הֹוד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה כִּי־טֹ֑וב כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃ | 1 |
Yadah ·Extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, for he is good, for his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
יֹֽאמַר־נָ֥א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃ | 2 |
Let Israel [God prevails] now say that his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
יֹֽאמְרוּ־נָ֥א בֵֽית־אַהֲרֹ֑ן כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃ | 3 |
Let the house of Aaron [Light-bringer] now say that his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
יֹֽאמְרוּ־נָ֭א יִרְאֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃ | 4 |
Now let those who fear Adonai say that his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
מִֽן־הַ֭מֵּצַ֥ר קָרָ֣אתִי יָּ֑הּ עָנָ֖נִי בַמֶּרְחָ֣ב יָֽהּ׃ | 5 |
Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom.
יְהוָ֣ה לִ֭י לֹ֣א אִירָ֑א מַה־יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה לִ֣י אָדָֽם׃ | 6 |
With Adonai on my side. I will not be afraid. What can a human being do to me?
יְהוָ֣ה לִ֭י בְּעֹזְרָ֑י וַ֝אֲנִ֗י אֶרְאֶ֥ה בְשֹׂנְאָֽי׃ | 7 |
Adonai is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
טֹ֗וב לַחֲסֹ֥ות בַּיהוָ֑ה מִ֝בְּטֹ֗חַ בָּאָדָֽם׃ | 8 |
It is better to take refuge in Adonai, than to put confidence in man.
טֹ֗וב לַחֲסֹ֥ות בַּיהוָ֑ה מִ֝בְּטֹ֗חַ בִּנְדִיבִֽים׃ | 9 |
It is better to take refuge in Adonai, than to put confidence in princes.
כָּל־גֹּויִ֥ם סְבָב֑וּנִי בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽם׃ | 10 |
All the nations surrounded me, but in Adonai’s name, I cut them off.
סַבּ֥וּנִי גַם־סְבָב֑וּנִי בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽם׃ | 11 |
They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In Adonai’s name I indeed cut them off.
סַבּ֤וּנִי כִדְבֹורִ֗ים דֹּ֭עֲכוּ כְּאֵ֣שׁ קֹוצִ֑ים בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽם׃ | 12 |
They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In Adonai’s name I cut them off.
דַּחֹ֣ה דְחִיתַ֣נִי לִנְפֹּ֑ל וַ֖יהוָ֣ה עֲזָרָֽנִי׃ | 13 |
You pushed me back hard, to make me fall, but Adonai helped me.
עָזִּ֣י וְזִמְרָ֣ת יָ֑הּ וַֽיְהִי־לִ֝֗י לִֽישׁוּעָֽה׃ | 14 |
Yah is my strength and song. He has become my yishu'ah ·salvation·.
קֹ֤ול ׀ רִנָּ֬ה וִֽישׁוּעָ֗ה בְּאָהֳלֵ֥י צַדִּיקִ֑ים יְמִ֥ין יְ֝הוָה עֹ֣שָׂה חָֽיִל׃ | 15 |
The voice of rejoicing and yishu'ah ·salvation· is in the tents of the upright. “The right hand of Adonai does valiantly.
יְמִ֣ין יְ֭הוָה רֹומֵמָ֑ה יְמִ֥ין יְ֝הוָה עֹ֣שָׂה חָֽיִל׃ | 16 |
The right hand of Adonai is exalted! The right hand of Adonai does valiantly!”
לֹֽא אָמ֥וּת כִּי־אֶֽחְיֶ֑ה וַ֝אֲסַפֵּ֗ר מַֽעֲשֵׂ֥י יָֽהּ׃ | 17 |
I will not die, but live, and declare Yah’s works.
יַסֹּ֣ר יִסְּרַ֣נִּי יָּ֑הּ וְ֝לַמָּ֗וֶת לֹ֣א נְתָנָֽנִי׃ | 18 |
Yah has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
פִּתְחוּ־לִ֥י שַׁעֲרֵי־צֶ֑דֶק אָֽבֹא־בָ֝ם אֹודֶ֥ה יָֽהּ׃ | 19 |
Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Yah.
זֶֽה־הַשַּׁ֥עַר לַיהוָ֑ה צַ֝דִּיקִ֗ים יָבֹ֥אוּ בֹֽו׃ | 20 |
This is the gate of Adonai; the upright will enter into it.
אֹ֭ודְךָ כִּ֣י עֲנִיתָ֑נִי וַתְּהִי־לִ֝֗י לִֽישׁוּעָֽה׃ | 21 |
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, for you have answered me, and have become my yishu'ah ·salvation·.
אֶ֭בֶן מָאֲס֣וּ הַבֹּונִ֑ים הָ֝יְתָ֗ה לְרֹ֣אשׁ פִּנָּֽה׃ | 22 |
The stone which the builders rejected has become the corner-stone.
מֵאֵ֣ת יְ֭הוָה הָ֣יְתָה זֹּ֑את הִ֖יא נִפְלָ֣את בְּעֵינֵֽינוּ׃ | 23 |
This is Adonai’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes.
זֶה־הַ֭יֹּום עָשָׂ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה נָגִ֖ילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָ֣ה בֹֽו׃ | 24 |
This is the day that Adonai has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
אָנָּ֣א יְ֭הוָה הֹושִׁ֘יעָ֥ה נָּ֑א אָֽנָּ֥א יְ֝הוָ֗ה הַצְלִ֘יחָ֥ה נָּֽא׃ | 25 |
Save us now, we beg you, Adonai! Adonai, we beg you, send prosperity now.
בָּר֣וּךְ הַ֭בָּא בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה בֵּ֝רַֽכְנוּכֶ֗ם מִבֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃ | 26 |
Blessed is he who comes in the name of Adonai! We have blessed you out of Adonai’s house.
אֵ֤ל ׀ יְהוָה֮ וַיָּ֪אֶר לָ֥נוּ אִסְרוּ־חַ֥ג בַּעֲבֹתִ֑ים עַד־קַ֝רְנֹ֗ות הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ | 27 |
Adonai is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
אֵלִ֣י אַתָּ֣ה וְאֹודֶ֑ךָּ אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י אֲרֹומְמֶֽךָּ׃ | 28 |
You are my God, and I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.
הֹוד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה כִּי־טֹ֑וב כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃ | 29 |
Oh yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, for he is good, for his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
