| אני מצווה עליך לפני אלוהים ולפני אדוננו ישוע המשיח, אשר ישפוט את החיים ואת המתים בבואו ובמלכותו: | 1 |
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
| הטף את דבר האלוהים בכל עת – בכל הזדמנות שבאה לידך, בין אם זה נוח או לא. הוכח, הזהר ותקן את אנשיך כשיש צורך בכך; עודד אותם לעשות את הטוב ולמד אותם בסבלנות את דבר ה׳. | 2 |
Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
| כי יבוא הזמן שהאנשים לא יקשיבו לאמת, ויחפשו מורים שילמדו אותם מה שהם רוצים לשמוע. | 3 |
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap up to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
| הם לא יקשיבו לדבר אלוהים, ויפנו בשמחה לאגדות ולשקרים. | 4 |
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned to fables.
| אבל אתה שמור על קור רוחך, ואל תפחד לסבול למען האדון. הדרך אנשים אחרים לאמונה במשיח, ובצע את כל המוטל עליך על הצד הטוב ביותר. | 5 |
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
| אני אומר לך דברים אלה משום שלא נותר לי זמן רב להיות איתך. שעתי קרבה – תוך זמן קצר אעבור מן העולם הזה ואהיה בשמים. | 6 |
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
| נלחמתי את המלחמה הטובה למען האדון, רצתי במרוץ הגדול ותמיד נשארתי נאמן לו. הגיעה העת שאנוח. | 7 |
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
| עתה שמור לי בשמים כתר צדקה אשר האדון, שופט־הצדק, ייתן לי ביום שובו, ולא רק לי, כי אם לכל אלה שמצפים לשובו בכיליון עיניים. | 8 |
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing.
| אנא, בוא אלי במהירות האפשרית, | 9 |
Do thy diligence to come shortly to me:
| כי דימס עזב אותי בגלל אהבתו לדברי העולם הזה, והלך לתסלוניקי. קריסקיס הלך לגלטיא, וטיטוס הלך לדלמטיה. (aiōn g165) | 10 |
For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and hath departed to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
| רק לוקס נמצא איתי. הבא איתך את מרקוס, כי אני זקוק לעזרתו. | 11 |
Luke only is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
| אנא, הבא איתך את מעילי אשר השארתי אצל אחינו קרפוס בטרואס, ואת הספרים, והחשוב ביותר – את כתבי הקלף. | 13 |
The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
| אלכסנדרוס חרש הנחושת עולל לי רעות רבות. ישלם לו אלוהים כגמולו. | 14 |
Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
| היזהר ממנו, כי הוא מתנגד בחריפות לכל מה שאנחנו מאמינים. | 15 |
Of whom beware thou also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
| כשהביאו אותי למשפט בפעם הראשונה, איש לא היה כאן כדי לעזור לי; כולם ברחו להם. (אני מקווה שאלוהים לא ישפוט אותם על כך). | 16 |
At my first defence no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
| אך האדון חיזק אותי ועזר לי, כדי שאוכל להטיף את הבשורה באומץ לכל העולם, ובכך הצילני מלוע הארי. | 17 |
However the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
| אכן, האדון יצילני תמיד מכל רע ויביאני אל מלכותו בשמים. לאלוהים הכבוד לעולם ועד. – אמן. (aiōn g165) | 18 |
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus I have left at Miletum sick.
| השתדל לבוא לכאן לפני בוא החורף. אובולוס, פודיס, לינוס, קלודיה וכל האחים דורשים בשלומך. | 21 |
Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
| אדוננו ישוע המשיח יברך אותך ויהיה עם רוחך. – אמן. | 22 |
The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen. The second epistle to Timothy, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.
