1 E HOOPONO mai oe ia'u, e Iehova, no ka mea, ua hele au me ko'u pono: Ua hilinai au ia Iehova, aole au e pahee.
Yahweh, show that I (am innocent/have not done what is wrong). I always do what is right; I have trusted in you and never doubted [that you would help me].
2 E huli oe ia'u, e Iehova, a e hoike ia'u; E hoao mai oe i kuu puupaa a me kuu naau.
Yahweh, examine what I have done and test me; thoroughly evaluate what I think [IDM].
3 No ka mea, imua o ko'u mau maka kou lokomaikai; A ma kau olelo oiaio i hele ai au.
I never forget that you faithfully love me, I conduct my life according to your truth.
4 Aole au i noho pu me ka poe hookano; Aole hoi e komo pu me ka poe hookamani wale.
I do not spend my time with liars and I stay away from hypocrites.

I do not like to be with evil people, and I avoid wicked people.

Yahweh, I wash my hands to show that I (am innocent/have not done what was wrong). As I join with others marching around your altar,
7 E hoike aku au me ka leo hoomaikai, A e hai aku hoi i kau mau hana kupaianaha a pau.
we sing songs to thank you, and we tell others the wonderful things that you [have done].
8 E Iehova, ua makemake au i ka noho ana o kou hale, A me ka wahi e noho ai kou nani.
Yahweh, I love [to be in] the temple where you live, in the place where your glory appears.
9 Mai houluulu oe i ko'u uhane me ka poe hewa; Aole hoi i kuu ola me na kanaka koko:
Do not get rid of me like you get rid of sinners; do not cause me to die like you cause those who murder [MTY] people to die,
10 Maloko o ko lakou mau lima ke kolohe; A ua piha i na kipe ko lakou mau lima akau.
and people who [SYN] are ready to do wicked things and people who are always taking bribes.
11 A owau nei la, e hele au me kuu pono; E hoola mai oe ia'u, a e aloha mai ia'u.
But as for me, I always try to do what is right. So be kind to me and rescue me.
12 Ke ku nei kuu wawae ma kahi maniania; Maloko o na anaina e hoomaikai aku ai au ia Iehova.
I stand in places where I am safe, and when [all your people] gather together, I praise you.
