| אָדָ֥ם שֵׁ֖ת אֱנֹֽושׁ׃ | 1 |
Adam, Sheth, Enosh,
| קֵינָ֥ן מַהֲלַלְאֵ֖ל יָֽרֶד׃ | 2 |
Kenan, Mehalalel, Jered,
| חֲנֹ֥וךְ מְתוּשֶׁ֖לַח לָֽמֶךְ׃ | 3 |
Enoch, Methushelah, Lemech,
| נֹ֥חַ שֵׁ֖ם חָ֥ם וָיָֽפֶת׃ ס | 4 |
Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
| בְּנֵ֣י יֶ֔פֶת גֹּ֣מֶר וּמָגֹ֔וג וּמָדַ֖י וְיָוָ֣ן וְתֻבָ֑ל וּמֶ֖שֶׁךְ וְתִירָֽס׃ ס | 5 |
The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Meshech, and Thirass.
| וּבְנֵ֖י גֹּ֑מֶר אַשְׁכֲּנַ֥ז וְדִיפַ֖ת וְתֹוגַרְמָֽה׃ | 6 |
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenas, and Diphath, and Thogarmah.
| וּבְנֵ֥י יָוָ֖ן אֱלִישָׁ֣ה וְתַרְשִׁ֑ישָׁה כִּתִּ֖ים וְרֹודָנִֽים׃ ס | 7 |
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tharshishah, Kittim, and Rodanim.
| בְּנֵ֖י חָ֑ם כּ֥וּשׁ וּמִצְרַ֖יִם פּ֥וּט וּכְנָֽעַן׃ | 8 |
The sons of Ham: Cush, and Misrayim, Put, and Canaan.
| וּבְנֵ֣י כ֔וּשׁ סְבָא֙ וַחֲוִילָ֔ה וְסַבְתָּ֥א וְרַעְמָ֖א וְסַבְתְּכָ֑א וּבְנֵ֥י רַעְמָ֖א שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ ס | 9 |
And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Chavilah, and Sabta, and Ra'mah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Ra'mah: Sheba, and Dedan.
| וְכ֖וּשׁ יָלַ֣ד אֶת־נִמְרֹ֑וד ה֣וּא הֵחֵ֔ל לִהְיֹ֥ות גִּבֹּ֖ור בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ ס | 10 |
And Cush begat Nimrod: this one began to be a mighty man upon the earth.
| וּמִצְרַ֡יִם יָלַ֞ד אֶת־לוּדִיִּים (לוּדִ֧ים) וְאֶת־עֲנָמִ֛ים וְאֶת־לְהָבִ֖ים וְאֶת־נַפְתֻּחִֽים׃ | 11 |
And Mizrayim begat the Ludim, and there the 'Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuchim,
| וְֽאֶת־פַּתְרֻסִ֞ים וְאֶת־כַּסְלֻחִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצְא֥וּ מִשָּׁ֛ם פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וְאֶת־כַּפְתֹּרִֽים׃ ס | 12 |
And the Pathrussim, and the Cassluchim, of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphthorim.
| וּכְנַ֗עַן יָלַ֛ד אֶת־צִידֹ֥ון בְּכֹרֹ֖ו וְאֶת־חֵֽת׃ | 13 |
And Canaan begat Zidon, his first-born, and Heth.
| וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִי֙ וְאֶת־הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י וְאֵ֖ת הַגִּרְגָּשִֽׁי׃ | 14 |
And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgashite,
| וְאֶת־הַחִוִּ֥י וְאֶת־הֽ͏ַעַרְקִ֖י וְאֶת־הַסִּינִֽי׃ | 15 |
And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
| וְאֶת־הָאַרְוָדִ֥י וְאֶת־הַצְּמָרִ֖י וְאֶת־הֽ͏ַחֲמָתִֽי׃ ס | 16 |
And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Chamathite.
| בְּנֵ֣י שֵׁ֔ם עֵילָ֣ם וְאַשּׁ֔וּר וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד וְל֣וּד וַאֲרָ֑ם וְע֥וּץ וְח֖וּל וְגֶ֥תֶר וָמֶֽשֶׁךְ׃ ס | 17 |
The sons of Shem: 'Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and 'Uz, and Chul, and Gether, and Meshech.
| וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד יָלַ֣ד אֶת־שָׁ֑לַח וְשֶׁ֖לַח יָלַ֥ד אֶת־עֵֽבֶר׃ | 18 |
And Arpachshad begat Shelach, and Shelach begat 'Eber.
