| וידבר יהוה אל משה ואל אהרן לאמר | 1 |
And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
| איש על דגלו באתת לבית אבתם יחנו בני ישראל מנגד סביב לאהל מועד יחנו | 2 |
The sons of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the ensigns of their fathers' houses. They shall encamp round about opposite the tent of meeting.
| והחנים קדמה מזרחה דגל מחנה יהודה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני יהודה נחשון בן עמינדב | 3 |
And those who encamp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be those of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--ארבעה ושבעים אלף ושש מאות | 4 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
| והחנים עליו מטה יששכר ונשיא לבני יששכר נתנאל בן צוער | 5 |
And those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar. And the ruler of the sons of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.
| וצבאו ופקדיו--ארבעה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות | 6 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of it, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
| מטה זבולן ונשיא לבני זבולן אליאב בן חלן | 7 |
Then the tribe of Zebulun. And the ruler of the sons of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon.
| וצבאו ופקדיו--שבעה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות | 8 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of it, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
| כל הפקדים למחנה יהודה מאת אלף ושמנים אלף וששת אלפים וארבע מאות--לצבאתם ראשנה יסעו | 9 |
All who were numbered of the camp of Judah were a hundred eighty-six thousand and four hundred, according to their armies. They shall set forth first.
| דגל מחנה ראובן תימנה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני ראובן אליצור בן שדיאור | 10 |
On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.
| וצבאו ופקדיו--ששה וארבעים אלף וחמש מאות | 11 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of it, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.
| והחונם עליו מטה שמעון ונשיא לבני שמעון שלמיאל בן צורישדי | 12 |
And those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon. And the ruler of the sons of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--תשעה וחמשים אלף ושלש מאות | 13 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
| ומטה גד ונשיא לבני גד אליסף בן רעואל | 14 |
Then the tribe of Gad. And the ruler of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--חמשה וארבעים אלף ושש מאות וחמשים | 15 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
| כל הפקדים למחנה ראובן מאת אלף ואחד וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות וחמשים--לצבאתם ושנים יסעו | 16 |
All who were numbered of the camp of Reuben were a hundred fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty, according to their armies. And they shall set forth second.
| ונסע אהל מועד מחנה הלוים בתוך המחנת כאשר יחנו כן יסעו איש על ידו לדגליהם | 17 |
Then the tent of meeting shall set forward, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place, by their standards.
| דגל מחנה אפרים לצבאתם ימה ונשיא לבני אפרים אלישמע בן עמיהוד | 18 |
On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--ארבעים אלף וחמש מאות | 19 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred.
| ועליו מטה מנשה ונשיא לבני מנשה גמליאל בן פדהצור | 20 |
And next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh. And the ruler of the sons of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--שנים ושלשים אלף ומאתים | 21 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
| ומטה בנימן ונשיא לבני בנימן אבידן בן גדעני | 22 |
Then the tribe of Benjamin. And the ruler of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--חמשה ושלשים אלף וארבע מאות | 23 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
| כל הפקדים למחנה אפרים מאת אלף ושמנת אלפים ומאה--לצבאתם ושלשים יסעו | 24 |
All who were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were a hundred eight thousand and a hundred, according to their armies. And they shall set forth third.
| דגל מחנה דן צפנה לצבאתם ונשיא לבני דן אחיעזר בן עמישדי | 25 |
On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--שנים וששים אלף ושבע מאות | 26 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
| והחנים עליו מטה אשר ונשיא לבני אשר פגעיאל בן עכרן | 27 |
And those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher. And the ruler of the sons of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ochran.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--אחד וארבעים אלף וחמש מאות | 28 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.
| ומטה נפתלי ונשיא לבני נפתלי אחירע בן עינן | 29 |
Then the tribe of Naphtali. And the ruler of the sons of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.
| וצבאו ופקדיהם--שלשה וחמשים אלף וארבע מאות | 30 |
And his army, and those who were numbered of them, were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
| כל הפקדים למחנה דן--מאת אלף ושבעה וחמשים אלף ושש מאות לאחרנה יסעו לדגליהם | 31 |
All that were numbered of the camp of Dan were a hundred fifty-seven thousand and six hundred. They shall set forth rearmost by their standards.
| אלה פקודי בני ישראל לבית אבתם כל פקודי המחנת לצבאתם--שש מאות אלף ושלשת אלפים וחמש מאות וחמשים | 32 |
These are those who were numbered of the sons of Israel by their fathers' houses. All who were numbered of the camps according to their armies were six hundred three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
| והלוים--לא התפקדו בתוך בני ישראל כאשר צוה יהוה את משה | 33 |
But the Levites were not numbered among the sons of Israel, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
| ויעשו בני ישראל ככל אשר צוה יהוה את משה כן חנו לדגליהם וכן נסעו--איש למשפחתיו על בית אבתיו | 34 |
Thus did the sons of Israel. According to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set forward, everyone by their families, according to their fathers' houses.
