1 E IEHOVA, owai ka mea o noho iloko o kou halelewa? Owai hoi ka mea e noho ma kou mauna hoano?
A psalm of David. Lord, who can be guest in your tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?
2 O ka mea i hele ma ka pololei a i hana ma ka pono; A i olelo hoi ma ka oiaio iloko o kona naau:
The person whose walk is blameless, whose conduct is right, whose words are true and sincere;
3 Aole i aki me kona alelo, aole hoi i hana hewa i kona hoapili, Aole hoi i lawe i ka mea e hoinoia'i kona hoalauna.
on whose tongue there sits no slander, who will not harm a friend,
4 A imua o kona maka i hoowahawahaia'i ke kanaka ino; Aka, ua mahalo no oia i ka poe e makau ia Iehova; A hoohiki no kona pono iho aole nae i lole hou ae:
nor cruelly insult a neighbor, who regards with contempt those rejected by God; but honors those who obey the Lord, who keeps an oath, whatever the cost,
5 Aole i ho aku i kana moni no ka uku hoopanee; Aole hoi i lawe i ke kipe i hewa'i ka mea pono. O ka mea i hana ia mau mea, aole loa oia e kulanalana.
whose money is lent without interest, and never takes a bribe to hurt the innocent. The person who does these things will always stand firm.
