Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.

And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.

And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;

and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.

5 Pii mai la lakou me ko lakou holoholona, a me ko lakou mau halelewa, hele mai lakou, e like me na uhini ka nui loa; o lakou a me ko lakou poe kamelo, he poe mea helu ole ia; a komo lakou i ka aina, e luku iho.

For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.

6 Hune loa iho la ka Iseraela, no ko Midiana, a hea aku la na mamo a Iseraela ia Iehova.

And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.

7 A i ka wa i hea aku ai na mamo a Iseraela ia Iehova no ko Midiana,

And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,

8 Alaila, hoouna mai o Iehova i kekahi kanaka, he kaula, i mai la ia ia lakou, Penei ka olelo ana mai a Iehova, ke Akua o ka Iseraela, Na'u no oukou i lawe mai nei, mai Aigupita mai, a hoopuka mai ia oukou, mai loko mai o ka halehooluhi;

a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,

9 Hoopakele ae au ia oukou, mai ka lima ae o ko Aigupita, a mai ka lima aku o ka poe a pau i hooluhihewa mai ia oukou, a kipaku aku la au ia lakou, mai ko oukou alo aku, a haawi aku la au i ko lakou aina no oukou.

and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;

10 I aku la au ia oukou, Owau no o Iehova, o ko oukou Akua. Mai makau oukou i na'kua o ka Amora, na mea nona ka aina, a oukou e noho ai. Aka, aole oukou i hoolohe i ko'u leo.

and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.

Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,

that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.

13 I aku la o Gideona ia ia, e kuu Haku e, ina o Iehova kekahi pu me makou, no ke aha la makou i loohia i keia mau mea a pau? Auhea kana mau hana mana nui, a ko makou poe makua i hai mai ai ia makou, i ka i ana mai, Aole anei i lawe mai o Iehova ia kakou, mai Aigupita mai? Aka, ua haalele mai o Iehova ia kakou, a ua haawi ia kakou iloko o na lima o ko Midiana.

And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.

14 Nana mai la o Iehova ia ia, i mai la, Ma keia mana ou, e hele ai oe, a e hoola no oe i ka Iseraela mai ka lima ae o ko Midiana. Aole anei au i hoouna aku ia oe?

And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.

15 I aku la keia ia ia, E kuu Haku, Pehea la wau e hoola'i i ka Iseraela? He nawaliwali ko'u hanauna i ka Manase a pau; a ua liilii au iloko o ka hale o ko'u makua.

Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.

16 I mai la o Iehova ia ia, Owau pu kekahi me oe, a e luku aku oe i ko Midiana, e like me ke kanaka hookahi.

And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.

17 I aku la keia ia ia, Ina i loaa ia'u ka lokomaikaiia mai imua ou, e haawi mai oe i hoailona no kou kamailio ana mai ia'u.

And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;

18 Ke noi aku nei au ia oe, Mai hele aku oe, a hiki mai au i ou la, a lawe mai i ko'u mohai makana, a waiho imua ou. I mai la kela, E kakali no wau, a hoi hou mai oe.

go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.

19 Hele aku la o Gideona iloko, a hoomakaukau iho la i keiki kao, a i palaoa hu ole, i hookahi epa; a waiho iho la i ka io iloko o ka hinai, a o ke kai, waiho iho la ia maloko o ka ipu, a lawe ae la ia, io na la malalo o Ka laau oka, a haawi aku la.

And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.

20 I mai la ka anela o ke Akua ia ia, E lawe oe i ka io, a i ka palaoa hu ole, a e waiho maluna o keia pohaku, a e ninini iho i ke kai. A hana iho la ia pela.

To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,

21 Alaila, o aku la ka anela o Iehova i ka welau o ke kookoo, ma kona lima, a hoopa iho la i ka io, a me ka palaoa hu ole; a pii ae la ke ahi, mai loko ae o ka pohaku, a hoopau ae la i ka io, a me ka palaoa hu ole. Alaila, hele aku la ka anela o ka Haku, mai kona alo aku.

the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.

22 A ike maopopo ae la o Gideona, he anela ia no Iehova, i iho la o Gideona, Auwe, e ka Haku, e Iehova e! no ka mea, ua ike au i kekahi anela o Iehova, he maka no he maka.

