Forsothe Abymelech, the sone of Gerobaal, yede in to Sichem to the britheren of his modir; and he spak to hem, and to al the kynrede of `the hows of his modir, and seide,
2 Ke noi aku nei au ia oukou, e olelo aku oukou ma na pepeiao o na kanaka o Sekema, Heaha ka maikai ia oukou, i lilo na kanaka, he kanahiku, i alii maluna o oukou, oia hoi na keiki a pau o Ierubaala, i lilo paha ke kanaka hookahi i alii maluna o oukou? E hoomanao hoi, no ko oukou iwi au, a no ko oukou io.
Speke ye to alle the men of Sichem, What is betere to you, that seuenti men, alle the sones of Gerobaal, be lordis of you, whether that o man be lord to you? and also biholde, for Y am youre boon, and youre fleisch.
3 Olelo aku la na hoahanau o kona makuwahine nona, ma na pepeiao o na kanaka a pau o Sekema, i keia mau olelo a pau. Hahai aku la ko lakou naau mamuli o Abimeleka; no ka mea, i ae la lakou, Oia ko kakou kaikaina.
And the britheren of his modir spaken of hym alle these wordis to alle the men of Sichem; and bowiden her hertis aftir Abymelech, and seiden, He is oure brother.
4 Haawi mai la lakou ia ia i kanahiku moni, noloko mai o ka hale o Baalaberita, a me ia o Abimeleka i hoolimalima aku ai i kanaka hewa, lapuwale, a hahai aku la lakou mamuli ona.
And thei yauen to hym seuenti weiytis of siluer of the temple of Baal Berith; and he hiride to hym therof men pore and hauynge no certeyn dwellynge, and thei sueden hym.
5 Hele aku la oia i ka hale o kona makuakane, ma Opera, a pepehi aku la i kona poe hoahanau, i na keiki a Ierubaala, he kanahiku kanaka, ma ka pohaku hookahi. Koe no nae o Iotama ke keikikane muli loa a Ierubaala, no ka mea, ua pee oia.
And he cam in to `the hows of his fadir in Ephra, and killide hise britheren the sones of Gerobaal, `seuenti men, on o stoon. And Joathan, the leste sone of Gerobaal, lefte, and was hid.

Forsothe alle the men of Sichem, and alle the meynees of the citee of Mello, weren gadirid to gydere, and thei yeden, and maden Abymelech kyng, bysidis the ook that stood in Sichem.
7 A hai ae la lakou ia Iotama, alaila, hele aku la ia, a ku iho la maluna o ka piko o ka mauna o Gerizima, a hookiekie ae la i kona leo, hea aku la, i aku la ia lakou, E hoolohe mai oukou ia'u, e na kanaka o Sekema, a e hoolohe mai hoi ke Akua ia oukou.
And whanne this thing was teld to Joathan, he yede, and stood in the cop of the hil Garisym, and cried with `vois reisid, and seide, Ye men of Sichem, here me, so that God here you.
8 Hele aku la na laau e poni i alii no lakou. I aku la lakou i ka laau oliva, I alii oe maluna o makou.
Trees yeden to anoynte a kyng on hem; and tho seiden to the olyue tre, Comaunde thou to vs.
9 I mai la ka laau oliva ia lakou, E haalele anei au i ko'u momona, ka mea a lakou e hoomaikai ai i ke Akua, a me kanaka, ma o'u nei, a hele e hoalii maluna o na laau?
Whiche answeride, Whether Y may forsake my fatnesse, which bothe Goddis and men vsen, and come, that Y be auaunsid among trees?
10 Alaila, olelo aku la na laau i ka laau fiku, E hele mai oe e noho alii maluna o makou.
And the trees seiden to the fige tree, Come thou, and take the rewme on vs.
11 I mai la ka laau fiku ia lakou, E haalele anei au i ko'u ono, a me ko'u hua maikai, a hele e noho alii maluna o na laau?
Which answeride to hem, Whether Y may forsake my swetnesse and swetteste fruytis, and go that Y be auaunsid among othere trees?
12 Alaila, olelo aku la na laau i ke kumu waina, E hele mai oe, a noho i alii maluna o makou.
Also `the trees spaken to the vyne, Come thou, and comaunde to vs.
13 I mai la ke kumu waina ia lakou, E haalele anei au i ko'u waina, ka mea e lealea ai ke Akua a me kanaka, a hele e noho alii maluna o na laau?
