תהילים 63

1 מזמור לדוד בהיותו במדבר יהודה ב אלהים אלי אתה-- אשחרך צמאה לך נפשי-- כמה לך בשרי בארץ-ציה ועיף בלי-מים

“A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.” O God! thou art my God! earnestly do I seek thee! My soul thirsteth, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry, thirsty land. where is no water!

2 כן בקדש חזיתך-- לראות עזך וכבודך

Thus I look toward thee in thy sanctuary, To behold thy power and thy glory!

3 כי-טוב חסדך מחיים שפתי ישבחונך

For thy loving-kindness is better than life; Therefore my lips shall praise thee!

4 כן אברכך בחיי בשמך אשא כפי

Thus will I bless thee, while I live; In thy name will I lift up my hands!

5 כמו חלב ודשן תשבע נפשי ושפתי רננות יהלל-פי

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And with joyful lips my mouth shall praise thee,

6 אם-זכרתיך על-יצועי-- באשמרות אהגה-בך

When I think of thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night-watches.

7 כי-היית עזרתה לי ובצל כנפיך ארנן

For thou art my help, And in the shadow of thy wings I rejoice.

8 דבקה נפשי אחריך בי תמכה ימינך

My soul cleaveth to thee; Thy right hand holdeth me up.

9 והמה--לשואה יבקשו נפשי יבאו בתחתיות הארץ

While they who seek to destroy my life Shall themselves go down into the depths of the earth.

10 יגירהו על-ידי-חרב מנת שעלים יהיו

They shall be given up to the sword, And be a portion for jackals.

11 והמלך ישמח באלהים יתהלל כל-הנשבע בו כי יסכר פי דוברי-שקר

But the king shall rejoice in God; All that swear by him shall be honored; But the mouth of liars shall be stopped.
