Luka 13
1 MALAILA hoi ia manawa kekahi i hai aku ia ia no ka poe o Galilaia, o ko lakou koko i hui pu ia e Pilato me ko lakou mau mohai.
And at that time, some came and told him of those Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

And Jesus replied, and said to them: Suppose ye, that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because this occurred to them?

No. And I say to you, That all of you also, unless ye repent, will likewise perish.
4 A o kela poe kanaka hoi he umikumamawalu i hioloia'i e ka hale kiai i Siloama i make ni lakou, ua manao anei oukou ua oi aku ko lakou hewa mamua o ko na kanaka a pau e noho ana ma Ierusalema?
Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, suppose ye, that they were sinners beyond all the men inhabiting Jerusalem?
5 Re olelo aku nei au ia oukou, Aole; aka, i mihi ole oukou, e pau pu hoi oukou a pau i ka make.
No. And I say to you, That except ye resent, ye like them will all of you perish.

And he spoke this similitude: A man had a fig-tree that was planted in his vineyard: and he came, seeking fruits upon it, and found none.

And he said to the cultivator: Lo, these three years, I have come seeking fruits on this fig-tree, and I find none. Cut it down: why should it cumber the ground?

The cultivator said to him: My Lord, spare it this year also, until I shall work about it, and manure it.

And if it bear fruits, well; and if not, thou wilt cut it down: why should it live?
10 E ao ana ia iloko o kekahi halehalawai ma ka la Sabati.
And when Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, on the sabbath,

a woman was there who had had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bent over, and could not straighten herself at all.

And Jesus saw her, and called her, and said to her: Woman, thou art released from thy infirmity.

And he put his hand upon her; and immediately she straightened her self up, and glorified God.

And the chief of the synagogue, being angry that Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered, and said to the multitude: There are six days, on which it is lawful to work; on them come ye, and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

But Jesus replied, and said to him: Thou hypocrite! Doth not every one of you, on the sabbath, loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him to water?

And when he had said these things, all those that stood up against him were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced in all the miracles that were wrought by his hand.

And Jesus said: To what is the kingdom of God like? and with what shall I compare it?

It is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew, and became a large tree; and a bird of heaven made her nest in its branches.

Jesus said again: With what shall I compare the kingdom of God?

It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three seahs of meal, until the whole was fermented.

And he travelled through the villages and cities, teaching and going towards Jerusalem.

And a person asked him, whether they were few who would have life?
24 E hooikaika ia oukou e komo i ka ipuka pilikia; no ka mea, ke hai aku nei au ia oukou, he nui no ka poe e imi ana e komo, aole no e hiki.
And Jesus said to them: Strive to enter the narrow gate: for I say to you, many will seek to enter, and will not be able.

From the time that the lord of the house shall rise and close the door, then ye will stand without, and knock at the door; and ye will begin to say: Our Lord, our Lord, open to us and he will answer, and say: I tell you, I know you not, whence ye are.

And ye will begin to say: We have eaten and drunken before thee; and thou hast taught in our streets.

And he will say to you: I know you not, whence ye are: depart from me, ye doers of falsehood.
28 Alaila, e uwe ai, a e uwi ai na niho, i ka wa e ike ai oukou ia Aberahama, a me Isaaka, a me Iakoba, a me ka poe kaula a pau, iloko o ke aupuni o ke Akua, a o oukou iho hoi ua kipakuia'ku iwaho.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye will see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God; and yourselves will be thrust out.
29 A e hele mai no ko ka hikina, a me ko ke komohana, a me ko ke kukulu akau, a me ko ke kukulu hema, a e noho iho e ai iloko o ke aupuni o ke Akua.
And they will come from the east and from the west, and from the south and from the north, and will recline in the kingdom of God.

And lo, there are last that will be first, and there are first that will be last.
31 Ia la la, hele aku la kekahi mau Parisaio io na la, i aku la ia ia, E puka aku oe, a hele aku mai keia wahi aku; no ka mea, ua manao o Herode e pepehi ia oe.
On the same day came some of the Pharisees, and said to him: Go, depart hence; for Herod purposeth to kill thee.

Jesus said to them: Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures, to-day and to-morrow, and on the third day I shall be consummated.
33 Aka, he pono no wau e holoholo i keia la, a i ka la apopo, a i kela la aku; no ka mea, aole e hiki i ke kaula ke pepehiia i kahi mawaho o Ierusalema.
But I must labor to-day and to-morrow, and on the following day I will go; because it cannot be, that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.
34 E Ierusalema, Ierusalema, e ka mea i pepehi i ka poe kaula, a i hailuku i ka poe i hoounaia'e ia oe; ua makemake pinepine au e hoouluulu mai i kau mau keiki, e like me ka ka mea hoouluulu ana i kana ohana malalo ae o kona mau eheu, aole hoi oukou i makemake!
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how many times would I have gathered thy children, as a hen that gathereth her young under her wings, and ye would not?
35 Aia hoi, ko oukou hale e waiho neoneo ana no oukou; he oiaio ka'u e olelo aku nei, Aole oukou e ike e ia'u, a hiki i ka manawa e olelo mai ai oukou, E hoomaikaiia'ku ka mea i hele mai nei ma ka inoa o ka Haku.
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. For I say to you: Ye will not see me, until ye will say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
