תהילים 76

1 למנצח בנגינת מזמור לאסף שיר ב נודע ביהודה אלהים בישראל גדול שמו

For the chief musician, on stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph, a song. God has made himself known in Judah; his name is great in Israel.

2 ויהי בשלם סוכו ומעונתו בציון

His tent is in Salem; his dwelling place is in Zion.

3 שמה שבר רשפי-קשת מגן וחרב ומלחמה סלה

There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, the sword, and the other weapons of war. (Selah)

4 נאור אתה אדיר-- מהררי-טרף

You shine brightly and reveal your glory, as you descend from the mountains, where you killed your victims.

5 אשתוללו אבירי לב-- נמו שנתם ולא-מצאו כל-אנשי-חיל ידיהם

The bravehearted were plundered; they fell asleep. All the warriors were helpless.

6 מגערתך אלהי יעקב נרדם ורכב וסוס

At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both rider and horse fell asleep.

7 אתה נורא אתה--ומי-יעמד לפניך מאז אפך

You, yes you, are to be feared; who can stand in your sight when you are angry?

8 משמים השמעת דין ארץ יראה ושקטה

From heaven you made your judgment heard; the earth was afraid and silent

9 בקום-למשפט אלהים-- להושיע כל-ענוי-ארץ סלה

when you, God, arose to execute judgment and to save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

10 כי-חמת אדם תודך שארית חמת תחגר

Surely your angry judgment against humanity will bring you praise; you gird yourself with what is left of your anger.

11 נדרו ושלמו ליהוה אלהיכם כל-סביביו--יבילו שי למורא

Make vows to Yahweh your God and keep them. May all who surround him bring gifts to him who is to be feared.

12 יבצר רוח נגידים נורא למלכי-ארץ

He cuts off the spirit of the princes; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
