| וַיִּקַּח קֹרַח בֶּן־יִצְהָר בֶּן־קְהָת בֶּן־לֵוִי וְדָתָן וַאֲבִירָם בְּנֵי אֱלִיאָב וְאוֹן בֶּן־פֶּלֶת בְּנֵי רְאוּבֵֽן׃ | 1 |
and to take: take Korah son: child Izhar son: child Kohath son: child Levi and Dathan and Abiram son: child Eliab and On son: child Peleth son: child Reuben
| וַיָּקֻמוּ לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וַאֲנָשִׁים מִבְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל חֲמִשִּׁים וּמָאתָיִם נְשִׂיאֵי עֵדָה קְרִאֵי מוֹעֵד אַנְשֵׁי־שֵֽׁם׃ | 2 |
and to arise: rise to/for face: before Moses and human from son: descendant/people Israel fifty and hundred leader congregation chosen meeting human name
| וַיִּֽקָּהֲלוּ עַל־מֹשֶׁה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹן וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֲלֵהֶם רַב־לָכֶם כִּי כָל־הָֽעֵדָה כֻּלָּם קְדֹשִׁים וּבְתוֹכָם יְהוָה וּמַדּוּעַ תִּֽתְנַשְּׂאוּ עַל־קְהַל יְהוָֽה׃ | 3 |
and to gather upon Moses and upon Aaron and to say to(wards) them many to/for you for all [the] congregation all their holy and in/on/with midst their LORD and why? to lift: exalt upon assembly LORD
| וַיִּשְׁמַע מֹשֶׁה וַיִּפֹּל עַל־פָּנָֽיו׃ | 4 |
and to hear: hear Moses and to fall: fall upon face his
| וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־קֹרַח וְאֶֽל־כָּל־עֲדָתוֹ לֵאמֹר בֹּקֶר וְיֹדַע יְהוָה אֶת־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ וְאֶת־הַקָּדוֹשׁ וְהִקְרִיב אֵלָיו וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר יִבְחַר־בּוֹ יַקְרִיב אֵלָֽיו׃ | 5 |
and to speak: speak to(wards) Korah and to(wards) all congregation his to/for to say morning and to know LORD [obj] which to/for him and [obj] [the] holy and to present: come to(wards) him and [obj] which to choose in/on/with him to present: bring to(wards) him
| זֹאת עֲשׂוּ קְחוּ־לָכֶם מַחְתּוֹת קֹרַח וְכָל־עֲדָתֽוֹ׃ | 6 |
this to make: do to take: take to/for you censer Korah and all congregation his
| וּתְנוּ בָהֵן ׀ אֵשׁ וְשִׂימוּ עֲלֵיהֶן ׀ קְטֹרֶת לִפְנֵי יְהוָה מָחָר וְהָיָה הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יִבְחַר יְהוָה הוּא הַקָּדוֹשׁ רַב־לָכֶם בְּנֵי לֵוִֽי׃ | 7 |
and to give: put in/on/with them fire and to set: put upon them incense to/for face: before LORD tomorrow and to be [the] man which to choose LORD he/she/it [the] holy: saint many to/for you son: descendant/people Levi
| וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־קֹרַח שִׁמְעוּ־נָא בְּנֵי לֵוִֽי׃ | 8 |
and to say Moses to(wards) Korah to hear: hear please son: descendant/people Levi
| הַמְעַט מִכֶּם כִּֽי־הִבְדִּיל אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶתְכֶם מֵעֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל לְהַקְרִיב אֶתְכֶם אֵלָיו לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה וְלַעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי הָעֵדָה לְשָׁרְתָֽם׃ | 9 |
little from you for to separate God Israel [obj] you from congregation Israel to/for to present: come [obj] you to(wards) him to/for to serve: minister [obj] service: ministry tabernacle LORD and to/for to stand: stand to/for face: before [the] congregation to/for to minister them
| וַיַּקְרֵב אֹֽתְךָ וְאֶת־כָּל־אַחֶיךָ בְנֵי־לֵוִי אִתָּךְ וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּם גַּם־כְּהֻנָּֽה׃ | 10 |
