ are a stern man. Yoʋ take out what yoʋ did not put in, and yoʋ reap what yoʋ did not sow.’
| ”’רשע שכמוך!‘קרא המלך בזעם.’איש קשה אני? מיד אראה לך כמה קשה אני יכול להיות! אם ידעת שאני לוקח מה שלא שייך לי וקוצר את מה שלא זרעתי, | 22 |
The king said to him, ‘I will condemn yoʋ by the words coming out of yoʋr own mouth, yoʋ evil servant. Yoʋ knew, did yoʋ, that I was a stern man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?
| מדוע לא הפקדת את הכסף בבנק? כך לפחות הייתי מקבל ריבית!‘ | 23 |
Why then did yoʋ not deposit my money in the bank, and when I came I would have collected it with interest?’
| ”המלך פנה אל העומדים סביבו ופקד:’קחו ממנו את המטבע ותנו לאיש שהרוויח את הסכום הגדול ביותר!‘ | 24 |
Then he said to those standing nearby, ‘Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
| ”’אבל, אדון‘, אמרו במחאה,’יש לו מספיק!‘ | 25 |
But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas!’
| ’נכון‘, השיב המלך.’אני אומר לכם, מי שיש לו – יינתן לו עוד; מי שאין לו – גם המעט שבידו יילקח ממנו. | 26 |
The king said, ‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more, but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
| ובנוגע לאויבי אשר לא רצו שאמלוך עליהם – הביאו אותם הנה והוציאו אותם להורג לפני‘.“ | 27 |
But as for those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.’”
| ישוע סיים את דבריו והמשיך בדרכו לעלות לירושלים עם תלמידיו. | 28 |
After saying these things, Jesus continued on his way up to Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples.
| בהתקרבם אל בית־פגי ובית־עניה שעל הר הזיתים, קרא אליו ישוע שנים מתלמידיו ואמר: | 29 |
As he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mount called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples ahead,
| ”לכו אל הכפר ממול, ובכניסה תראו עיר קשור שאיש עדיין לא רכב עליו. התירו את העיר והביאו אותו אלי. | 30 |
saying, “Go into the village ahead of you. As you enter it, you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.
| אם מישהו ישאל אתכם מה אתם עושים, אמרו לו:’האדון זקוק לעיר‘. “ | 31 |
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”
| שני התלמידים הלכו אל הכפר ומצאו את העיר ממש כפי שאמר להם ישוע. | 32 |
So those who were sent went off and found it just as he had told them.
| כשהתירו את העיר בא אליהם בעליו ושאל בתימהון:”מדוע אתם מתירים את העיר שלי?“ | 33 |
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
| ”האדון זקוק לו“, השיבו התלמידים בפשטות. | 34 |
They said, “The Lord has need of it.”
| הם הביאו את העיר אל ישוע, ריפדו את גבו במעיליהם וישוע רכב עליו. | 35 |
Then they brought the colt to Jesus, threw their garments over it, and set Jesus on it.
| אנשים רבים פרשו את מעיליהם וגלימותיהם על השביל לפניו. | 36 |
As he went along, people were spreading their garments on the road.
| כשהתקרב ישוע לראש השביל היורד מהר הזיתים, החלה חבורת תלמידיו לשיר ולשבח את אלוהים בקולי קולות על כל הנסים והנפלאות שחולל ישוע. | 37 |
And as he drew near to the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen,
| ”ברוך הבא בשם ה׳!“צהל ההמון.”יחי המלך! שמחו השמים והארץ! שבח ותהילה לאלוהים במרומים!“ | 38 |
saying, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
| פרושים אחדים שהיו בקרב הקהל אמרו לישוע:”רבי, נזוף בתלמידיך על הדברים שהם אומרים!“ | 39 |
But some of the Pharisees from among the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke yoʋr disciples.”
| אך הוא השיב להם:”אם הם ישתקו האבנים האלה תזעקנה!“ | 40 |
In response he said to them, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out.”
| כאשר התקרב ישוע לירושלים, הביט בה בעצב ובכה עליה. | 41 |
As he drew near to Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it,
| ”הלוואי שידעת גם את כיצד לעשות שלום! אולם הדבר נסתר ממך“, אמר ישוע בצער ובדמעות. | 42 |
saying, “If only yoʋ had known, especially on this day of yoʋrs what would bring yoʋ peace! But now it is hidden from yoʋr eyes.
| ”יבוא היום שאויביך יקימו סוללות חול סביב חומותיך, יקיפו אותך ויצורו עליך מכל עבר. | 43 |
For the days will come upon yoʋ when yoʋr enemies build a barricade around yoʋ and encircle yoʋ, hemming yoʋ in on every side.
| אויביך יהרסו כליל אותך ואת בניך; הם לא ישאירו אבן אחת במקומה, משום שדחית את הישועה שהציע לך ה׳.“ | 44 |
They will raze yoʋ to the ground, and yoʋr children within yoʋ. They will not leave in yoʋ one stone upon another, because yoʋ did not recognize the time of yoʋr visitation.”
| לאחר מכן הוא נכנס אל בית־המקדש והחל לגרש משם את הסוחרים ואת הקונים. | 45 |
Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were selling and buying there.
| ”בכתבי־הקודש כתוב:’ביתי בית־תפלה‘, “קרא ישוע,”אבל אתם הפכתם אותו למאורת גנבים!“ | 46 |
He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
| ישוע לימד יום־יום בבית־המקדש. הסופרים, ראשי הכוהנים והזקנים חיפשו דרך להיפטר ממנו, | 47 |
Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, but the chief priests and the scribes were seeking to destroy him, and so were the prominent leaders among the people.
| אך הם לא ידעו מה לעשות, מפני שכל העם אהב אותו והקשיב לדבריו בתשומת לב מרובה. | 48 |
But they could not figure out what to do, for all the people were hanging on his every word as they listened to him.
