< Halelu 71 >
1 O OE, e Iehova, ka'u mea e hilinai ai: Aole au e hoohokaia mai.
A Psalm of David. Of the sons of Jonadab and the former captives. In you, O Lord, I have hoped; do not let me be brought to ruin forever.
2 E hoola mai ia'u, ma kou pono, E hoopakele hoi oe ia'u: E haliu mai i kou pepeiao ia'u a e hoola ia'u.
Free me by your justice, and rescue me. Incline your ear to me, and save me.
3 E lilo mai oe i pohaku e noho ai no'u, Kahi e holo mau ai au; Ua kauoha ae nei oe e hoola ia'u; No ka mea, o oe no ko'u pohaku me ko'u pakaua.
Be a God of protection and a place of strength for me, so that you may accomplish my salvation. For you are my firmament and my refuge.
4 E ko'u Akua, e hoopakele mai oe ia'u i ka lima o ka poe aia, Mai loko aku o ka poho lima o ka mea hewa aloha ole.
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, and from the hand of the unjust and those who act against the law.
5 No ka mea, o oe no ko'u mea e manaolana ai, e ka Haku; E Iehova, ka mea au i hilinai ai, mai ko'u wa opiopio.
For you, O Lord, are my patience: my hope from my youth, O Lord.
6 Nau no wau i hookupaa, mai ka opu mai; O oe no ka i lawe ia'u mai loko mai o na naau o ko'u makuwahine: Nou mau aku no hoi ko'u hoolea ana.
In you, I have been confirmed from conception. From my mother’s womb, you are my protector. In you, I will sing forever.
7 Me he mea kupanaha la au i ka lehulehu; Aka, o oe ko'u wahi paa e malu ai.
I have become to many as if I were a portent, but you are a strong helper.
8 E piha ko'u waha i ka hoolea nou, A me kou nani a po ka la.
Let my mouth be filled with praise, so that I may sing your glory, your greatness all day long.
9 Mai kiola ae oe ia'u i ka wa elemakule; Aole hoi e haalele mai ia'u i ka pau ana o ko'u ikaika.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age. Do not abandon me when my strength will fail.
10 No ka mea, ke olelo ku e mai nei ko'u poe enemi ia'u; A ua ohumu pu ka poe hoohalua no kuu uhane,
For my enemies have spoken against me. And those who watched for my soul have taken counsel as one,
11 I mai la, Ua haalele mai ke Akua ia ia: E alualu oukou ia ia, a e hopu ia ia; No ka mea, aohe mea hoola.
saying: “God has abandoned him. Pursue and overtake him. For there is no one to rescue him.”
12 E ke Akua, mai hoomamao aku ia'u; E ko'u Akua, e wikiwiki mai e kokua ia'u.
O God, do not be far from me. O my God, provide for my assistance.
13 E hoohilahilaia, a e pau e hoi ka poe ku e mai i kuu uhane; E uhiia me ka hoinoia a me ka hoahewaia ka poe imi i hewa no'u.
May they be confounded, and may they fail, who drag down my soul. Let them be covered with confusion and shame, who seek evils for me.
14 Aka, e lana mau ko'u naau, A e hoomahuahua'e au i ko'u hoolea ana ia oe.
But I will always have hope. And I will add more to all your praise.
15 E hoike aku ko'u waha i kou pono, a me kou ola a po ka la: No ka mea, aole au i ike i ko laila helu'na.
My mouth will announce your justice, your salvation all day long. For I have not known letters.
16 E hele no wau ma ka ikaika o ka Haku Iehova; E hoolea au i kou pono, o kou wale no.
I will enter into the powers of the Lord. I will be mindful of your justice alone, O Lord.
17 E ke Akua, ua ao mai oe ia'u mai ko'u wa opiopio: A ua hai aku au i kau mau hana kupanaha a hiki i keia wa.
You have taught me from my youth, O God. And so I will declare your wonders continuously,
18 Ano hoi i ko'u elemakule ana me ka poohina, E ke Akua, mai haalele mai ia'u; A hoike e aku au i kou ikaika i keia hanauna, A i kou mana hoi, i na mea a pau e hiki mai ana.
even in old age and with grey hairs. Do not abandon me, O God, while I announce your arm to every future generation: your power
19 He kiekie loa kou pono, e ke Akua, Ka mea i hana i na mea nui; E ke Akua, owai la ka mea like me oe?
and your justice, O God, even to the highest great things that you have done. O God, who is like you?
20 E ka mea i hoike iho nei ia'u i ka pilikia ana he nui wale, E hooikaika hou mai no oe ia'u, A e hoopuka ia'u mailoko o na wahi hohonu o ka honua.
How great is the tribulation that you have revealed to me: very great and evil. And so, turning back, you have brought me to life, and you have led me back again from the abyss of the earth.
21 E hoomahuahua ae oe i ko'u nui ana, A e hooluolu mai ia'u ma kela aoao, ma keia aoao.
You have multiplied your magnificence. And so, turning back to me, you have consoled me.
22 E hula aku au ia oe me ka violaumi, I kou oiaio hoi, e ko'u Akua; E himeni aku hoi au ia oe me ka lira, E ka mea hoano o ka Iseraela.
Therefore, I will confess your truth to you, with the instruments of the Psalter. O God, I will sing psalms to you with stringed instruments, O Holy One of Israel.
23 E hauoli nui ko'u mau lehelehe i ko'u oli ana ia oe; A me ko'u uhane au i hoola mai nei.
My lips will exult, when I sing to you, and also my soul, which you have redeemed.
24 Eia hoi, e kamailio aku kuu alelo i kou pono a po ka la; No ka mea, ua hoka, ua hoohilahilaia ka poe imi i hewa no'u.
And even my tongue will meditate on your justice all day long, when those who seek evils for me have been confounded and set in awe.