| וּלְעֵ֥בֶר יֻלַּ֖ד שְׁנֵ֣י בָנִ֑ים שֵׁ֣ם הָאֶחָ֞ד פֶּ֗לֶג כִּ֤י בְיָמָיו֙ נִפְלְגָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ וְשֵׁ֥ם אָחִ֖יו יָקְטָֽן׃ | 19 |
And unto 'Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
| וְיָקְטָ֣ן יָלַ֔ד אֶת־אַלְמֹודָ֖ד וְאֶת־שָׁ֑לֶף וְאֶת־חֲצַרְמָ֖וֶת וְאֶת־יָֽרַח׃ | 20 |
And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Chazarmaveth, and Jerach,
| וְאֶת־הֲדֹורָ֥ם וְאֶת־אוּזָ֖ל וְאֶת־דִּקְלָֽה׃ | 21 |
And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
| וְאֶת־עֵיבָ֥ל וְאֶת־אֲבִימָאֵ֖ל וְאֶת־שְׁבָֽא׃ | 22 |
And 'Ebal and Abimael, and Sheba,
| וְאֶת־אֹופִ֥יר וְאֶת־חֲוִילָ֖ה וְאֶת־יֹובָ֑ב כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י יָקְטָֽן׃ ס | 23 |
And Ophir, and Chavilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
| שֵׁ֥ם ׀ אַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד שָֽׁלַח׃ | 24 |
Shem, Arpachshad, Shelach,
| עֵ֥בֶר פֶּ֖לֶג רְעֽוּ׃ | 25 |
'Eber, Peleg, Re'u,
| שְׂר֥וּג נָחֹ֖ור תָּֽרַח׃ | 26 |
Serug, Nachor, Terach,
| אַבְרָ֖ם ה֥וּא אַבְרָהָֽם׃ ס | 27 |
Abram, the same is Abraham.
| בְּנֵי֙ אַבְרָהָ֔ם יִצְחָ֖ק וְיִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ ס | 28 |
The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishma'el.
| אֵ֖לֶּה תֹּלְדֹותָ֑ם בְּכֹ֤ור יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ נְבָיֹ֔ות וְקֵדָ֥ר וְאַדְבְּאֵ֖ל וּמִבְשָֽׂם׃ | 29 |
These are their generations: The first-born of Ishma'el, Nebayoth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
| מִשְׁמָ֣ע וְדוּמָ֔ה מַשָּׂ֖א חֲדַ֥ד וְתֵימָֽא׃ | 30 |
Mishma', and Dumah, Massa, Chadad, and Thema,
| יְט֥וּר נָפִ֖ישׁ וָקֵ֑דְמָה אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ ס | 31 |
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishma'el.
| וּבְנֵ֨י קְטוּרָ֜ה פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ אַבְרָהָ֗ם יָלְדָ֞ה אֶת־זִמְרָ֧ן וְיָקְשָׁ֛ן וּמְדָ֥ן וּמִדְיָ֖ן וְיִשְׁבָּ֣ק וְשׁ֑וּחַ וּבְנֵ֥י יָקְשָׁ֖ן שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ ס | 32 |
And the sons of Keturah, the concubine of Abraham: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Yishbak, and Shuach. And the sons Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
| וּבְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֗ן עֵיפָ֤ה וָעֵ֙פֶר֙ וַחֲנֹ֔וךְ וַאֲבִידָ֖ע וְאֶלְדָּעָ֑ה כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה׃ ס | 33 |
And the sons of Midian: 'Ephah, and 'Epher, and Chanoch, and Abida', and Elda'ah. All these are the sons of Keturah.
| וַיֹּ֥ולֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֶת־יִצְחָ֑ק ס בְּנֵ֣י יִצְחָ֔ק עֵשָׂ֖ו וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס | 34 |
And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
| בְּנֵ֖י עֵשָׂ֑ו אֱלִיפַ֛ז רְעוּאֵ֥ל וִיע֖וּשׁ וְיַעְלָ֥ם וְקֹֽרַח׃ ס | 35 |
The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Re'uel, and Ye'ush, and Ya'lam, and Korach.
| בְּנֵ֖י אֱלִיפָ֑ז תֵּימָ֤ן וְאֹומָר֙ צְפִ֣י וְגַעְתָּ֔ם קְנַ֖ז וְתִמְנָ֥ע וַעֲמָלֵֽק׃ ס | 36 |
The sons of Eliphaz: Theman, and Omar, Zephi, and Ga'tam, Kenas, and Thimna', and 'Amalek.
| בְּנֵ֖י רְעוּאֵ֑ל נַ֥חַת זֶ֖רַח שַׁמָּ֥ה וּמִזָּֽה׃ ס | 37 |
The sons of Re'uel: Nachath, Zerach, Shammah, and Mizzah.
| וּבְנֵ֣י שֵׂעִ֔יר לֹוטָ֥ן וְשֹׁובָ֖ל וְצִבְעֹ֣ון וֽ͏ַעֲנָ֑ה וְדִישֹׁ֥ן וְאֵ֖צֶר וְדִישָֽׁן׃ | 38 |
And the sons of Se'ir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zib'on, and 'Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
| וּבְנֵ֥י לֹוטָ֖ן חֹרִ֣י וְהֹומָ֑ם וַאֲחֹ֥ות לֹוטָ֖ן תִּמְנָֽע׃ ס | 39 |
And the sons of Lotan: Chori, and Homam: and the sister of Lotan: Thimna'.
