תהילים 48

1 שִׁיר מִזְמוֹר לִבְנֵי־קֹֽרַח׃ גָּדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ הַר־קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃

Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

2 יְפֵה נוֹף מְשׂוֹשׂ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ הַר־צִיּוֹן יַרְכְּתֵי צָפוֹן קִרְיַת מֶלֶךְ רָֽב׃

Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 אֱלֹהִים בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ נוֹדַע לְמִשְׂגָּֽב׃

God has made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 כִּֽי־הִנֵּה הַמְּלָכִים נֽוֹעֲדוּ עָבְרוּ יַחְדָּֽו׃

For, lo, the kings assembled themselves. They passed by together.

5 הֵמָּה רָאוּ כֵּן תָּמָהוּ נִבְהֲלוּ נֶחְפָּֽזוּ׃

They saw it, then were they amazed. They were dismayed, they hastened away.

6 רְעָדָה אֲחָזָתַם שָׁם חִיל כַּיּוֹלֵֽדָה׃

Trembling took hold of them there, pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 בְּרוּחַ קָדִים תְּשַׁבֵּר אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִֽׁישׁ׃

With the east wind thou break the ships of Tarshish.

8 כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְנוּ ׀ כֵּן רָאִינוּ בְּעִיר־יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֱלֹהִים יְכוֹנְנֶהָ עַד־עוֹלָם סֶֽלָה׃

As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God, God will establish it forever. (Selah)

9 דִּמִּינוּ אֱלֹהִים חַסְדֶּךָ בְּקֶרֶב הֵיכָלֶֽךָ׃

We have thought on thy loving kindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 כְּשִׁמְךָ אֱלֹהִים כֵּן תְּהִלָּתְךָ עַל־קַצְוֵי־אֶרֶץ צֶדֶק מָלְאָה יְמִינֶֽךָ׃

As is thy name, O God, so is thy praise to the ends of the earth. Thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 יִשְׂמַח ׀ הַר־צִיּוֹן תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנוֹת יְהוּדָה לְמַעַן מִשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ׃

Let mount Zion be glad. Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of thy judgments.

12 סֹבּוּ צִיּוֹן וְהַקִּיפוּהָ סִפְרוּ מִגְדָּלֶֽיהָ׃

Walk about Zion, and go round about her. Number the towers of it,

13 שִׁיתוּ לִבְּכֶם ׀ לְֽחֵילָה פַּסְּגוּ אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ לְמַעַן תְּסַפְּרוּ לְדוֹר אַחֲרֽוֹן׃

mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces, that ye may tell it to the generation following.

14 כִּי זֶה ׀ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵינוּ עוֹלָם וָעֶד הוּא יְנַהֲגֵנוּ עַל־מֽוּת׃

For this God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to death.
