אִיּוֹב 38
| וַיַּֽעַן־יְהוָ֣ה אֶת־אִ֭יּוֹב מִ֥ן ׀ הַסְּעָרָ֗ה וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ | 1 |
And he answered Yahweh Job (from - *Q(K)*) (the tempest *Q(k)*) and he said.
| מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין בְּֽלִי־דָֽעַת׃ | 2 |
Who? this - [is] making dark counsel by words not knowledge.
| אֱזָר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ | 3 |
Gird up please like a man loins your and I will ask you and make known to me.
| אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ בְּיָסְדִי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃ | 4 |
Where? were you when founded I [the] earth tell if you know understanding.
| מִי־שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ קָּֽו׃ | 5 |
Who? did he appoint measurements its for you know or who? did he stretch out on it a measuring-line.
| עַל־מָ֭ה אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הָטְבָּ֑עוּ א֥וֹ מִֽי־יָ֝רָ֗ה אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃ | 6 |
On what? bases its were they sunk or who? did he lay [the] stone of corner its.
| בְּרָן־יַ֭חַד כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ | 7 |
When sang together [the] stars of morning and they shouted all [the] sons of God.
| וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם יָ֑ם בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃ | 8 |
And he shut off with doors [the] sea when burst forth it from [the] womb it came forth.
| בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ | 9 |
When made I cloud[s] clothing its and thick darkness swaddling-band its.
| וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו חֻקִּ֑י וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃ | 10 |
And I broke on it boundary my and I set in place a bar and doors.
| וָאֹמַ֗ר עַד־פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף וּפֹ֥א־יָ֝שִׁ֗ית בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃ | 11 |
And I said to here you will come and not you will add and here someone will fix in [the] pride of waves your.
| הְֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר יִדַּ֖עְתָּ הַשַּׁ֣חַר מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ | 12 |
¿ From days your have you commanded morning (you caused to know the dawn *Q(K)*) place its.
| לֶ֭אֱחֹז בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ | 13 |
To take hold on [the] corners of the earth so they may be shaken wicked [people] from it.
| תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃ | 14 |
It is changed like [the] clay of a seal so they may stand forth like clothing.
| וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים אוֹרָ֑ם וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃ | 15 |
So it may be withheld from wicked [people] light their and an arm uplifted it is broken.
| הֲ֭בָאתָ עַד־נִבְכֵי־יָ֑ם וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃ | 16 |
¿ Have you gone to [the] springs of [the] sea and in [the] depth of [the] deep have you walked about?
| הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ שַׁעֲרֵי־מָ֑וֶת וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת תִּרְאֶֽה׃ | 17 |
¿ Have they been revealed to you [the] gates of death and [the] gates of deep darkness have you seen?
| הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ עַד־רַחֲבֵי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃ | 18 |
Have you shown yourself attentive? to [the] broad spaces of [the] earth tell if you know all of it.
| אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁכָּן־א֑וֹר וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ אֵי־זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ | 19 |
Where? this [is] the way [where] it dwells light and darkness where? this [is] place its.
| כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ אֶל־גְּבוּל֑וֹ וְכִֽי־תָ֝בִ֗ין נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ | 20 |
That you will take it to territory its and that you will discern [the] paths of house its.
| יָ֭דַעְתָּ כִּי־אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃ | 21 |
You know for then you were born and [the] number of days your [is] many.
| הֲ֭בָאתָ אֶל־אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג וְאֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד תִּרְאֶֽה׃ | 22 |
¿ Have you gone into [the] storehouses of snow and [the] storehouses of hail have you seen?
| אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־צָ֑ר לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃ | 23 |
Which I have kept back for [the] time of distress for [the] day of battle and warfare.
| אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ | 24 |
Where? this [is] the way [where] it is divided light [where] it scatters [the] east wind over [the] earth.
| מִֽי־פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף תְּעָלָ֑ה וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ | 25 |
Who? does he divide for the flood a channel and a path for [the] storm of thunder claps.
