תְהִלִּים 94
| אֵל־נְקָמ֥וֹת יְהוָ֑ה אֵ֖ל נְקָמ֣וֹת הוֹפִֽיַע׃ | 1 |
God of vengeance—YHWH! God of vengeance, shine forth.
| הִ֭נָּשֵׂא שֹׁפֵ֣ט הָאָ֑רֶץ הָשֵׁ֥ב גְּ֝מ֗וּל עַל־גֵּאִֽים׃ | 2 |
Be lifted up, judging the earth, Send back a repayment on the proud.
| עַד־מָתַ֖י רְשָׁעִ֥ים ׀ יְהוָ֑ה עַד־מָ֝תַ֗י רְשָׁעִ֥ים יַעֲלֹֽזוּ׃ | 3 |
Until when do the wicked, O YHWH—Until when do the wicked exult?
| יַבִּ֣יעוּ יְדַבְּר֣וּ עָתָ֑ק יִֽ֝תְאַמְּר֗וּ כָּל־פֹּ֥עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ | 4 |
They utter—they speak arrogance, All working iniquity boast [about] themselves.
| עַמְּךָ֣ יְהוָ֣ה יְדַכְּא֑וּ וְֽנַחֲלָתְךָ֥ יְעַנּֽוּ׃ | 5 |
Your people, O YHWH, they bruise, And they afflict Your inheritance.
| אַ֭לְמָנָה וְגֵ֣ר יַהֲרֹ֑גוּ וִֽיתוֹמִ֣ים יְרַצֵּֽחוּ׃ | 6 |
They slay widow and sojourner, And they murder fatherless ones.
| וַ֭יֹּ֣אמְרוּ לֹ֣א יִרְאֶה־יָּ֑הּ וְלֹא־יָ֝בִ֗ין אֱלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃ | 7 |
And they say, “YAH does not see, And the God of Jacob does not consider.”
| בִּ֭ינוּ בֹּעֲרִ֣ים בָּעָ֑ם וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים מָתַ֥י תַּשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ | 8 |
Consider, you brutish among the people, And you foolish, when do you act wisely?
| הֲנֹ֣טַֽע אֹ֭זֶן הֲלֹ֣א יִשְׁמָ֑ע אִֽם־יֹ֥צֵֽר עַ֝֗יִן הֲלֹ֣א יַבִּֽיט׃ | 9 |
He who plants the ear, does He not hear? He who forms the eye, does He not see?
| הֲיֹסֵ֣ר גּ֭וֹיִם הֲלֹ֣א יוֹכִ֑יחַ הַֽמְלַמֵּ֖ד אָדָ֣ם דָּֽעַת׃ | 10 |
He who is instructing nations, does He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge [is] YHWH.
| יְֽהוָ֗ה יֹ֭דֵעַ מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת אָדָ֑ם כִּי־הֵ֥מָּה הָֽבֶל׃ | 11 |
He knows the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
| אַשְׁרֵ֤י ׀ הַגֶּ֣בֶר אֲשֶׁר־תְּיַסְּרֶ֣נּוּ יָּ֑הּ וּֽמִתּוֹרָתְךָ֥ תְלַמְּדֶֽנּוּ׃ | 12 |
O the blessedness of the man Whom You instruct, O YAH, And teach him out of Your law,
| לְהַשְׁקִ֣יט ל֭וֹ מִ֣ימֵי רָ֑ע עַ֤ד יִכָּרֶ֖ה לָרָשָׁ֣ע שָֽׁחַת׃ | 13 |
To give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is dug for the wicked.
| כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא־יִטֹּ֣שׁ יְהוָ֣ה עַמּ֑וֹ וְ֝נַחֲלָת֗וֹ לֹ֣א יַעֲזֹֽב׃ | 14 |
For YHWH does not leave His people, And does not forsake His inheritance.
| כִּֽי־עַד־צֶ֭דֶק יָשׁ֣וּב מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וְ֝אַחֲרָ֗יו כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־ לֵֽב׃ | 15 |
For judgment turns back to righteousness, And after it all the upright of heart.
| מִֽי־יָק֣וּם לִ֭י עִם־מְרֵעִ֑ים מִֽי־יִתְיַצֵּ֥ב לִ֝י עִם־פֹּ֥עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ | 16 |
Who rises up for me with evildoers? Who stations himself for me with workers of iniquity?
| לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה עֶזְרָ֣תָה לִּ֑י כִּמְעַ֓ט ׀ שָֽׁכְנָ֖ה דוּמָ֣ה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ | 17 |
Unless YHWH [were] a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.
| אִם־אָ֭מַרְתִּי מָ֣טָה רַגְלִ֑י חַסְדְּךָ֥ יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִסְעָדֵֽנִי׃ | 18 |
If I have said, “My foot has slipped,” Your kindness, O YHWH, supports me.
| בְּרֹ֣ב שַׂרְעַפַּ֣י בְּקִרְבִּ֑י תַּ֝נְחוּמֶ֗יךָ יְֽשַׁעַשְׁע֥וּ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ | 19 |
In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
| הַֽ֭יְחָבְרְךָ כִּסֵּ֣א הַוּ֑וֹת יֹצֵ֖ר עָמָ֣ל עֲלֵי־חֹֽק׃ | 20 |
Is a throne of mischief joined [with] You? A framer of perverseness by statute?
| יָ֭גוֹדּוּ עַל־נֶ֣פֶשׁ צַדִּ֑יק וְדָ֖ם נָקִ֣י יַרְשִֽׁיעוּ׃ | 21 |
They decree against the soul of the righteous, And declare innocent blood wicked.
| וַיְהִ֬י יְהוָ֣ה לִ֣י לְמִשְׂגָּ֑ב וֵ֝אלֹהַ֗י לְצ֣וּר מַחְסִֽי׃ | 22 |
And YHWH is for a high place to me, And my God [is] for a rock—my refuge,
| וַיָּ֤שֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶ֨ם ׀ אֶת־אוֹנָ֗ם וּבְרָעָתָ֥ם יַצְמִיתֵ֑ם יַ֝צְמִיתֵ֗ם יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ | 23 |
And He turns back their iniquity on them, And in their wickedness cuts them off; Our God YHWH cuts them off!
