שמואל ב 9

1 וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד הֲכִי יֶשׁ־עוֹד אֲשֶׁר נוֹתַר לְבֵית שָׁאוּל וְאֶעֱשֶׂה עִמּוֹ חֶסֶד בַּעֲבוּר יְהוֹנָתָֽן׃

And he said David ¿ for [is] there still [one] who he is left to [the] house of Saul so I may do with him covenant loyalty for sake of Jonathan.

2 וּלְבֵית שָׁאוּל עֶבֶד וּשְׁמוֹ צִיבָא וַיִּקְרְאוּ־לוֹ אֶל־דָּוִד וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵלָיו הַאַתָּה צִיבָא וַיֹּאמֶר עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

And [belonged] to [the] house of Saul a servant and name his [was] Ziba and people summoned him to David and he said the king to him ¿ [are] you Ziba and he said servant your.

3 וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ הַאֶפֶס עוֹד אִישׁ לְבֵית שָׁאוּל וְאֶעֱשֶׂה עִמּוֹ חֶסֶד אֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמֶר צִיבָא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ עוֹד בֵּן לִיהוֹנָתָן נְכֵה רַגְלָֽיִם׃

And he said the king ¿ [is] there not still anyone of [the] house of Saul so I may do with him [the] covenant loyalty of God and he said Ziba to the king still a son of Jonathan stricken of both feet.

4 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־לוֹ הַמֶּלֶךְ אֵיפֹה הוּא וַיֹּאמֶר צִיבָא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ הִנֵּה־הוּא בֵּית מָכִיר בֶּן־עַמִּיאֵל בְּלוֹ דְבָֽר׃

And he said to him the king where? [is] he and he said Ziba to the king here! he [is] [the] house of Makir [the] son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.

5 וַיִּשְׁלַח הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד וַיִּקָּחֵהוּ מִבֵּית מָכִיר בֶּן־עַמִּיאֵל מִלּוֹ דְבָֽר׃

And he sent the king David and he took him from [the] house of Makir [the] son of Ammiel from Lo Debar.

6 וַיָּבֹא מְפִיבֹשֶׁת בֶּן־יְהוֹנָתָן בֶּן־שָׁאוּל אֶל־דָּוִד וַיִּפֹּל עַל־פָּנָיו וַיִּשְׁתָּחוּ וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד מְפִיבֹשֶׁת וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

And he came Mephibosheth [the] son of Jonathan [the] son of Saul to David and he fell on face his and he bowed down and he said David O Mephibosheth and he said here! [is] servant your.

7 וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ דָוִד אַל־תִּירָא כִּי עָשֹׂה אֶעֱשֶׂה עִמְּךָ חֶסֶד בַּֽעֲבוּר יְהוֹנָתָן אָבִיךָ וַהֲשִׁבֹתִי לְךָ אֶֽת־כָּל־שְׂדֵה שָׁאוּל אָבִיךָ וְאַתָּה תֹּאכַל לֶחֶם עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִי תָּמִֽיד׃

And he said to him David may not you be afraid for certainly I will do with you covenant loyalty for sake of Jonathan father your and I will restore to you all [the] land of Saul father your and you you will eat food on table my continually.

8 וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ וַיֹּאמֶר מֶה עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי פָנִיתָ אֶל־הַכֶּלֶב הַמֵּת אֲשֶׁר כָּמֽוֹנִי׃

And he bowed down and he said what? [is] servant your that you have turned to the dog dead who [is] like me.

9 וַיִּקְרָא הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־צִיבָא נַעַר שָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו כֹּל אֲשֶׁר הָיָה לְשָׁאוּל וּלְכָל־בֵּיתוֹ נָתַתִּי לְבֶן־אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃

And he summoned the king Ziba [the] servant of Saul and he said to him all that it belonged to Saul and to all household his I have given to [the] son of master your.

10 וְעָבַדְתָּ לּוֹ אֶֽת־הָאֲדָמָה אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וַעֲבָדֶיךָ וְהֵבֵאתָ וְהָיָה לְבֶן־אֲדֹנֶיךָ לֶּחֶם וַאֲכָלוֹ וּמְפִיבֹשֶׁת בֶּן־אֲדֹנֶיךָ יֹאכַל תָּמִיד לֶחֶם עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִי וּלְצִיבָא חֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר בָּנִים וְעֶשְׂרִים עֲבָדִֽים׃

And you will work for him the land you and sons your and servants your and you will bring and it will be for [the] son of master your food and he will eat it and Mephibosheth [the] son of master your he will eat continually food on table my and [belonged] to Ziba fif-teen sons and twenty servants.

11 וַיֹּאמֶר צִיבָא אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר יְצַוֶּה אֲדֹנִי הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־עַבְדּוֹ כֵּן יַעֲשֶׂה עַבְדֶּךָ וּמְפִיבֹשֶׁת אֹכֵל עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִי כְּאַחַד מִבְּנֵי הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

And he said Ziba to the king according to all that he will command lord my the king servant his so he will do servant your and Mephibosheth [was] eating on table my like one from [the] children of the king.

12 וְלִמְפִיבֹשֶׁת בֵּן־קָטָן וּשְׁמוֹ מִיכָא וְכֹל מוֹשַׁב בֵּית־צִיבָא עֲבָדִים לִמְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃

And [belonged] to Mephibosheth a son young and name his [was] Mica and every resident of [the] house of Ziba [were] servants of Mephibosheth.

13 וּמְפִיבֹשֶׁת יֹשֵׁב בִּירוּשָׁלִַם כִּי עַל־שֻׁלְחַן הַמֶּלֶךְ תָּמִיד הוּא אֹכֵל וְהוּא פִסֵּחַ שְׁתֵּי רַגְלָֽיו׃

And Mephibosheth [was] dwelling in Jerusalem for on [the] table of the king continually he [was] eating and he ([was] lame *LA(bh)*) [the] two feet his.