Which answeride, Whether Y may forsake my wyn, that gladith God and men, and be auaunsid among othere trees?
14 Alaila, olelo aku la na laau a pau i ka laauooi, E hele mai oe a noho alii maluna o makou.
And alle trees seiden to the ramne, ether theue thorn, Come thou, and be lord on vs.
15 I mai la ka laauooi i na laau, Ina e poni oiaio mai oukou ia'u, i alii maluna o oukou, alaila, e hele mai oukou e kanaho malalo iho o ko'u malu; a i ole hoi, alaila, e puka aku no ke ahi, mai ka laauooi aku, a hoopau i na laau kedera o Lebanona.
Whiche answeride to hem, If ye maken me verili kyng to you, come ye, and reste vndur my schadewe; sotheli, if ye nylen, fier go out of the ramne, and deuoure the cedris of the Liban.
16 Ina i hana oukou me ka oiaio, a me ka pono, i ko oukou hoalii ana ia Abimeleka, a ina i hana maikai oukou ia Ierubaala, a me kona poe, a ina i hana oukou ia ia e like me ka pono o kona mau lima:
Now therfor if riytfuli and without synne `ye han maad Abymelech kyng on you, and ye han do wel with Jerobaal, and with his hows, and ye han yolde while to the benefices of hym,
17 (No ka mea, kaua no ko'u makuakane no oukou, a kiola aku la i kona ola iho, a hoopakele ia oukou, mai ka lima ae o ko Midiana;
that fauyt for you, and yaf his lijf to perelis, that he schulde delyuere you fro the hond of Madian;
18 A ua ku mai oukou i keia la, e ku e i ko ka hale o ko'u makuakane, a ua luku mai i kana poe keikikane, he kanahiku, maluna o ka pohaku hookahi, a ua hoolilo ia Abimeleka, i ke keiki a kana haia wahine, i alii maluna o kanaka o Sekema, no ka mea, o ko oukou hoahanau ia; )
and ye han rise now ayens the hows of my fadir, and han slayn hyse sones, seuenti men, on o stoon, and `han maad Abymelech, sone of his handmayde, kyng on the dwelleris of Sichem, for he is youre brother;
19 Nolaila, ina i hana oukou i keia la me ka oiaio, a me ka pono ia Ierubaala, a me ko kona hale, alaila, e olioli oukou ia Abimeleka, a e olioli no hoi oia ia oukou:
therfor if ye han do riytfuli, and with out synne with Gerobaal and his hows, to dai be ye glad in Abymelech, and be he glad in you; but if ye han do weiwardli,
20 A i ole, alaila, e puka mai ke ahi mai Abimeleka mai, a e hoopau i na kanaka o Sekema, a me ko ka hale o Milo; a e puka mai ke ahi mai na kanaka mai o Sekema, a mai ka hale mai o Milo, a e hoopau ia Abimeleka.
fier go out `of hym, and waste the dwelleris of Sichem, and the citee of Mello; and fier go out of the men of Sichem, and of the citee of Mello, and deuoure Abymelech.
21 Holo aku la o Iotama, a pee aku la, a hele aku i Beera, a noho iho la malaila, no ka makau ia Abimeleka i kona hoahanau.
And whanne he hadde seide these thingis, he fledde, and yede in to Berara, and dwellide there, for drede of Abymelech, his brother.
22 A noho alii o Abimeleka maluna o ka Iseraela, i ekolu makahiki,
And Abymelech regnede on Israel thre yeer.
23 Alaila, haawi mai la ke Akua i manao hewa mawaena o Abimeleka, a me na kanaka o Sekema; a hana hoopunipuni aku la na kanaka o Sekema ia Abimeleka:
And the Lord sente the worste spirit bitwixe Abymelech and the dwelleris of Sichem, whiche bigynnen to holde hym abomynable,
24 I kau mai ka lokoinoia o na keiki a Ierubaala, he kanahiku, a me ko lakou koko, i kau mai ia maluna o Abimeleka, o ko lakou kaikaina, ka mea i luku mai ia lakou, a maluna hoi o na kanaka o Sekema, ka poe i hooikaika i kona lima e luku i kona poe hoahanau.
and to arette the felony of sleyng of seuenti sones of Gerobaal, and the schedyng out of her blood, in to Abymelech her brother, and to othere princes of Sichem, that hadden helpid hym.
