| מכתם לדוד שמרני אל כי-חסיתי בך | 1 |
A Precious Psalm of David. Preserve me, O GOD, for I have sought refuge in thee.
| אמרת ליהוה אדני אתה טובתי בל-עליך | 2 |
Thou hast said unto Yahweh, My Lord, art thou! My goodness, mounteth not unto thee.
| לקדושים אשר-בארץ המה ואדירי כל-חפצי-בם | 3 |
It belongeth unto the holy ones, whom, in his own land, Yahweh, ennobleth, In whom is all his delight
| ירבו עצבותם אחר מהרו בל-אסיך נסכיהם מדם ובל-אשא את-שמותם על-שפתי | 4 |
They multiply their idols—another, have they purchased! I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor will I take up their names on my lips.
| יהוה מנת-חלקי וכוסי-- אתה תומיך גורלי | 5 |
Yahweh, is mine allotted portion and my cup, Thou, art maintaining my lot.
| חבלים נפלו-לי בנעמים אף-נחלת שפרה עלי | 6 |
The lines, have fallen unto me, in pleasant places, Verily an inheritance that delighteth me.
| אברך--את-יהוה אשר יעצני אף-לילות יסרוני כליותי | 7 |
I will bless Yahweh, who hath counselled me, —Surely, by night, shall mine impulses admonish me.
| שויתי יהוה לנגדי תמיד כי מימיני בל-אמוט | 8 |
I have set Yahweh before me continually, because he is on my right hand, I shall not be shaken!
| לכן שמח לבי--ויגל כבודי אף-בשרי ישכן לבטח | 9 |
Therefore, hath my heart rejoiced, and mine honour exulted, Yea, my flesh, shall settle down securely;
| כי לא-תעזב נפשי לשאול לא-תתן חסידך לראות שחת (Sheol h7585) | 10 |
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to hades, neither wilt thou suffer thy man of lovingkindness, to see corruption: (Sheol h7585)
| תודיעני ארח חיים שבע שמחות את-פניך נעמות בימינך נצח | 11 |
Thou wilt cause me to know, the path of life, —Fulness of joys before thee, Pleasures at thy right hand evermore.
