| אלה בני ישראל ראובן שמעון לוי ויהודה יששכר וזבלון | 1 |
And these are the sons of Israel: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, and Zabulon,
| דן יוסף ובנימן נפתלי גד ואשר | 2 |
Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephtali, Gad, and Aser.
| בני יהודה ער ואונן ושלה--שלושה נולד לו מבת שוע הכנענית ויהי ער בכור יהודה רע בעיני יהוה--וימיתהו | 3 |
The sons of Juda: Her, Onan and Sela. These three were born to him of the Chanaanitess the daughter of Sue. And Her the firstborn of Juda, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he slew him.
| ותמר כלתו ילדה לו את פרץ ואת זרח כל בני יהודה חמשה | 4 |
And Thamar his daughter in law bore him Phares and Zara. So all the sons of Juda were five.
| בני פרץ חצרון וחמול | 5 |
And the sons of Phares, were Hesron and Hamul.
| ובני זרח זמרי ואיתן והימן וכלכל ודרע--כלם חמשה | 6 |
And the sons also of Zare: Zamri, and Ethan, and Eman, and Chalchal, and Dara, five in all.
| ובני כרמי--עכר עוכר ישראל אשר מעל בחרם | 7 |
And the sons of a Charmi: Achar, who troubled Israel, and sinned by the theft of the anathema.
| ובני איתן עזריה | 8 |
The sons of Ethan: Azarias,
| ובני חצרון אשר נולד לו--את ירחמאל ואת רם ואת כלובי | 9 |
And the sons of Hesron that were born to him: Jerameel, and Ram, and Calubi.
| ורם הוליד את עמינדב ועמינדב הוליד את נחשון נשיא בני יהודה | 10 |
And Ram beget Aminadab, and Aminadab beget Nahasson, prince of the children of Juda.
| ונחשון הוליד את שלמא ושלמא הוליד את בעז | 11 |
And Nahasson beget Salma, the father of Boot.
| ובעז הוליד את עובד ועובד הוליד את ישי | 12 |
And Boot beget Obed, and Obed beget Isai.
| ואישי הוליד את בכרו את אליאב--ואבינדב השני ושמעא השלשי | 13 |
And Isai beget Eliab his firstborn, the second Abinadab, the third Simmaa,
| נתנאל הרביעי רדי החמישי | 14 |
The fourth, Nathanael, the fifth Raddai,
| אצם הששי דויד השבעי | 15 |
The sixth Asom, the seventh David.
| ואחיתיהם צרויה ואביגיל ובני צרויה אבשי ויואב ועשהאל--שלשה | 16 |
And their sisters were Sarvia, and Abigail. The sons of Sarvia: Abisai, Joab, and Asael, three.
| ואביגיל ילדה את עמשא ואבי עמשא יתר הישמעאלי | 17 |
And Abigail bore Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ismahelite.
| וכלב בן חצרון הוליד את עזובה אשה--ואת יריעות ואלה בניה ישר ושובב וארדון | 18 |
And Caleb the son of Hesron took a wife named Azuba, of whom he had Jerioth: and her sons were Jaser, and Sobab, and Ardon.
| ותמת עזובה ויקח לו כלב את אפרת ותלד לו את חור | 19 |
And when Azuba was dead, Caleb took to wife Ephrata: who bore him Hur.
| וחור הוליד את אורי ואורי הוליד את בצלאל | 20 |
And Hur beget Uri: and Uri beget Bezeleel.
| ואחר בא חצרון אל בת מכיר אבי גלעד והוא לקחה והוא בן ששים שנה ותלד לו את שגוב | 21 |
And afterwards Hesron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and took her to wife when he was threescore years old: and she bore him Segub.
| ושגוב הוליד את יאיר ויהי לו עשרים ושלוש ערים בארץ הגלעד | 22 |
And Segub beget Jair, and he had three and twenty cities in the land of Galaad.
| ויקח גשור וארם את חות יאיר מאתם את קנת ואת בנתיה--ששים עיר כל אלה בני מכיר אבי גלעד | 23 |
And he took Gessur, and Aram the towns of Jair, and Canath, and the villages thereof, threescore cities. All these, the sons of Machir father of Galaad.
| ואחר מות חצרון בכלב אפרתה ואשת חצרון אביה ותלד לו את אשחור אבי תקוע | 24 |
And when Hesron was dead, Caleb went in to Ephrata. Hesron also had to wife Abia who bore him Ashur the father of Thecua.
| ויהיו בני ירחמאל בכור חצרון הבכור רם ובונה וארן ואצם אחיה | 25 |
And the sons of Jerameel the firstborn of Hesron, were Ram his firstborn, and Buna, and Aram, and Asom, and Achia.
| ותהי אשה אחרת לירחמאל ושמה עטרה היא אם אונם | 26 |
And Jerameel married another wife, named Atara, who was the mother of Onam.
| ויהיו בני רם בכור ירחמאל--מעץ וימין ועקר | 27 |
And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerameel, were Moos, Jamin, and Achar.