and to present: bring [obj] you and [obj] all brother: male-relative your son: descendant/people Levi with you and to seek also priesthood
| לָכֵן אַתָּה וְכָל־עֲדָתְךָ הַנֹּעָדִים עַל־יְהוָה וְאַהֲרֹן מַה־הוּא כִּי תלונו תַלִּינוּ עָלָֽיו׃ | 11 |
to/for so you(m. s.) and all congregation your [the] to appoint upon LORD and Aaron what? he/she/it for (to grumble *Q(K)*) upon him
| וַיִּשְׁלַח מֹשֶׁה לִקְרֹא לְדָתָן וְלַאֲבִירָם בְּנֵי אֱלִיאָב וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֹא נַעֲלֶֽה׃ | 12 |
and to send: depart Moses to/for to call: call to to/for Dathan and to/for Abiram son: child Eliab and to say not to ascend: rise
| הַמְעַט כִּי הֶֽעֱלִיתָנוּ מֵאֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבַשׁ לַהֲמִיתֵנוּ בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּֽי־תִשְׂתָּרֵר עָלֵינוּ גַּם־הִשְׂתָּרֵֽר׃ | 13 |
little for to ascend: establish us from land: country/planet to flow: flowing milk and honey to/for to die us in/on/with wilderness for to rule upon us also to rule
| אַף לֹא אֶל־אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבַשׁ הֲבִיאֹתָנוּ וַתִּתֶּן־לָנוּ נַחֲלַת שָׂדֶה וָכָרֶם הַעֵינֵי הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵם תְּנַקֵּר לֹא נַעֲלֶֽה׃ | 14 |
also not to(wards) land: country/planet to flow: flowing milk and honey to come (in): bring us and to give: give to/for us inheritance land: country and vineyard eye [the] human [the] they(masc.) to dig not to ascend: rise
| וַיִּחַר לְמֹשֶׁה מְאֹד וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־יְהוָה אַל־תֵּפֶן אֶל־מִנְחָתָם לֹא חֲמוֹר אֶחָד מֵהֶם נָשָׂאתִי וְלֹא הֲרֵעֹתִי אֶת־אַחַד מֵהֶֽם׃ | 15 |
and to be incensed to/for Moses much and to say to(wards) LORD not to turn to(wards) offering their not donkey one from them to lift: bear and not be evil [obj] one from them
| וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־קֹרַח אַתָּה וְכָל־עֲדָתְךָ הֱיוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אַתָּה וָהֵם וְאַהֲרֹן מָחָֽר׃ | 16 |
and to say Moses to(wards) Korah you(m. s.) and all congregation your to be to/for face: before LORD you(m. s.) and they(masc.) and Aaron tomorrow
| וּקְחוּ ׀ אִישׁ מַחְתָּתוֹ וּנְתַתֶּם עֲלֵיהֶם קְטֹרֶת וְהִקְרַבְתֶּם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אִישׁ מַחְתָּתוֹ חֲמִשִּׁים וּמָאתַיִם מַחְתֹּת וְאַתָּה וְאַהֲרֹן אִישׁ מַחְתָּתֽוֹ׃ | 17 |
and to take: take man: anyone censer his and to give: put upon them incense and to present: bring to/for face: before LORD man: anyone censer his fifty and hundred censer and you(m. s.) and Aaron man: anyone censer his
| וַיִּקְחוּ אִישׁ מַחְתָּתוֹ וַיִּתְּנוּ עֲלֵיהֶם אֵשׁ וַיָּשִׂימוּ עֲלֵיהֶם קְטֹרֶת וַֽיַּעַמְדוּ פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וּמֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃ | 18 |
and to take: take man: anyone censer his and to give: put upon them fire and to set: put upon them incense and to stand: stand entrance tent meeting and Moses and Aaron
| וַיַּקְהֵל עֲלֵיהֶם קֹרַח אֶת־כָּל־הָעֵדָה אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיֵּרָא כְבוֹד־יְהוָה אֶל־כָּל־הָעֵדָֽה׃ | 19 |
and to gather upon them Korah [obj] all [the] congregation to(wards) entrance tent meeting and to see: see glory LORD to(wards) all [the] congregation
| וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹֽר׃ | 20 |