25 Hoonoho iho la na luna o Sekema i poe hoohalua ia ia, maluna iho o na mauna; a hoohalua aku la lakou i ka poe a pau i hele ae ma ia ala io lakou la, a ua haiia ia Abimeleka.
And thei settiden buyschementis ayens hym in the hiynesse of hillis; and the while thei abideden `the comyng of hym, thei hauntiden theftis, and token preies of men passynge forth; and it was teld to Abymelech.
26 Hele mai la o Gaala ke keiki a Ebeda, oia, a me kona poe hoahanau, hele ae la lakou, a Sekema; a hilinai na kanaka o Sekema ia ia.
Forsothe Gaal, `the sone of Obed, cam with his britheren, and passide in to Siccima; at whos entryng the dwelleris of Sichem weren reisid, and yeden out `in to feeldis,
27 Hele aku la lakou i na mahinaai, hoiliili ae la i ko ka malawaina o lakou, hahi iho la, a hula ae la, a komo aku la iloko o ka hale o ko lakou akua, ai iho la, a inu, a hoino aku la ia Abimeleka.
and wastiden vyneris, and `to-traden grapis; and with cumpeneys of syngeris maad thei entriden in to `the temple of her God, and among metis and drynkis thei cursiden Abymalech, while Gaal,
28 I mai la Gaala, ke keiki a Ebeda, Owai o Abimeleka, a owai hoi o Sekema, i malama aku kakou ia ia? Aole anei ia ke keiki a Ierubaala, a o Zebula kona luna? E malama oukou i kanaka o Hamora, i ka makuakane o Sekema. No ke aha kakou e malama ia ia nei?
the sone of Obed, criede, Who is this Abymelech? And what is Sichem, that we serue hym? Whether he is not the sone of Jerobaal, and made Zebul his seruaunt prince on the men of Emor, fadir of Sichem? Whi therfor schulen we serue hym?
29 Ina e noho ana keia poe kanaka malalo iho o ko'u lima! alaila, kipaku aku au ia Abimeleka. I aku la oia ia Abimeleka, E hoomahuahua oe i kou poe koa, a e puka mai iwaho.
`Y wolde, that sum man yaf this puple vndur myn hond, that Y schulde take awei Abimelech fro the myddis. And it was seid to Abymelech, Gadere thou the multitude of oost, and come thou.
30 A lohe o Zebula, ka luna o ia kulanakauhale, i na olelo a Gaala, ke keiki a Ebeda, wela iho la kona huhu.
For whanne the wordis of Gaal, sone of Obed, weren herd, Zebul, the prynce of the citee, was ful wrooth;
31 Hoouna aku la ia i mau elele ia Abimeleka, me ka wahahee aku, i aku la, Aia hoi, o Gaala, ke keiki a Ebeda, a me kona poe hoahanau, ua hele mai i Sekema; aia hoi e hoopilikia ana lakou i ke kulanakauhale, e ku e ia oe.
and he sente priueli messangeris to Abymelech, and seide, Lo! Gaal, sone of Obed, cam in to Siccymam, with hise britheren, and he excitith the citee to fiyte ayens thee;
32 Nolaila, e ala oe i ka po, o oe, a me na kanaka pu me oe, a e hoohalua ma ke kula.
therfor rise thou bi niyt with the puple, which is with thee, and be thou hid in the feeld;
33 A i kakahiaka, i ka puka ana a ka la, alaila, e ala koke oe a e kaua aku i ua kulanakauhale la, aia puka mai ia iwaho, a me ka poe kanaka me ia, e ku e ia oe, alaila, e hana aku oe ia lakou i ka mea i loaa i kou lima.
and first in the morewtid, whanne the sunne rysith, falle on the citee; forsothe whanne he goth out with his puple ayens thee, do thou to hym that that thou maist.
34 Ala mai la o Abimeleka i ka po, a me na kanaka a pau pu me ia, a hoohalua lakou ia Sekema, eha poe lakou.
Therfor Abymelech roos with al his oost bi nyyt, and settide buyschementis bisidis Siccimam, in foure placis.
35 Hele aku la o Gaala, ke keiki a Ebeda iwaho, a ku ma kahi e komo ai i ka puka o ke kulanakauhale. Ala mai la o Abimeleka, mai kona hoohalua ana, a me na kanaka pu me ia.
