1 E KE Akua e, mai noho wale oe; Mai hookuli iho, aole hoi e noho leo ole, e ke Akua.
God, do not continue to be silent! Do not be quiet and say nothing,
2 No ka mea, aia hoi, ua hoohaunaelo kou poe enemi, A o ka poe inaina aku ia oe, ua hookiekie lakou i ke poo.
because your enemies are rioting against you; those who hate you are rebelling against you!
3 Ua imi maalea lakou e ku e i kou poe kanaka, Ua kukakuka lakou e ku e i ka poe au i huna'i.
They are secretly planning to do things to harm [us], your people; they are (conspiring together against/planning how to defeat) the people whom you protect.
4 I ae la lakou, E hele mai, e hooki kakou i ko lakou noho aupuni ana, I hoomanao hou ole ia ka inoa o ka Iseraela.
They say, “Come, we must destroy their nation, with the result that no one will remember that Israel ever existed!”
5 No ka mea, ua kukakuka lokahi pu lakou; Ua hana no lakou i berita ku e ia oe.
They have agreed on [what they want to do to destroy Israel], and they have formed an alliance against you.
6 O ko ka halelewa o Edoma, a me ko Isemaela; O ko Moaba, a me ko Hagara;
[The people who have done that are] the people of Edom [region], the descendants of Ishmael [who live on the east side of the Jordan River], the Moab [people-group], the descendants of Hagar [who also live on the east side of the Jordan River],
7 O ko Gebela, a me ko Amona, a me ko Amaleka; O ko Pilisetia pu, a me ka poe e noho ma Turo;
Gebal [people-group], the Ammon [people-group], the Amalek [people-group], the Philistia [people-group], and the people of Tyre [city].
8 Ua hui pu hoi ko Asuria me lakou; O lakou ka i hooikaika i na moopuna a Lota. (Sila)
[The people of] have joined them; they are strong allies of the [Moab and Ammon people-groups, who are] descendants of [Abraham’s nephew] Lot.
9 E hana aku oe ia lakou, e like me ko Midiana; E like hoi me Sisera, a me Iabina, Ma ke kahawai o Kisona:
[God], do to those people things like you did to the Midian [people-group], like [you did] to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon River.
10 Na mea i lukuia ma Enedora, A lilo lakou i kipulu no ka aina.
You destroyed them at Endor [town], and their corpses [lay on] the ground and decayed.
11 E hoohalike oe i ko lakou poe koikoi me Oreba, a me Zeeba; I ko lakou poe alii hoi, me Zeba a me Zalemuna:
Do to them things like you did to [Kings] Oreb and Zeeb; defeat their leaders like you defeated Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Na mea i olelo, E lawe kakou no kakou iho Na wahi noho o ke Akua.
who said, “We will take for ourselves the land that [the Israelis say] belongs to God!”
13 E ko'u Akua e, e hoohalike oe ia lakou me ka opala, Me ke oka palaoa hoi imua o ka makani.
My God, cause them [to disappear quickly] like whirling dust, like chaff that the wind blows away!
14 E like me ke ahi i hoopau i na ululaau, A me ka lapalapa ahi i hoa i na kuahiwi;
Like a fire completely burns a forest and like flames burn in the mountains,
15 Pela oe e hahai ia lakou i kou ino, A e hooweliweli ia lakou i kou puahiohio.
expel them by sending storms; cause them to be terrified by your big storms/hurricanes!
16 E hoopiha oe i ko lakou maka i ka hilahila; Alaila, e imi lakou i kou inoa, e Iehova.
Cause them [SYN] to be very ashamed in order that they will admit that you are very powerful.
17 E hoohilahilaia mai lakou, me ka hoopilikia mau loa ia; E hoohilahilaia mai lakou, a make hoi:
Cause them to be forever disgraced [because of being defeated], and cause them to die while they are still disgraced.
18 I ike lakou, o oe, ka mea wale no nona ka inoa o IEHOVA; O oe no ka Mea kiekie loa maluna o ka honua a pau.
Cause them to know that you, whose name is Yahweh, are the supreme ruler over everything on the earth.
