< Na Helu 12 >

1 O HUMU ae la o Miriama laua o Aarona i ke ku e ia Mose, no ka wahine Aitiopa ana i lawe ai: no ka mea, ua lawe in i wahine no Aitiopa nana.
Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married.
They said, “Has Yahweh spoken only with Moses? Has he not spoken also with us?” Now Yahweh heard what they said.
3 (A o ua kanaka la o Mose, ua oi aku kona akahai mamua o ko na kanaka a pau maluna o ka honua.)
Now the man Moses was very humble, humbler than anyone else on earth.
4 Olelo koke mai la o Iehova ia Mose me Aarona a me Miriama, E hele mai oukou a ekolu i ka halelewa anaina. A hele aku la lakou a ekolu.
Right away Yahweh spoke to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam: “Come out, you three, to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went out.
Then Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud. He stood at the entrance to the tent and called Aaron and Miriam. They both came forward.
Yahweh said, “Now listen to my words. When a prophet of mine is with you, I will reveal myself to him in visions and speak to him in dreams.
7 Aole nae pela ka'u kauwa o Mose, ka mea malama pono ma ko'u hale a pau.
My servant Moses is not like that. He is faithful in all my house.
8 E olelo aku ana au me ia he waha no he waha, ma ka mea akaka, aole ma ka olelonane: a e ike mai no ia i ke aka o Iehova: no ke aha la hoi i makau ole ai olua i ka ohumu aku i kuu kauwa ia Mose?
I speak to Moses directly, not with visions or riddles. He sees my form. So why are you unafraid to speak against my servant, against Moses?”
Yahweh's anger burned against them, and then he left them.
10 A hoi hou aku la ke ao maluna aku o ka halelewa; aia hoi, ua lepers o Miriama me he hau la: nana aku la o Aarona ia Miriama, aia hoi, ua lepera ia.
The cloud rose from over the tent, and Miriam was suddenly leprous—she was as white as snow. When Aaron turned toward Miriam, he saw that she had leprosy.
11 I aku la o Aarona ia Mose, Auwe! e kuu haku, ke nonoi aku nei au ia oe, mai kau mai oe i keia hewa maluna o maua, i kahi a maua i hana lapuwale ai, a ua hana hewa malaila.
Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my master, please do not hold this sin against us. We have spoken foolishly, and we have sinned.
12 Mai waiho wale ia ia me he mea make la, me he mea la i pala kona io i ka wa o kona puka ana mai iwaho o ka opu o kona makuwahine.
Please do not let her be like a dead newborn whose flesh is half consumed when it emerges from its mother's womb.”
13 Kahea aku la o Mose ia Iehova, i aku la, E ke Akua e, ke noi aku nei au ia oe, e hoola mai oe ia ia.
So Moses called out to Yahweh. He said, “Please heal her, God, please.”
14 I mai la o Iehova ia Mose, Ina paha i kuha wale aku kona makuakane i kona maka, aole anei i hoohilahilaia oia i na la ehiku?
Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face, she would be disgraced for seven days. Shut her outside the camp for seven days. After that bring her in again.”
15 A ua kipakuia o Miriama iwaho o kahi hoomoana i na la ehiku; aole ka poe kanaka i hele, a hoi hou mai o Miriama maloko.
So Miriam was shut outside the camp for seven days. The people did not journey until she had returned to the camp.
After that, the people journeyed from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