And Gaal, the sone of Obed, yede out, and stood in the entryng of `the yate of the citee. Forsothe Abymelech and al the oost with hym roos fro the place of buyschementis.
36 A ike aku la o Gaala i na kanaka, i ae la ia ia Zebula, Aia hoi, ke iho mai la na kanaka, mai ka piko o ka mauna mai. I ae la o Zebula ia ia, O ke aka o na mauna kau e ike nei, me he poe kanaka la.
And whanne Gaal hadde seyn the puple, he seide to Zebul, Lo! a multitude cometh doun fro the hillis. To whom he answeride, Thou seest the schadewis of hillis as the `heedis of men, and thou art disseyued bi this errour.
37 Olelo hou aku o Gaala, i aku la, Aia, ke iho mai nei na kanaka mawaena pono o ka aina, a aia kekahi poe, ke hele mai la, ma ka laau oka o Meonenima.
And eft Gaal seide, Lo! a puple cometh doun fro the myddis of erthe, `that is, fro the hiynesse of hillis, and o cumpeny cometh bi the weie that biholdith the ook.
38 Alaila, olelo mai o Zebula ia ia, Auhea hoi kou waha, ka mea au i olelo ai, Owai o Abimeleka, i hookauwa aku kakou nana? Aole anei keia ka poe kanaka au i hoowahawaha ai? O ko'u manao, e hele aku oe iwaho, a kaua aku ia lakou.
To whom Zebul seide, Where is now thi mouth, bi which thou spekist, Who is Abymelech, that we serue hym? Whether this is not the puple, whom thou dispisidist? Go thou out, and fiyte ayens hym.
39 Hele aku la o Gaala imua o na kanaka o Sekema, a kaua aku la ia Abimeleka.
Therfor Gaal yede, while the puple of Sichen abood; and he fauyt ayens Abymelech.
40 Hahai mai la o Abimeleka ia ia, a hee ae la keia imua ona, a nui ka poe i oia, a hina ilalo, a hiki i ke komo ana i ka puka.
Which pursuede Gaal fleynge, and constreynede to go in to the citee; and ful many of his part felde doun `til to the yate of the citee.
41 Noho iho la o Abimeleka ma Aruma. Kipaku aku la o Zebula ia Gaala, a me kona poe hoahanau, i noho ole lakou ma Sekema.
And Abymelech sat in Ranna; sotheli Zebul puttide Gaal and hise felowis out of the citee, and suffride not to dwelle ther ynne.
42 A ia la iho, hele aku la na kanaka, a i kahi papu, a ua haiia ia Abimeleka.
Therfor in the dai suynge the puple yede out in to the feeld; and whanne this thing was teld to Abymelech,
43 Alaila mahele ae la ia i kanaka, ekolu poe, hoohalua iho la ma kahi papu. Nana aku la oia, aia hoi, ua puka mai na kanaka, mailoko mai o ke kulanakauhale. Ala ae la keia e ku e ia lakou, a luku aku la ia lakou.
he took his oost, and departide `in to thre cumpenyes, and settide buyschementis in the feeldis; and he siy that the puple yede out of the citee, and he roos,
44 A o Abimeleka a me ka poe pu me ia, hoouka iho la lakou, a ku ma kahi e komo aku i ka puka o ke kulanakauhale. A lele aku la kela mau poe elua, maluna o na mea a pau ma ke kula, a luku iho la ia lakou.
and felde on hem with his cumpeny, and enpugnyde and bisegide the citee. Sothely twei cumpenyes yeden aboute opynli bi the feeld, and pursueden aduersaries.
45 Kaua aku la o Abimeleka i ke kulanakauhale, a po ia la, a hoopio iho la ia kulanakauhale, a luku ae la i na kanaka a pau maloko, a wawahi aku la i ke kulanakauhale, a lulu iho la i ka paakai malaila.
Certis Abymelech fauyt ayens the citee in al that dai, which he took, whanne the dwelleris weren slayn, and that citee was destried, so that he spreynte abrood salt ther ynne.
46 A lohe na kanaka a pau o ka halekiai o Sekema, alaila komo lakou iloko o kahi kaua o ka hale akua o Berita.
And whanne thei, that dwelliden in the tour of Sichem, hadde herd this, thei entriden in to the temple of her god Berith, where thei hadden maad boond of pees with hym; and of that the place took name, which place was ful strong.