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses and to(wards) Aaron to/for to say
| הִבָּדְלוּ מִתּוֹךְ הָעֵדָה הַזֹּאת וַאַכַלֶּה אֹתָם כְּרָֽגַע׃ | 21 |
to separate from midst [the] congregation [the] this and to end: destroy [obj] them like/as moment
| וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל־פְּנֵיהֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵל אֱלֹהֵי הָרוּחֹת לְכָל־בָּשָׂר הָאִישׁ אֶחָד יֶחֱטָא וְעַל כָּל־הָעֵדָה תִּקְצֹֽף׃ | 22 |
and to fall: fall upon face their and to say God God [the] spirit to/for all flesh man one to sin and upon all [the] congregation be angry
| וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ | 23 |
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
| דַּבֵּר אֶל־הָעֵדָה לֵאמֹר הֵֽעָלוּ מִסָּבִיב לְמִשְׁכַּן־קֹרַח דָּתָן וַאֲבִירָֽם׃ | 24 |
to speak: speak to(wards) [the] congregation to/for to say to ascend: rise from around to/for tabernacle Korah Dathan and Abiram
| וַיָּקָם מֹשֶׁה וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל־דָּתָן וַאֲבִירָם וַיֵּלְכוּ אַחֲרָיו זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ | 25 |
and to arise: rise Moses and to go: went to(wards) Dathan and Abiram and to go: follow after him old: elder Israel
| וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־הָעֵדָה לֵאמֹר סוּרוּ נָא מֵעַל אָהֳלֵי הָאֲנָשִׁים הָֽרְשָׁעִים הָאֵלֶּה וְאַֽל־תִּגְּעוּ בְּכָל־אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם פֶּן־תִּסָּפוּ בְּכָל־חַטֹּאתָֽם׃ | 26 |
and to speak: speak to(wards) [the] congregation to/for to say to turn aside: depart please from upon tent [the] human [the] wicked [the] these and not to touch in/on/with all which to/for them lest to snatch in/on/with all sin their
| וַיֵּעָלוּ מֵעַל מִשְׁכַּן־קֹרֶח דָּתָן וַאֲבִירָם מִסָּבִיב וְדָתָן וַאֲבִירָם יָצְאוּ נִצָּבִים פֶּתַח אֽ͏ָהֳלֵיהֶם וּנְשֵׁיהֶם וּבְנֵיהֶם וְטַפָּֽם׃ | 27 |
and to ascend: rise from upon tabernacle Korah Dathan and Abiram from around and Dathan and Abiram to come out: come to stand entrance tent their and woman: wife their and son: child their and child their
| וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה בְּזֹאת תֵּֽדְעוּן כִּֽי־יְהוָה שְׁלָחַנִי לַעֲשׂוֹת אֵת כָּל־הַֽמַּעֲשִׂים הָאֵלֶּה כִּי־לֹא מִלִּבִּֽי׃ | 28 |
and to say Moses in/on/with this to know [emph?] for LORD to send: depart me to/for to make: do [obj] all [the] deed: work [the] these for not from heart my
| אִם־כְּמוֹת כָּל־הָֽאָדָם יְמֻתוּן אֵלֶּה וּפְקֻדַּת כָּל־הָאָדָם יִפָּקֵד עֲלֵיהֶם לֹא יְהוָה שְׁלָחָֽנִי׃ | 29 |
if like/as death all [the] man to die [emph?] these and punishment all [the] man to reckon: visit upon them not LORD to send: depart me
| וְאִם־בְּרִיאָה יִבְרָא יְהוָה וּפָצְתָה הָאֲדָמָה אֶת־פִּיהָ וּבָלְעָה אֹתָם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם וְיָרְדוּ חַיִּים שְׁאֹלָה וִֽידַעְתֶּם כִּי נִֽאֲצוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים הָאֵלֶּה אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ (Sheol h7585) | 30 |
and if creation to create LORD and to open [the] land: soil [obj] lip her and to swallow up [obj] them and [obj] all which to/for them and to go down alive hell: Sheol [to] and to know for to spurn [the] human [the] these [obj] LORD (Sheol h7585)