| ויהיו בני אונם שמי וידע ובני שמי נדב ואבישור | 28 |
And Onam had sons Semei, and Jada. And the sons of Semei: Nadab, and Abisur.
| ושם אשת אבישור אביהיל ותלד לו את אחבן ואת מוליד | 29 |
And the name of Abisur’s wife was Abihail, who bore him Ahobban, and Molid.
| ובני נדב סלד ואפים וימת סלד לא בנים | 30 |
And the sons of Nadab were Saled, and Apphaim. And Saled died without children.
| ובני אפים ישעי ובני ישעי ששן ובני ששן אחלי | 31 |
But the son of Apphaim was Jesi: and Jesi beget Sesan. And Sesan beget Oholai.
| ובני ידע אחי שמי יתר ויונתן וימת יתר לא בנים | 32 |
And the sons of Jada the brother of Semei: Jether and Jonathan. And Jether also died without children.
| ובני יונתן פלת וזזא אלה היו בני ירחמאל | 33 |
But Jonathan beget Phaleth, and Ziza, These were the sons of Jerameel.
| ולא היה לששן בנים כי אם בנות ולששן עבד מצרי ושמו ירחע | 34 |
And Sesan had no sons, but daughters and a servant an Egyptian, named Jeraa.
| ויתן ששן את בתו לירחע עבדו לאשה ותלד לו את עתי | 35 |
And he gave him his daughter to wife: and she bore him Ethei.
| ועתי הליד את נתן ונתן הוליד את זבד | 36 |
And Ethei begot Nathan, and Nathan beget Zabad.
| וזבד הוליד את אפלל ואפלל הוליד את עובד | 37 |
And Zabad beget Ophlal, and Ophlal beget Obed.
| ועובד הוליד את יהוא ויהוא הליד את עזריה | 38 |
Obed beget Jehu, Jehu beget Azarias.
| ועזריה הליד את חלץ וחלץ הליד את אלעשה | 39 |
Azarias beget Helles, and Helles begot Elasa.
| ואלעשה הליד את ססמי וססמי הליד את שלום | 40 |
Elasa beget Sisamoi, Sisamoi beget Sellum,
| ושלום הוליד את יקמיה ויקמיה הליד את אלישמע | 41 |
Sellum beget Icamia, and Icamia begot Elisama.
| ובני כלב אחי ירחמאל מישע בכרו הוא אבי זיף ובני מרשה אבי חברון | 42 |
Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerameel were Mesa his firstborn, who was the father of Siph: and the sons of Maresa father of Hebron.
| ובני חברון--קרח ותפח ורקם ושמע | 43 |
And the sons of Hebron, Core, and Thaphua, and Recem, and Samma.
| ושמע הוליד את רחם אבי ירקעם ורקם הוליד את שמי | 44 |
And Samma beget Raham, the father of Jercaam, and Recem beget Sammai.
| ובן שמי מעון ומעון אבי בית צור | 45 |
The son of Sammai, Maon: and Maon the father of Bethsur.
| ועיפה פילגש כלב ילדה את חרן ואת מוצא ואת גזז וחרן הליד את גזז | 46 |
And Epha the concubine of Caleb bore Haran, and Mesa, and Gezez. And Haran beget Gezez.
| ובני יהדי--רגם ויותם וגישן ופלט ועיפה ושעף | 47 |
And the sons of Jahaddai, Rogom, and Joathan, and Gesan, and Phalet, and Epha, and Saaph.
| פילגש כלב מעכה ילד שבר ואת תרחנה | 48 |
And Maacha the concubine of Caleb bore Saber, and Tharana.
| ותלד שעף אבי מדמנה את שוא אבי מכבנה ואבי גבעא ובת כלב עכסה | 49 |
And Saaph the father of Madmena beget Sue the father of Machbena, and the father of Gabaa. And the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.
| אלה היו בני כלב בן חור בכור אפרתה--שובל אבי קרית יערים | 50 |
These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur the firstborn of Ephrata, Sobal the father of Cariathiarim.
| שלמא אבי בית לחם חרף אבי בית גדר | 51 |
Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hariph the father of Bethgader.
| ויהיו בנים לשובל אבי קרית יערים הראה חצי המנחות | 52 |
And Sobal the father of Cariathiarim had sons: he that saw half of the places of rest.
| ומשפחות קרית יערים--היתרי והפותי והשמתי והמשרעי מאלה יצאו הצרעתי--והאשתאלי | 53 |
And of the kindred of Cariathiarim, the Jethrites, and Aphuthites, and Semathites, and Maserites. Of them came the Saraites, and Esthaolites.
| בני שלמא בית לחם ונטופתי עטרות בית יואב וחצי המנחתי הצרעי | 54 |
The sons of Salma, Bethlehem, and Netophathi, the crowns of the house of Joab, and half of the place of rest of Sarai.
| ומשפחות ספרים ישבו (ישבי) יעבץ תרעתים שמעתים שוכתים המה הקינים הבאים מחמת אבי בית רכב | 55 |
And the families of the scribes that dwell in Jabes, singing and making melody, and abiding in tents. These are the Cinites, who came of Calor (Chamath) father of the house of Rechab,
