< Halelu 75 >

1 KE hoomaikai aku nei makou ia oe, e ke Akua, Ke hoomaikai aku nei makou; No ka mea, o ke kokoke ana mai o kou inoa, Ua hoakakaia e kau mau hana kupanaha.
We give thanks to you; our God, we thank you. You are close to us, and we proclaim to others the wonderful things that you have done [for us].
2 Aia loaa ia'u ke anaina, Alaila, e hooponopono au ma ka pololei.
[You have said], “I have appointed a time when I will judge people, and I will judge [everyone] fairly.
3 Hehee iho la ka honua me ko ka honua a pau: Na'u no i hookupaa i kona mau kia. (Sila)
When the earth shakes and all the creatures on the earth tremble, I am the one who will (keep its foundations steady/prevent it from being destroyed).
4 I aku la au i ka poe naaupo, Mai hana naaupo oukou; A i ka poe aia, Mai hookiekie i ka pepeiaohao.
I say to people who (boast/talk proudly about themselves), ‘Stop bragging!’ and I say to wicked people, ‘Do not proudly [do things to] show how great you are [IDM]!
5 Mai hookiekie i ko oukou mau pepeiaohao iluna: Mai olelo me ka a-i oolea;
Do not be arrogant, and do not speak so boastfully!’”
6 No ka mea, aole mai ka hikina, aole hoi mai ke komohana, Aole hoi mai ke kukuluhema, ka hoomaikaiia.
The one who judges people does not come from the east or from the west, and he does not come from the desert.
7 No ka mea, o ke Akua ka Lunakanawai: Ua hoohaahaa oia i kekahi, a ua hookiekie hoi i kekahi.
God is the one who judges people; he says that some have sinned and must be punished, and that others have not done what is wrong.
8 No ka mea, he kiaha ka iloko o ka lima o Iehova, He ulaula ka waina, a ua piha i ka mea anoninoniia; Ke ninini nei oia i koloko; Aka, o kona okaoka, oia ka ka poe hewa a pau o ka honua e kowi ai, a e inu.
[It is as though] Yahweh holds a cup in his hand; it is filled with wine that [has spices] mixed in it [to cause those who drink it to become more drunk]; and when Yahweh pours it out, he will force all the wicked people to drink it; they will drink every drop of it, [which means that he will give them all the punishment that they deserve].
9 Aka, e hai mau loa aku no wau; E hemeni aku au i ke Akua o Iakoba.
But [as for me], I will never stop saying what the God whom Jacob [worshiped has done]; I will never quit singing to praise him.
10 O na pepeiaohao a pau o ka poe hewa ka'u e oki aku ai: Aka, e hookiekieia'e na pepeiaohao o ka mea pono.
He will destroy the power [IDM] of wicked people, but he will cause righteous people to become more powerful.