| לְ֭הַמְטִיר עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־אִ֑ישׁ מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר לֹא־אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃ | 26 |
To send rain on a land not anyone a wilderness [which] not anyone [is] in it.
| לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃ | 27 |
To satisfy devastation and desolation and to cause to sprout a going forth of vegetation.
| הֲיֵשׁ־לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב א֥וֹ מִי־ה֝וֹלִ֗יד אֶגְלֵי־טָֽל׃ | 28 |
¿ [is] there For the rain a father or who? does he father [the] drops of dew.
| מִבֶּ֣טֶן מִ֭י יָצָ֣א הַקָּ֑רַח וּכְפֹ֥ר שָׁ֝מַיִם מִ֣י יְלָדֽוֹ׃ | 29 |
From [the] womb of whom? does it come forth the ice and [the] frost of heaven who? does he give birth to it.
| כָּ֭אֶבֶן מַ֣יִם יִתְחַבָּ֑אוּ וּפְנֵ֥י תְ֝ה֗וֹם יִתְלַכָּֽדוּ׃ | 30 |
Like stone waters they become hard and [the] surface of [the] deep they freeze.
| הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה אֽוֹ־מֹשְׁכ֖וֹת כְּסִ֣יל תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃ | 31 |
¿ Will you bind on [the] bonds of Pleiades or? [the] chains of Orion will you loosen.
| הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת בְּעִתּ֑וֹ וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ עַל־בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃ | 32 |
¿ Will you lead out [the] constellations at appropriate time its and [the] Bear with young ones its will you guide? them.
| הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם אִם־תָּשִׂ֖ים מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ בָאָֽרֶץ׃ | 33 |
¿ Do you know [the] statutes of [the] heavens or? do you appoint rule its over the earth.
| הֲתָרִ֣ים לָעָ֣ב קוֹלֶ֑ךָ וְֽשִׁפְעַת־מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃ | 34 |
¿ Will you lift up to the cloud[s] voice your and an abundance of water will you cover? yourself.
| הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח בְּרָקִ֣ים וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ וְיֹאמְר֖וּ לְךָ֣ הִנֵּֽנוּ׃ | 35 |
¿ Will you send forth lightning so they may go and they may say to you here [are] we.
| מִי־שָׁ֭ת בַּטֻּח֣וֹת חָכְמָ֑ה א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָתַ֖ן לַשֶּׂ֣כְוִי בִינָֽה׃ | 36 |
Who? has he put in the inner parts wisdom or who? has he given to the heart understanding.
| מִֽי־יְסַפֵּ֣ר שְׁחָקִ֣ים בְּחָכְמָ֑ה וְנִבְלֵ֥י שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם מִ֣י יַשְׁכִּֽיב׃ | 37 |
Who? will he count [the] clouds by wisdom and [the] waterskins of heaven who? will he make to lie down.
| בְּצֶ֣קֶת עָ֭פָר לַמּוּצָ֑ק וּרְגָבִ֥ים יְדֻבָּֽקוּ׃ | 38 |
When flows [the] dust into lump and [the] clods they are joined together.
| הֲתָצ֣וּד לְלָבִ֣יא טָ֑רֶף וְחַיַּ֖ת כְּפִירִ֣ים תְּמַלֵּֽא׃ | 39 |
¿ Will you hunt for a lion prey and [the] life of young lions will you fill?
| כִּי־יָשֹׁ֥חוּ בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת יֵשְׁב֖וּ בַסֻּכָּ֣ה לְמוֹ־אָֽרֶב׃ | 40 |
If they will crouch in dens they will remain in thicket for lying-in-wait.
| מִ֤י יָכִ֥ין לָעֹרֵ֗ב צֵ֫יד֥וֹ כִּֽי־יְ֭לָדָיו אֶל־אֵ֣ל יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ יִ֝תְע֗וּ לִבְלִי־אֹֽכֶל׃ | 41 |
Who? does he prepare for the raven food-supply its if (young ones its *Q(K)*) to God they will cry for help they will wander about for not food.
