< Halelu 94 >

1 E KE Akua nona ka hoopai ana, e Iehova; E ke Akua nona ka hoopai ana, e hoomalamalama mai.
God of vengeance—YHWH! God of vengeance, shine forth.
2 E ku mai hoi oe, e ka lunakanawai o ka honua; E hoopai oe i ka poe hookiekie.
Be lifted up, judging the earth, Send back a repayment on the proud.
3 Pehea la ka loihi, e Iehova, o ka poe hewa? Pehea la ka loihi o ka akola ana mai o ka poe hewa?
Until when do the wicked, O YHWH—Until when do the wicked exult?
4 Pane mai no lakou me ka olelo iho i na mea howa, Kaena wale ka poe hana hewa a pau.
They utter—they speak arrogance, All working iniquity boast [about] themselves.
5 Ua paopao mai no lakou i kou poo kanaka, e Iehova. A ua hookaumaha hoi i kou hooilina.
Your people, O YHWH, they bruise, And they afflict Your inheritance.
6 Pepehi no lakou i ka wahinekanemake, a me ka malihini, A ulupa hoi i na keiki makua ole.
They slay widow and sojourner, And they murder fatherless ones.
7 Olelo no hoi lakou, Aole e ike mai o Iehova, Aole e manao mai ke Akua o Iakoba.
And they say, “YAH does not see, And the God of Jacob does not consider.”
8 E hoomaopopo oukou, e ka poe manao ole iwaena o na kanaka; O oukou hoi ka poe naaupo, Pehea la ka loihi a lilo oukou i poe naauao?
Consider, you brutish among the people, And you foolish, when do you act wisely?
9 O ka mea i hana mai i ka pepeiao, Aole anei e lohe mai ia? O ka mea i hooponopono i ka maka, Aole anei oia e ike mai?
He who plants the ear, does He not hear? He who forms the eye, does He not see?
10 O ka mea hahau i ko na aina e, Aole auei oia e hoopai mai? O ka mea hoi i ao mai i kanaka i ka ike?
He who is instructing nations, does He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge [is] YHWH.
11 Ua ike mai no o Iehova i ka manao o kanaka, He lapuwale ia.
He knows the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
12 Pomaikai ke kanaka au e ao mai ai, e Iehova, A hoonaauao hoi ma kou kanawai;
O the blessedness of the man Whom You instruct, O YAH, And teach him out of Your law,
13 I hoomaha'i oe ia ia mai na la o ka ino, A eliia ka lua no ka poe hewa.
To give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 Aole haalele o Iehova i kona poe kanaka, Aole hoi e kuu wale aku i kona hooilina iho.
For YHWH does not leave His people, And does not forsake His inheritance.
15 E hiki hou mai no ka hooponopono ana ma ka pololei; A malaila no e hahai aku ai ka poe a pau i pono ma ka naau.
For judgment turns back to righteousness, And after it all the upright of heart.
16 Owai la ka mea e ala mai no'u e ku e i ka poe hewa? Owai hoi ka mea e ku mai iluna nou, e ku e i ka poe lawehala?
Who rises up for me with evildoers? Who stations himself for me with workers of iniquity?
17 Ina aole o Iehova i kokua mai ia'u, Ina ua kokoke e noho kuu uhane ma kahi ekemu ole.
Unless YHWH [were] a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.
18 Ia'u i olelo ai, Ua pahee ko'u wawae. Alaila, na kou lokomaikai, e Iehova, i hooikaika ia'u.
If I have said, “My foot has slipped,” Your kindness, O YHWH, supports me.
19 I ka nui loa o ko'u mau manao iloko o'u, O kou aloha ka mea e hoohauoli ai i ko'u uhane.
In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
20 E kukakuka pa anei ka nohoalii o ka hewa me oe? Ka mea hoi i hana i ke kolohe ma ke kanawai?
Is a throne of mischief joined [with] You? A framer of perverseness by statute?
21 Alu mai la lakou i ka uhane o ka poe pono, A hoohewa lakou i ke koko hala ole.
They decree against the soul of the righteous, And declare innocent blood wicked.
22 O Iehova no ko'u wahi kiekie, a me ko'u Akua, O ko'u pohaku puuhonua hoi.
And YHWH is for a high place to me, And my God [is] for a rock—my refuge,
23 E hoopai mai oia i ko lakou hewa maluna o lakou, A e hooki hoi oia ia lakou maloko o ko lakou hewa; Na Iehova, ko kakou Akua, e hooki ia lakou.
And He turns back their iniquity on them, And in their wickedness cuts them off; Our God YHWH cuts them off!