| בְּנֵ֣י שֹׁובָ֔ל עַלְיָ֧ן וּמָנַ֛חַת וְעֵיבָ֖ל שְׁפִ֣י וְאֹונָ֑ם ס וּבְנֵ֥י צִבְעֹ֖ון אַיָּ֥ה וַעֲנָֽה׃ | 40 |
The sons of Shobal: 'Alyan, and Manachath, and 'Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zib'on: 'Ayah, and 'Anah.
| בְּנֵ֥י עֲנָ֖ה דִּישֹׁ֑ון ס וּבְנֵ֣י דִישֹׁ֔ון חַמְרָ֥ן וְאֶשְׁבָּ֖ן וְיִתְרָ֥ן וּכְרָֽן׃ ס | 41 |
The sons of 'Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Chamran, and Eshban, and Yithran, and Cheran.
| בְּֽנֵי־אֵ֔צֶר בִּלְהָ֥ן וְזַעֲוָ֖ן יַעֲקָ֑ן בְּנֵ֥י דִישֹׁ֖ון ע֥וּץ וַאֲרָֽן׃ פ | 42 |
The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Za'avan, and Ja'akan. The sons of Dishan: 'Uz, and Aran.
| וְאֵ֣לֶּה הַמְּלָכִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מָלְכוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱדֹ֔ום לִפְנֵ֥י מְלָךְ־מֶ֖לֶךְ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בֶּ֚לַע בֶּן־בְּעֹ֔ור וְשֵׁ֥ם עִירֹ֖ו דִּנְהָֽבָה׃ | 43 |
And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela' the son of Be'or; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
| וַיָּ֖מָת בָּ֑לַע וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו יֹובָ֥ב בֶּן־זֶ֖רַח מִבָּצְרָֽה׃ | 44 |
And Bela' died, and there reigned in his stead Jobab the son of Zerach of Bozrah.
| וַיָּ֖מָת יֹובָ֑ב וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו חוּשָׁ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ הַתֵּימָנִֽי׃ | 45 |
And Jobab died, and there reigned in his stead Chusham of the land of Theman.
| וַיָּ֖מָת חוּשָׁ֑ם וַיִּמְלֹ֨ךְ תַּחְתָּ֜יו הֲדַ֣ד בֶּן־בְּדַ֗ד הַמַּכֶּ֤ה אֶת־מִדְיָן֙ בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה מֹואָ֔ב וְשֵׁ֥ם עִירֹ֖ו עֲיֹות (עֲוִֽית)׃ | 46 |
And Chusham died and there reigned in his stead Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab; and the name of his city was 'Avith.
| וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שַׂמְלָ֖ה מִמַּשְׂרֵקָֽה׃ | 47 |
And Hadad died, and there reigned in his stead Samlah of Massrekah.
| וַיָּ֖מָת שַׂמְלָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שָׁא֖וּל מֵרְחֹבֹ֥ות הַנָּהָֽר׃ | 48 |
And Samlah died, and there reigned in his stead Saul of Rechoboth by the river.
| וַיָּ֖מָת שָׁא֑וּל וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו בַּ֥עַל חָנָ֖ן בֶּן־עַכְבֹּֽור׃ | 49 |
And Saul died, and there reigned in his stead Ba'al-chanan the son of 'Achbor.
| וַיָּ֙מָת֙ בַּ֣עַל חָנָ֔ן וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ תַּחְתָּיו֙ הֲדַ֔ד וְשֵׁ֥ם עִירֹ֖ו פָּ֑עִי וְשֵׁ֨ם אִשְׁתֹּ֤ו מְהֵיטַבְאֵל֙ בַּת־מַטְרֵ֔ד בַּ֖ת מֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃ | 50 |
And Ba'al-chanan died, and there reigned in his stead Hadad; and the name of his city was Pa'i; and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
| וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד ס וַיִּהְיוּ֙ אַלּוּפֵ֣י אֱדֹ֔ום אַלּ֥וּף תִּמְנָ֛ע אַלּ֥וּף עַלְיָה (עַֽלְוָ֖ה) אַלּ֥וּף יְתֵֽת׃ | 51 |
Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were: Thimna', duke 'Alvah, duke Jetheth,
| אַלּ֧וּף אָהֳלִיבָמָ֛ה אַלּ֥וּף אֵלָ֖ה אַלּ֥וּף פִּינֹֽן׃ | 52 |
Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
| אַלּ֥וּף קְנַ֛ז אַלּ֥וּף תֵּימָ֖ן אַלּ֣וּף מִבְצָֽר׃ | 53 |
Duke Kenas, duke Theman, duke Mibzar,
| אַלּ֥וּף מַגְדִּיאֵ֖ל אַלּ֣וּף עִירָ֑ם אֵ֖לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֥י אֱדֹֽום׃ פ | 54 |
Duke Magdiel, duke 'Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
