< Halelu 31 >
1 KE hilinai aku nei au ia oe, e Iehova, aole loa au o hoka; Ma kou pono e hoola mai oe ia'u.
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. In thee, O Yahweh, have I sought refuge, Let me not be ashamed to times age-abiding, In thy righteousness, deliver me:
2 E haliu mai kou pepeiao ia'u, e hoola koke mai ia'u; E lilo oe i pohaku paa no'u, i hale e malu ai e ola'i au.
Incline unto me, thine ear, Speedily rescue me, —Become to me a Rock of refuge, a Place of security, For saving me.
3 No ka mea, o oe no ko'u pohaku a me kuu pakaua; Nolaila, no kou inoa e alakai oe ia'u, a e malama mai ia'u.
Because, my mountain crag and my stronghold, thou art, Therefore, for the sake of thine own Name, wilt thou lead me and guide me?
4 E kaili oe ia'u mailoko o ka upena a lakou i waiho malu ai no'u; No ka mea, o oe no ko'u ikaika.
Wilt thou bring me forth, out of the net which they have hidden for me? For, thou, art my refuge.
5 Ke haawi aku nei au i kuu uhane iloko o kou lima; Ua hoopakele mai oe ia'u, e Iehova ke Akua oiaio.
Into thy hand, do I commit my spirit—Thou hast ransomed me, O Yahweh, GOD most faithful.
6 Ua hoowahawaha au i ka poe manao ma na mea lapuwale hoopunipuni; Aka, ke hilinai aku nei au ia Iehova.
I hate such as give heed to false vanities, I, then, in Yahweh, have set my hope.
7 E olioli au, a e hauoli hoi i kou aloha; No ka mea, ua manao mai oe i kuu kaumaha; Ua ike hoi oe i ko'u uhane iloko o ka popilikia;
I will indeed exult and rejoice, in thy lovingkindness, —In that thou hast looked upon my humiliation, thou hast taken note that in distresses was my life;
8 Aole oe i hoopaa ia'u iloko o ka lima o ka enemi; Ua hooku oe i kuu mau wawae ma kahi akea.
And hast not shut me up in the hand of the foe, Thou hast given standing, in a roomy place, unto my feet.
9 E aloha mai oe ia'u, e Iehova, no ka mea, ua pilikia au: Ua pau e kuu maka i ke kaumaha, a me kuu uhane a me kuu opu.
Show me favour, O Yahweh, for in distress am I, —Wasted with vexation, is mine eye—my soul and my body;
10 No ka mea, ua pau kuu ola nei i ke kaumaha, A me kuu mau makahiki i ka u ana: Ua pau e kuu ikaika no kuu hewa, Ua pauhia hoi ko'u mau iwi.
For, consumed with sorrow, is my life, and my years with sighing, —My strength hath staggered with my humiliation, and, my bones, are without marrow.
11 Lilo aku la au i mea hoinoia iwaena o ko'u poe enemi a pau, He mea hoino nui ia iwaena o ko'u mau hoauoho, He mea weliweli no hoi no ko'u mau hoalauna: O ka poe ike mai ia'u mawaho, holo aka lakou mai o'u aku nei.
By reason of all mine adversaries, have I become a reproach. Even to my neighbours, altogether, and a dread to mine acquaintance, —They who have seen me abroad, have fled from me:
12 Ua poina hoi au me he kanaka make la i nalo iho: Ua like no hoi au me ka ipu nahaha.
I have been forgotten, like one dead—out of mind, I have been as a missing vessel.
13 No ka mea, ua lohe no au i ka hoino ana o na mea he nui: He makau no ma na aoao a puni; I ka wa i ohumu ku e mai ai lakou ia'u, Kukakuka lakou e kaili wale aku i kuu ola,
For I have heard the whispering of many—A terror round about! When they have sat in conclave together against me, to take away my life, have they intrigued.
14 Aka, i hilinai aku au ia oe, e Iehova; I aku la au, o oe no ko'u Akua.
I, therefore. in thee, have put my trust, O Yahweh, I have said, My God, thou art!
15 Aia no i kou lima kuu mau manawa; E hoopakele oe ia'u i ka lima o ko'u poe enemi, A me ka poe alualu hewa mai ia'u.
In thy hand, are my times, Rescue me from the hand of my foes and from my pursuers!
16 E hoomalamalama mai kou maka i kau kauwa nei: E hoola mai oe ia'u no ko'u aloha.
Cause thy face to shine upon thy servant, Save me in thy lovingkindness.
17 E Iehova, aole au e hoka, No ka mea, ua kahea aku au ia oe: E hoka ka poe hewa, A e waiho leo ole lakou iloko o ka luakupapau. (Sheol )
O Yahweh! let me not be ashamed, For I have called upon thee, Let the lawless be ashamed, Go down in silence to hades! (Sheol )
18 E hoopaaia na lehelehe hoopunipuni; Na mea olelo hookano me ka haakei, I na mea kaumaha i ku e i ka mea pono.
Let false lips be made dumb, —which are speaking—against a righteous one—arrogantly, with pride and contempt.
19 Nani ka mea maikai au i hoahu ai no ka poe weliweli ia oe; Au i hana'i hoi no ka poe hilinai ia oe imua o na keiki a kanaka!
How great is thy goodness, which thou hast hidden away for them who revere thee, —Thou hast wrought for them who seek refuge in thee, in sight of the sons of men.
20 E huna oe ia lakou ma kahi malu o kou alo mai ka ohumu ana o kanaka; E malama malu oe ia lakou maloko o ka halelewa mai ka paio ana o na elelo.
Thou wilt conceal them, in the secrecy of thine own presence, from the conspiracies of men, —Thou wilt hide them in a pavilion, from the strife of tongues.
21 E hoomaikaiia'ku o Iehova: No ka mea, ua hookupanaha oia i kona aloha ia'u iloko o ke kulanakauhale paa.
Blessed be Yahweh, for he hath made wonderful his lovingkindness for me, in a fortified city.
22 A i kuu wikiwiki, i iho la an, Ua okiia'e no au mai mua'e o kou mau maka; Aka, ua hoolohe mai no hoi oe i ka leo o ka'u pule ana, I kuu kahea ana'ku ia oe.
But, I, had said in mine alarm, I am cut off from before thine eyes, —But, indeed, thou didst hear the voice of my supplication, when I cried for help unto thee.
23 E aloha aku ia Iehova, e kona poe haipule a pau; No ka mea, ua malama mai o Iehova i ka poe hoopono, A ua uku nui mai no ia i ka mea hana hookano.
Love Yahweh, all ye his men of lovingkindness, —Faithfulness, doth Yahweh observe, but repayeth abundantly him that worketh proudly.
24 E hoolana oukou, a e hooikaika mai oia i ko oukou naau, E ka poe a pau e hilinai ana ia Iehova.
Be strong, and let your heart be bold, all ye who are waiting for Yahweh.