| וַיְהִי כְּכַלֹּתוֹ לְדַבֵּר אֵת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַתִּבָּקַע הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר תַּחְתֵּיהֶֽם׃ | 31 |
and to be like/as to end: finish he to/for to speak: speak [obj] all [the] word [the] these and to break up/open [the] land: soil which underneath: under them
| וַתִּפְתַּח הָאָרֶץ אֶת־פִּיהָ וַתִּבְלַע אֹתָם וְאֶת־בָּתֵּיהֶם וְאֵת כָּל־הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר לְקֹרַח וְאֵת כָּל־הָרֲכֽוּשׁ׃ | 32 |
and to open [the] land: soil [obj] lip her and to swallow up [obj] them and [obj] house: household their and [obj] all [the] man which to/for Korah and [obj] all [the] property
| וַיֵּרְדוּ הֵם וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם חַיִּים שְׁאֹלָה וַתְּכַס עֲלֵיהֶם הָאָרֶץ וַיֹּאבְדוּ מִתּוֹךְ הַקָּהָֽל׃ (Sheol h7585) | 33 |
and to go down they(masc.) and all which to/for them alive hell: Sheol [to] and to cover upon them [the] land: soil and to perish from midst [the] assembly (Sheol h7585)
| וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבֹתֵיהֶם נָסוּ לְקֹלָם כִּי אָֽמְרוּ פֶּן־תִּבְלָעֵנוּ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ | 34 |
and all Israel which around them to flee to/for voice their for to say lest to swallow up us [the] land: soil
| וְאֵשׁ יָצְאָה מֵאֵת יְהוָה וַתֹּאכַל אֵת הַחֲמִשִּׁים וּמָאתַיִם אִישׁ מַקְרִיבֵי הַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃ | 35 |
and fire to come out: issue from with LORD and to eat [obj] [the] fifty and hundred man to present: bring [the] incense
| וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ | 36 |
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
| אֱמֹר אֶל־אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן־אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן וְיָרֵם אֶת־הַמַּחְתֹּת מִבֵּין הַשְּׂרֵפָה וְאֶת־הָאֵשׁ זְרֵה־הָלְאָה כִּי קָדֵֽשׁוּ׃ | 37 |
to say to(wards) Eleazar son: child Aaron [the] priest and to exalt [obj] [the] censer from between [the] fire and [obj] [the] fire to scatter further for to consecrate: consecate
| אֵת מַחְתּוֹת הֽ͏ַחַטָּאִים הָאֵלֶּה בְּנַפְשֹׁתָם וְעָשׂוּ אֹתָם רִקֻּעֵי פַחִים צִפּוּי לַמִּזְבֵּחַ כִּֽי־הִקְרִיבֻם לִפְנֵֽי־יְהוָה וַיִּקְדָּשׁוּ וְיִֽהְיוּ לְאוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ | 38 |
[obj] censer [the] sinner [the] these in/on/with soul: life their and to make [obj] them hammered out plate plating to/for altar for to present: bring them to/for face: before LORD and to consecrate: consecate and to be to/for sign: indicator to/for son: descendant/people Israel
| וַיִּקַּח אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן אֵת מַחְתּוֹת הַנְּחֹשֶׁת אֲשֶׁר הִקְרִיבוּ הַשְּׂרֻפִים וַֽיְרַקְּעוּם צִפּוּי לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ | 39 |
and to take: take Eleazar [the] priest [obj] censer [the] bronze which to present: bring [the] to burn and to beat them plating to/for altar
| זִכָּרוֹן לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־יִקְרַב אִישׁ זָר אֲשֶׁר לֹא מִזֶּרַע אַהֲרֹן הוּא לְהַקְטִיר קְטֹרֶת לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶה כְקֹרַח וְכַעֲדָתוֹ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה לֽוֹ׃ | 40 |
memorial to/for son: descendant/people Israel because which not to present: come man be a stranger which not from seed: children Aaron he/she/it to/for to offer: burn incense to/for face: before LORD and not to be like/as Korah and like/as congregation his like/as as which to speak: speak LORD in/on/with hand: by Moses to/for him
