תהילים 33

1 רננו צדיקים ביהוה לישרים נאוה תהלה

Shout for joy, ye righteous, in Yahweh, To the upright, seemly is praise.

2 הודו ליהוה בכנור בנבל עשור זמרו-לו

Give ye thanks unto Yahweh with the lyre, With a harp of ten strings, make ye music unto him.

3 שירו-לו שיר חדש היטיבו נגן בתרועה

Sing unto him, a song that is new, With skill, sweep the strings, with loud noise.

4 כי-ישר דבר-יהוה וכל-מעשהו באמונה

For right is the word of Yahweh, and, all his work, is in faithfulness:

5 אהב צדקה ומשפט חסד יהוה מלאה הארץ

Who loveth righteousness and justice, With the lovingkindness of Yahweh, the earth is full.

6 בדבר יהוה שמים נעשו וברוח פיו כל-צבאם

By the word of Yahweh, the heavens were made, and, by the spirit of his mouth, all their host:

7 כנס כנד מי הים נתן באוצרות תהומות

Who gathered as into a skin-bottle the waters of the sea, Delivering, into treasuries, the roaring deeps.

8 ייראו מיהוה כל-הארץ ממנו יגורו כל-ישבי תבל

Let all the earth, stand in awe of Yahweh, Of him, be in dread, all ye inhabitants of the world;

9 כי הוא אמר ויהי הוא-צוה ויעמד

For, he, spake, and it was, He, commanded, and it stood forth.

10 יהוה הפיר עצת-גוים הניא מחשבות עמים

Yahweh, hath frustrated the counsel of nations, hath brought to nothing the devices of peoples.

11 עצת יהוה לעולם תעמד מחשבות לבו לדר ודר

The counsel of Yahweh, to times age-abiding, shall stand, The devices of his heart, from generation to generation.

12 אשרי הגוי אשר-יהוה אלהיו העם בחר לנחלה לו

How happy the nation whose God is, Yahweh, The people he hath chosen as his own inheritance!

13 משמים הביט יהוה ראה את-כל-בני האדם

Out of the heavens, hath Yahweh looked, He hath seen all the sons of men:

14 ממכון-שבתו השגיח-- אל כל-ישבי הארץ

Out of his settled place of abode, hath he fixed his gaze on all the inhabitants of the earth:

15 היצר יחד לבם המבין אל-כל-מעשיהם

Who fashioneth their heart all together, Who understandeth all their doings.

16 אין-המלך נושע ברב-חיל גבור לא-ינצל ברב-כח

Not a king, can be saved by greatness of force, nor, hero, deliver himself by greatness of strength:

17 שקר הסוס לתשועה וברב חילו לא ימלט

A deception, is the horse, for victory, and, by his great strength, shall he not deliver.

18 הנה עין יהוה אל-יראיו למיחלים לחסדו

Lo! the eye of Yahweh, is toward them who revere him, unto such as are waiting for his lovingkindness:

19 להציל ממות נפשם ולחיותם ברעב

To rescue, from death, their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 נפשנו חכתה ליהוה עזרנו ומגננו הוא

Our own soul, hath waited for Yahweh, Our help and our shield, is he!

21 כי-בו ישמח לבנו כי בשם קדשו בטחנו

For, in him, shall our heart rejoice, For, in his holy Name, have we trusted.

22 יהי-חסדך יהוה עלינו כאשר יחלנו לך

Be thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, upon us, According as we have waited for thee.
