1 A UWE ka mea e kipi ana, a me ka mea haumia, Ke kulanakauhale hookoikoi.
Woe to her that is filthie and polluted, to the robbing citie.
2 Aole ia i hoolohe i ka leo, aole hoi i ae aku i ke aoia mai; Aole hoi ia i paulele ia Iehova, Aole ia i hookokoke aku i kona Akua.
She heard not the voyce: she receiued not correction: she trusted not in the Lord: she drew not neere to her God.
3 O na'lii iloko ona, he poe liona uwo lakou; O na lunakanawai ona, he poe iliohae o ke ahiahi; Aole lakou e hookoe a hiki i ke kakahiaka.
Her princes within her are as roaring lyons: her iudges are as wolues in the euening, which leaue not the bones till the morow.
4 He poe haaheo na kaula ona, na kanaka hoopunipuni; Ua hoohaumia na kahuna ona i ke keenakapu, Ua haihai lakou i ke kanawai.
Her prophets are light, and wicked persons: her priests haue polluted the Sanctuarie: they haue wrested the Lawe.
5 Iwaenakonu o lakou o Iehova ka mea hoopono, Aole ia e hana i ka pono ole; E hoakaka mai ana ia i kona pono ia kakahiaka ae, ia kakahiaka ae, aole haule; Aka, o ka mea hana hewa, aole ia i hoomaopopo i ka hilahila,
The iust Lord is in the middes thereof: he will doe none iniquitie: euery morning doeth hee bring his iudgement to light, he faileth not: but the wicked will not learne to be ashamed.

I haue cut off the nations: their towres are desolate: I haue made their streetes waste, that none shall passe by: their cities are destroyed without man and without inhabitant.
7 Olelo iho la au, Ina oe e makau mai ia'u, a e ae mai i ke aoia, I hooki ole ia'i kona noho ana, e like me na mea a'ue olelo mua ai nona: Aka, ua ala lakou i ka wanaao, e hoohaumia i ka lakou hana a pau.
I said, Surely thou wilt feare me: thou wilt receiue instruction: so their dwelling shoulde not be destroyed howsoeuer I visited them, but they rose earely and corrupted all their workes.

Therefore wait ye vpon me, saith the Lord, vntill the day that I rise vp to the praye: for I am determined to gather the nations, and that I will assemble the kingdomes to powre vpon them mine indignation, euen all my fierce wrath: for all the earth shall be deuoured with the fire of my ielousie.

Surely then will I turne to the people a pure language, that they may all call vpon the Name of the Lord, to serue him with one cosent.
10 Mai na aina mai o ka muliwai o Aitiopa, E lawe mai ana ko'u poe haipule, o ke kaikamahine o ko'u poe hele liilii, i alana na'u.
From beyonde the riuers of Ethiopia, the daughter of my dispersed, praying vnto me, shall bring me an offering.

In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy workes, wherein thou hast transgressed against mee: for then I will take away out of the middes of thee them that reioyce of thy pride, and thou shalt no more be proude of mine holy Mountaine.

Then will I leaue in the middes of thee an humble and poore people: and they shall trust in the Name of the Lord.
13 Aole e hana ino ke koena o ka Iseraela, Aole hoi e olelo hoopunipuni lakou; Aole no hoi e loaa ka elelo wahahee iloko o ko lakou waha; Aka, e ai auanei iakou, a e moe iho, aole kekahi mea e hooweliweli ana ia lakou.
The remnant of Israel shall do none iniquitie, nor speake lies: neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shalbe fed, and lie downe, and none shall make them afraide.
14 E mele oe, e ke kaikamahine o Ziona, E hooho aku, e ka Iseraela, e olioli, E hauoli hoi me kou naau a pau, e ke kaikamahine o Ierusalema,
Reioyce, O daughter Zion: be ye ioyfull, O Israel: be glad and reioyce with all thine heart, O daughter Ierusalem.
15 Ua lawe aku la o Iehova i kou hoohewaia ana, Ua kipaku aku la i kou poe enemi; O Iehova ke alii o ka Iseraela, oia no iwaena ou; Aole hoi oe e ike hou i ka hewa.
The Lord hath taken away thy iudgements: hee hath cast out thine enemie: the King of Israel, euen the Lord is in the middes of thee: thou shalt see no more euill.
16 Ia la la, e oleloia auanei ia Ierusalema, Mai makau oe: E Ziona, Mai hoonawaliwali i kou mau lima.
In that day it shalbe said to Ierusalem, Feare thou not, O Zion: let not thine handes be faint.
17 O Iehova o kou Akua iwaena ou, He mana kona, e hoola mai ana oia; E olioli auanei oia nou me ka hauoli, E noho malie oia i kona aloha, E hauoli oia nou me ka mele ana.
The Lord thy God in the middes of thee is mightie: hee will saue, hee will reioyce ouer thee with ioye: he will quiet himselfe in his loue: he will reioyce ouer thee with ioy.
18 E houluulu ana au i ka poe e u ana no kau mau ahaaina, i lilo ai lakou nou, Ka poe kaumaha i ka hoinoia nona.
After a certaine time will I gather the afflicted that were of thee, and them that bare the reproch for it.
19 Aia hoi, e hoauhee auanei au i ka poe a pau i hoopilikia ia oe ia manawa; A e malama no au i ka mea oopa, a e hoihoi mai ana no au I ka mea i kipakuia'ku; A e haawi au ia lakou i ka hoomaikaiia, a me ka inoa kaulana, Ma na aina a pau i hoohilahilaia'i lakou.
Beholde, at that time I will bruise all that afflict thee, and I will saue her that halteth, and gather her that was cast out, and I will get them praise and fame in all the landes of their shame.
20 Ia manawa no na'u oukou e alakai mai, I ka manawa a'u e houluulu ai ia oukou: A e hookaulana au i ko oukou inoa no ka hoomaikaiia iwaena o na kanaka a pau o ka honua, I kuu wa e hoihoi mai ai i ko oukou pio ana, imua o ko oukou mau maka, wahi a Iehova.
At that time wil I bring you againe, and then wil I gather you: for I wil giue you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turne backe your captiuitie before your eyes, saith the Lord.
