Who? has he gone up heaven - and has he come down? who? has he gathered [the] wind - in hands his who? has he wrapped [the] waters - in cloak who? has he set up all [the] ends of [the] earth what? [is] name his and what? [is] [the] name of son his for you know.

A generation father its it curses and mother its not it blesses.

A generation [is] pure in own eyes its and from excrement its not it has been washed.
13 O kekahi hanauna, hookano loa na maka o lakou! Hookiekie hoi na lihilihi o lakou.
A generation how! they are raised eyes its and eyelids its they are lifted up.
14 O kekahi hanauna, he mau pahikaua ko lakou niho, He mau pahi hoi ko lakou mau kui. E ai ana i ka poe ilihune mai ka honua aku, A o ka poe nele hoi iwaena o na kanaka.
A generation - [are] swords teeth its and [are] knives jaw bones its to devour afflicted [people] from [the] earth and needy [people] from humankind.

An eye - [which] it mocks a father so it may despise obedience of a mother they will pluck out it [the] ravens of [the] wadi and they will eat it [the] young of an eagle.

Three [things] they they are [too] wonderful for me (and four [things] *Q(k)*) not I know them.

[the] way of The eagle - in the heavens [the] way of a snake on a rock [the] way of a ship in [the] heart of [the] sea and [the] way of a man with a young woman.
20 Peneia ka aoao o ka wahine hookamakama, Ai iho la oia a holoi i kona nuku, A olelo ae, Aole au i hana hewa.
[is] thus - [the] way of A woman adulterous she eats and she wipes clean mouth her and she says not I have done wickedness.
21 Ekolu mau mea e haunaele ai ka honua, Eha hoi e hiki ole ai ke hoomanawanui:
Under three [things] it quakes [the] earth and under four [things] not it is able to bear up.
22 O ke kauwa ke lilo i alii; O ka mea lapuwale ke maona i ka ai;
Under a slave for he will become king and a fool for he will be satisfied food.
23 O ka wahine huhu wale ke mareia oia; A o ke kauwawahine he hooilina o kona hakuwahine.
Under a hated [woman] for she will be married and a female servant for she will dispossess mistress her.
24 Eha mau mea liilii loa ma ka honua nei, A ua akamai loa no nae:
Four [things] they [are] small [things] of [the] earth and they [are] wise [things] made wise.
25 O ka poe anonanona, he poe ikaika ole lakou, Hoomakaukau no nae i ke kau i ka lakou ai;
The ants [are] a people not strong and they prepared in the summer food their.
26 O ka poe rabita, he poe nawaliwali lakou, Ma na pohaku hoi i hana'i i ko lakou mau hale;
Rock badgers [are] a people not mighty and they made in the rock[s] home their.
27 O ka poe uhini, aole o lakou alii, Hele papa no hoi lakou.
A king not [belongs] to the locust and it went out dividing all of it.
28 O ka moo, lalau no oia me kona mau lima, Aia no ia ma na hale hanohano o ke alii.
A lizard in [two] hands you will grasp and it [is] in [the] palaces of a king.
29 Ekolu mau mea, i maikai ka hele ana, Eha hoi i maikai ke hele ae.
Three [things] they [are] doing well of step and four [things] [are] doing well to walk.
30 O ka liona ka mea ikaika loa o na holoholona, Aole hoi oia e huli ae mai ke alo aku o lakou a pau;
A lion [is] mighty among the animal[s] and not it turns back from before anything.
31 O ka ilio hahai, a o ke kao kane hoi, A o ke alii, hiki ole ke ku e ia ia.
A rooster of loins or a male goat and a king a band of soldiers with him.
32 Ina he lapuwale oe i kou hookiekie ana, Ina paha he manao ino kou, e kau ana ka lima ma ka waha.
If you have been foolish by exalting yourself and if you have plotted hand to a mouth.
33 Ma ka hooluliluli ana i ka waiu e puka mai ai ka bata, Ma ka uwi ana i ka ihu e kahe mai ai ke koko; A ma ka hooioi ana i ka huhu e puka mai ai hoi ka hakaka.
For squeezing of milk it brings forth butter and squeezing of a nose it brings forth blood and squeezing of anger it brings forth strife.