And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.

23 I mai la o Iehova ia ia, Aloha oe. Mai makou oe, aole oe e make.

And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.

24 Alaila hana iho la o Gideona i kuahu malaila, no Iehova, a kapa aku la oia ia mea, o Iehova-aloha. Aia no ia i keia la, ma Opera, no ka Abiezera.

Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,

Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;

26 A e hana oe i kuahu no Iehova, no kou Akua, me ka hoonohonoho pono, maluna o keia wahi paa; a e lawe oe i ka lua o na bipi, a e kaumaha aku i mohai kuni, me ka wahie o ua kii o Asetarota la, au e kua'i.

and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.

27 Alaila lawe ae la o Gideona, i umi kanaka o kona poe kauwa, a hana iho la e like me ka Iehova i kauoha mai ai ia ia. Eia kekahi, no kona makau ana i ko ka hale o kona makua, a i na kanaka o ke kulanakauhale, aole ia i hana i ke ao, aka, hana no ia i ka po.

Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.

28 A i ke ala ana o na kanaka o ke kulanakauhale i kakahiaka nui, aia hoi, na hoohioloia ka lele o Baala, a ua kuaia ke kii o Asetarota e kokoke ana, a na kanmahaia ka lua o ka bipi maluna o ke kuahu i hanaia.

And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.

29 I ae la kekahi i kekahi, Nawai la i hana i keia mea? Imi lakou a ninau hoi; alaila, haiia mai la, Na Gideona, ke keiki a Ioasa, i hana i keia mea.

And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.

30 Alaila olelo aku la na kanaka o ke kulanakauhale ia Ioasa, E lawe mai oe i kau keikikane iwaho, i make ia; no ka mea, ua hoohiolo oia i ke kuahu o Baala, a ua kua oia ilalo i ke kii o Asetarota e kokoke ana me ia.

And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.

31 Olelo aku la o Ioasa i na kanaka a pau i ku e mai ia ia, E hakaka anei oukou mamuli o Baala? E hoola anei oukou ia ia? O ka mea e hakaka mamuli ona, e make ia, i keia kakahiaka. Ina he akua ia, e hakaka oia mamuli ona iho, no ka hoohiolo ana o kekahi i kona lele.

To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.

32 Nolaila kapa aku la oia ia ia i kela la, o i Ierubaala, i ae la, Na Baala e hakaka me ia, no ka mea, na hoohiolo oia i kona kuahu.

Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.

33 Alaila akoakoa mai la ko Midiana a pau, a me ka Ameleka, a me ka poe noho ma ka hikina, hele ae la, a hoomoana iho la ma ka papu o Iezereela.

Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.

34 Uhi mai la ka Uhane o Iehova maluna o Gideona, a puhi iho la ia i ka pu, a akoakoa mai la ka Abiezera mamuli ona.

Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.

35 A hoouna aku la ia i na luna i ka Manase a pau, a akoakoa mai la lakou mamuli ona; a hoouna aku la oia i na luna i ka Asera, a i ka Zebuluna, a i ka Napetali, a pii mai la lakou e halawai me ia poe.

And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.

36 I aku la o Gideona ia Iehova, Ina e hook mai oe i ka Iseraela ma ko'u lima, e like me kau i olelo mai ai,

And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,

37 E halii au i huluhulu ma kahi e hehi ai i ka palaoa; a ina he hau ma ka huluhulu wale no, a e maloo ka honua e a pau, alaila, e ike pono an, e hoola no oe i ka Iseraela ma ko'u lima, e like me kau i olelo mai ai.

Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.

38 Eia hoi, i kona ala ana i kakahiaka ae, kaomi iho la oia i ka huluhulu, a uwi ae la i ke hau o ka huluhulu, a piha ka bola i ka wai.

And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;

39 I aku la o Gideona i ke Akua, Mai wela mai kou huhu ia'u, a e olelo aku au i keia wale no; e ae mai oe ia'u i hookahi o'u hoao hou ana me ka huluhulu. Ke nonoi aku nei au ia oe, i maloo ma ka huluhulu wale no, a i hau hoi ma ka honua a pau.

and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.

40 Ia po, hana mai ke Akua pela: na maloo ma ka huluhulu wale no, he hau no ma ka honua a pau.

And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