| וַיִּלֹּנוּ כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִֽמָּחֳרָת עַל־מֹשֶׁה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר אַתֶּם הֲמִתֶּם אֶת־עַם יְהוָֽה׃ | 41 |
and to grumble all congregation son: descendant/people Israel from morrow upon Moses and upon Aaron to/for to say you(m. p.) to die [obj] people LORD
| וַיְהִי בְּהִקָּהֵל הָֽעֵדָה עַל־מֹשֶׁה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹן וַיִּפְנוּ אֶל־אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְהִנֵּה כִסָּהוּ הֶעָנָן וַיֵּרָא כְּבוֹד יְהוָֽה׃ | 42 |
and to be in/on/with to gather [the] congregation upon Moses and upon Aaron and to turn to(wards) tent meeting and behold to cover him [the] cloud and to see: see glory LORD
| וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶל־פְּנֵי אֹהֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ | 43 |
and to come (in): come Moses and Aaron to(wards) face: before tent meeting
| וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ | 44 |
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say
| הֵרֹמּוּ מִתּוֹךְ הָעֵדָה הַזֹּאת וַאֲכַלֶּה אֹתָם כְּרָגַע וַֽיִּפְּלוּ עַל־פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ | 45 |
be exalted from midst [the] congregation [the] this and to end: destroy [obj] them like/as moment and to fall: fall upon face their
| וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן קַח אֶת־הַמַּחְתָּה וְתֶן־עָלֶיהָ אֵשׁ מֵעַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְשִׂים קְטֹרֶת וְהוֹלֵךְ מְהֵרָה אֶל־הָעֵדָה וְכַפֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם כִּֽי־יָצָא הַקֶּצֶף מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה הֵחֵל הַנָּֽגֶף׃ | 46 |
and to say Moses to(wards) Aaron to take: take [obj] [the] censer and to give: put upon her fire from upon [the] altar and to set: put incense and to go: take haste to(wards) [the] congregation and to atone upon them for to come out: come [the] wrath from to/for face of LORD to profane/begin: begin [the] plague
| וַיִּקַּח אַהֲרֹן כַּאֲשֶׁר ׀ דִּבֶּר מֹשֶׁה וַיָּרָץ אֶל־תּוֹך הַקָּהָל וְהִנֵּה הֵחֵל הַנֶּגֶף בָּעָם וַיִּתֵּן אֶֽת־הַקְּטֹרֶת וַיְכַפֵּר עַל־הָעָֽם׃ | 47 |
and to take: take Aaron like/as as which to speak: speak Moses and to run: run to(wards) midst [the] assembly and behold to profane/begin: begin [the] plague in/on/with people and to give: put [obj] [the] incense and to atone upon [the] people
| וַיַּעֲמֹד בֵּֽין־הַמֵּתִים וּבֵין הֽ͏ַחַיִּים וַתֵּעָצַר הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃ | 48 |
and to stand: stand between [the] to die and between [the] alive and to restrain [the] plague
| וַיִּהְיוּ הַמֵּתִים בַּמַּגֵּפָה אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר אֶלֶף וּשְׁבַע מֵאוֹת מִלְּבַד הַמֵּתִים עַל־דְּבַר־קֹֽרַח׃ | 49 |
and to be [the] to die in/on/with plague four ten thousand and seven hundred from to/for alone: besides [the] to die upon word: thing Korah
| וַיָּשָׁב אַהֲרֹן אֶל־מֹשֶׁה אֶל־פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְהַמַּגֵּפָה נֶעֱצָֽרָה׃ | 50 |
and to return: return Aaron to(wards) Moses to(wards) entrance tent meeting and [the] plague to restrain
