< תהילים 116 >
אָהַבְתִּי כִּי־יִשְׁמַע ׀ יְהֹוָה אֶת־קוֹלִי תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ | 1 |
I 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai, because he sh'ma ·hears obeys· my voice, and my cries for mercy.
כִּי־הִטָּה אׇזְנוֹ לִי וּבְיָמַי אֶקְרָֽא׃ | 2 |
Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
אֲפָפוּנִי ׀ חֶבְלֵי־מָוֶת וּמְצָרֵי שְׁאוֹל מְצָאוּנִי צָרָה וְיָגוֹן אֶמְצָֽא׃ (Sheol ) | 3 |
The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol ·Place of the dead· got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol )
וּבְשֵֽׁם־יְהֹוָה אֶקְרָא אָנָּה יְהֹוָה מַלְּטָה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ | 4 |
Then I called on Adonai’s name: “Adonai, I beg you, deliver my soul.”
חַנּוּן יְהֹוָה וְצַדִּיק וֵאלֹהֵינוּ מְרַחֵֽם׃ | 5 |
Adonai is gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is racham ·merciful love·.
שֹׁמֵר פְּתָאיִם יְהֹוָה דַּלֹּתִי וְלִי יְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ | 6 |
Adonai preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.
שׁוּבִי נַפְשִׁי לִמְנוּחָיְכִי כִּֽי־יְהֹוָה גָּמַל עָלָֽיְכִי׃ | 7 |
Teshuvah ·Completely return· to your rest, my soul, for Adonai has dealt bountifully with you.
כִּי חִלַּצְתָּ נַפְשִׁי מִמָּוֶת אֶת־עֵינִי מִן־דִּמְעָה אֶת־רַגְלִי מִדֶּֽחִי׃ | 8 |
For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
אֶתְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה בְּאַרְצוֹת הַחַיִּֽים׃ | 9 |
I will walk before Adonai in the land of the living.
הֶאֱמַנְתִּי כִּי אֲדַבֵּר אֲנִי עָנִיתִי מְאֹֽד׃ | 10 |
I trusted, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”
אֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחׇפְזִי כׇּֽל־הָאָדָם כֹּזֵֽב׃ | 11 |
I said in my haste, “All men are liars.”
מָה־אָשִׁיב לַיהֹוָה כׇּֽל־תַּגְמוּלוֹהִי עָלָֽי׃ | 12 |
What will I give to Adonai for all his benefits toward me?
כּוֹס־יְשׁוּעוֹת אֶשָּׂא וּבְשֵׁם יְהֹוָה אֶקְרָֽא׃ | 13 |
I will take the cup of yishu'ah ·salvation·, and call on Adonai’s name.
נְדָרַי לַיהֹוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכׇל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ | 14 |
I will pay my vows to Adonai, yes, in the presence of all his people.
יָקָר בְּעֵינֵי יְהֹוָה הַמָּוְתָה לַחֲסִידָֽיו׃ | 15 |
Precious in Adonai’s sight is the death of his saints.
אָנָּה יְהֹוָה כִּֽי־אֲנִי עַבְדֶּךָ אֲנִי־עַבְדְּךָ בֶּן־אֲמָתֶךָ פִּתַּחְתָּ לְמֽוֹסֵרָֽי׃ | 16 |
Adonai, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant. You have freed me from my chains.
לְֽךָ־אֶזְבַּח זֶבַח תּוֹדָה וּבְשֵׁם יְהֹוָה אֶקְרָֽא׃ | 17 |
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Adonai’s name.
נְדָרַי לַיהֹוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכׇל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ | 18 |
I will pay my vows to Adonai, yes, in the presence of all his people,
בְּחַצְרוֹת ׀ בֵּית יְהֹוָה בְּֽתוֹכֵכִי יְֽרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ | 19 |
in the courts of Adonai’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem [City of peace]. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