47 Haiia'ku la ia Abimeleka, ua akoakoa na kanaka a pau o ka halekiai o Sekema.
And Abymelech herde the men of the tour of Sichem gaderid to gidere,
48 Pii aku la o Abimeleka i ka mauna o Zalemona, oia, a me na kanaka a pau pu me ia; a lawe o Abimeleka i ke koi lipi ma kona lima, a kua iho la i lala laau, a hapai ae la, a kau iluna o kona a-i, a olelo aku la i kanaka, O ka mea a oukou i ike mai ai ia'u, e hana ana, e wikiwiki oukou e hana, e like me au nei.
and he stiede in to the hil Selmon with al his puple; and with an axe takun he kittide doun a boow of a tre, and he bar it, put on the schuldur, and seide to felowis, Do ye this thing, which ye seen me do.
49 Oki iho la na kanaka a pau, o kela kanaka o keia kanaka, i kana lala, a hahai lakou ia Abimeleka, a waiho iho la ia mau mea ma ka hale kaua, a puhi iho la i ka hale kaua i ke ahi maluna o lakou. Pela i make ai na kanaka a pau o ka halekiai o Sekema, hookahi tausani kane a me na wahine.
Therfor with strijf thei kittiden doun bowis of the trees, and sueden the duyk; whiche cumpassiden and brenten `the tour; and so it was doon, that with smooke and fier a thousynde of men weren slayn, men togidere and wymmen, of the dwelleris of the tour of Sichem.
50 Alaila, hele aku la o Abimeleka, a Tebeza, a kaua aku la ia Tebeza, a hoopio iho la ia wahi.
Forsothe Abymelech wente forth fro thennus, and cam to the citee of Thebes, which he cumpasside, and bisegide with an oost.
51 Aia maloko o ia kulanakauhale he halekaua ikaika, a malaila no i pee aku ai na kane a pau a me na wahine, a me na mea a pau o ke kulanakauhale, a pani iho la mahope o lakou, a pii aku la i kahi maluna o ka halekaua.
Forsothe the tour was hiy in the myddis of the citee, to which men togidere and wymmen fledden, and alle the princes of the citee, while the yate was closid stronglieste; and thei stoden on the roof of the tour bi toretis.
52 Hele mai la o Abimeleka i ka halekaua, a kaua mai la ia, a hele kokoke mai i ka puka o ka halekaua, e puhi ia mea i ke ahi.
And Abymelech cam bisidis the tour, and fauyt strongli, and he neiyede to the dore, and enforside to putte fier vndur; and lo!
53 A hoolei iho la kehahi wahine i ka pohaku kaa palaoa maluna iho o ke poo o Abimeleka, a wawahi i kona iwipoo.
o womman castide fro aboue a gobet of a mylnestoon, and hurtlide to `the heed of Abymelech, and brak his brayn.
54 Alaila, hea koke ae la ia i ke kanaka ui i lawe i kona kahiko kaua, i aku la ia ia, E unuhi oe i kou pahi a e pepehi mai ia'u, i olelo ole mai ai na kanaka no'u, Na ka wahine ia i pepehi. Hou aku la kona kanaka ia ia, a make ia.
And he clepide soone his squyer, and seide to hym, Drawe out thi swerd, and sle me, lest perauenture it be seid, that Y am slan of a womman. Which performede `the comaundementis, and `killide Abymelech;
55 A ike na kanaka o ka Iseraela ua make o Abimeleka, alaila hoi aku kela kanaka, keia kanaka i kona wahi.
and whanne he was deed, alle men of Israel that weren with hym turneden ayen to her seetis.
56 Pela i hoopai ai ke Akua i ka hewa o Abimeleka, ana i hana aku ai i kona makuakane, i kona pepehi ana i kona poe hoahanau he kanahiku.
And God yeldide to Abymelech the yuel that he dide ayens his fadir, for he killide hise seuenti britheren.
57 A hoopai no hoi ke Akua i ka hewa a pau o na kanaka o Sekema maluna o ko lakou poo iho. A maluna o lakou i hiki mai ai hoi ka hoino a Iotama, ke keiki a Ierubaala.
Also that thing was yoldun to men of Sichem, which thei wrouyten, and the curs of Joathan, sone of Jerobaal, cam on hem.
