2 טימותי 4

1 אני מצווה עליך לפני אלוהים ולפני אדוננו ישוע המשיח, אשר ישפוט את החיים ואת המתים בבואו ובמלכותו:

I command you therefore before God and Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his Kingdom:

2 הטף את דבר האלוהים בכל עת – בכל הזדמנות שבאה לידך, בין אם זה נוח או לא. הוכח, הזהר ותקן את אנשיך כשיש צורך בכך; עודד אותם לעשות את הטוב ולמד אותם בסבלנות את דבר ה׳.

preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.

3 כי יבוא הזמן שהאנשים לא יקשיבו לאמת, ויחפשו מורים שילמדו אותם מה שהם רוצים לשמוע.

For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts;

4 הם לא יקשיבו לדבר אלוהים, ויפנו בשמחה לאגדות ולשקרים.

and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to myths.

5 אבל אתה שמור על קור רוחך, ואל תפחד לסבול למען האדון. הדרך אנשים אחרים לאמונה במשיח, ובצע את כל המוטל עליך על הצד הטוב ביותר.

But you be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

6 אני אומר לך דברים אלה משום שלא נותר לי זמן רב להיות איתך. שעתי קרבה – תוך זמן קצר אעבור מן העולם הזה ואהיה בשמים.

For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.

7 נלחמתי את המלחמה הטובה למען האדון, רצתי במרוץ הגדול ותמיד נשארתי נאמן לו. הגיעה העת שאנוח.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.

8 עתה שמור לי בשמים כתר צדקה אשר האדון, שופט־הצדק, ייתן לי ביום שובו, ולא רק לי, כי אם לכל אלה שמצפים לשובו בכיליון עיניים.

From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

9 אנא, בוא אלי במהירות האפשרית,

Be diligent to come to me soon,

10 כי דימס עזב אותי בגלל אהבתו לדברי העולם הזה, והלך לתסלוניקי. קריסקיס הלך לגלטיא, וטיטוס הלך לדלמטיה. (aiōn g165)

for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)

11 רק לוקס נמצא איתי. הבא איתך את מרקוס, כי אני זקוק לעזרתו.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.

12 (גם טוכיקוס איננו כאן, כי שלחתיו לאפסוס).

But I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

13 אנא, הבא איתך את מעילי אשר השארתי אצל אחינו קרפוס בטרואס, ואת הספרים, והחשוב ביותר – את כתבי הקלף.

Bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus when you come, and the books, especially the parchments.

14 אלכסנדרוס חרש הנחושת עולל לי רעות רבות. ישלם לו אלוהים כגמולו.

Alexander, the coppersmith, did much evil to me. The Lord will repay him according to his works,

15 היזהר ממנו, כי הוא מתנגד בחריפות לכל מה שאנחנו מאמינים.

of whom you also must beware; for he greatly opposed our words.

16 כשהביאו אותי למשפט בפעם הראשונה, איש לא היה כאן כדי לעזור לי; כולם ברחו להם. (אני מקווה שאלוהים לא ישפוט אותם על כך).

At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them.

17 אך האדון חיזק אותי ועזר לי, כדי שאוכל להטיף את הבשורה באומץ לכל העולם, ובכך הצילני מלוע הארי.

But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 אכן, האדון יצילני תמיד מכל רע ויביאני אל מלכותו בשמים. לאלוהים הכבוד לעולם ועד. – אמן. (aiōn g165)

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

19 אנא, מסור דרישת־שלום בשמי לפריסקה, לעקילס ולאלה שגרים בביתו של אוניסיפורוס.

Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus.

20 ארסטוס נשאר בקורינתוס, ואת טרופימוס השארתי חולה במיליטוס.

Erastus remained at Corinth, and I left Trophimus at Miletus, ill.

21 השתדל לבוא לכאן לפני בוא החורף. אובולוס, פודיס, לינוס, קלודיה וכל האחים דורשים בשלומך.

Be diligent to come before winter. Eubulus salutes you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.

22 אדוננו ישוע המשיח יברך אותך ויהיה עם רוחך. – אמן.

The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.
